2 Kings 14

1 In the second year of Joash, son of Joahaz, king of Israel, Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah began to reign.

ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರುವ ಯೆಹೋವಾಹಾಜನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಎರಡನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನ ಮಗ ಅಮಚ್ಯನು ಅರಸನಾದನು.

2 He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jehoaddin of Jerusalem.

ಅವನು ಆಳಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದಾಗ, ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೈದು ವರ್ಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೊಂಬತ್ತು ವರ್ಷ ಆಳಿದನು. ಅವನ ತಾಯಿಯ ಹೆಸರು ಯೆಹೋವದ್ದಾನ್, ಅವಳು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವಳು.

3 He did that which was right in the LORD’s eyes, yet not like David his father. He did according to all that Joash his father had done.

ಅವನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಿಯಾದದ್ದನ್ನೇ ಮಾಡಿದನು, ಆದರೆ ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃವಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ. ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ಯೋವಾಷನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ಸಮಸ್ತವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು.

4 However the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

ಆದರೂ ಪೂಜಾಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಲಿಲ್ಲ ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಜನರು ಪೂಜಾಸ್ಥಳಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಧೂಪಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರೆಸಿದ್ದರು.

5 As soon as the kingdom was established in his hand, he killed his servants who had slain the king his father,

ಇವನು ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಿರಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ತರುವಾಯ, ಅರಸನಾಗಿದ್ದ ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಂದ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ ಮರಣದಂಡನೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಧಿಸಿದನು.

6 but the children of the murderers he didn’t put to death, according to that which is written in the scroll of the Torah of Moses, as the LORD commanded, saying, “The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin.”

ಆದರೆ, “ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮಾಡಿದ ಪಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದೆಗಾಗಲಿ, ತಂದೆಯ ಪಾಪಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗಾಗಲಿ ಮರಣಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯಾಗಬಾರದು. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನೂ ತನ್ನ ಪಾಪದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವೇ ಮರಣಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಮೋಶೆಯ ನಿಯಮ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಅವನು ಕೊಲೆಗಾರರ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಲಿಲ್ಲ.

7 He killed ten thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt, and took Sela by war, and called its name Joktheel, to this day.

ಅವನು ಉಪ್ಪಿನ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಎದೋಮ್ಯರಾದ ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿ, ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೆಲ ದುರ್ಗವನ್ನು ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೊಕ್ತೆಯೇಲ್ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಇದೇ ಹೆಸರಿರುತ್ತದೆ.

8 Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, “Come, let’s look one another in the face.”

ಆಗ ಅಮಚ್ಯನು, ಯೇಹುವಿನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನೂ ಯೆಹೋವಾಹಾಜನ ಮಗನೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನಿಗೆ, “ನಾವು ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ಎದುರಿಸೋಣ ಬಾ,” ಎಂದು ದೂತರ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.

9 Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, “The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, ‘Give your daughter to my son as wife.’ Then a wild animal that was in Lebanon passed by, and trampled down the thistle.

ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರುವ ಅಮಚ್ಯನಿಗೆ, “ಲೆಬನೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಮುಳ್ಳುಗಿಡವು ಲೆಬನೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೇವದಾರು ಮರಕ್ಕೆ, ‘ನನ್ನ ಮಗನಿಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿರಲು ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡು,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿತು. ಆದರೆ ಲೆಬನೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅಡವಿಯ ಮೃಗವು ಹಾದು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ಆ ಮುಳ್ಳುಗಿಡವನ್ನು ತುಳಿಯಿತು.

10 You have indeed struck Edom, and your heart has lifted you up. Enjoy the glory of it, and stay at home; for why should you meddle to your harm, that you fall, even you, and Judah with you?”

ನೀನು ಎದೋಮ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಗರ್ವಪಡುತ್ತಿರುವೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಜಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಘನಪಡುತ್ತಾ, ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಕೂತಿರು. ನೀನೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಯೆಹೂದವೂ ಬಿದ್ದುಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೇಡಿಗೆ ನೀನೇ ಕೈ ಹಾಕುವುದೇಕೆ?” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.

11 But Amaziah would not listen. So Jehoash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Beth Shemesh, which belongs to Judah.

ಆದರೆ ಅಮಚ್ಯನು ಕೇಳದೆ ಹೋದನು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟನು. ಅವನೂ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಮಚ್ಯನೂ ಯೆಹೂದಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಬೇತ್ ಷೆಮೆಷ್ ಊರಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ಎದುರಿಸಿದರು.

12 Judah was defeated by Israel; and each man fled to his tent.

ಯೆಹೂದದವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಮುಂದೆ ಸೋತುಹೋದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದರು.

13 Jehoash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash the son of Ahaziah, at Beth Shemesh and came to Jerusalem, then broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.

ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನು ಅಹಜ್ಯನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನೂ ಯೆಹೋವಾಷನ ಮಗನೂ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನೂ ಆದ ಅಮಚ್ಯನನ್ನು ಬೇತ್ ಷೆಮೆಷ್ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಅನಂತರ ಅವನನ್ನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮಿನ ಬಾಗಿಲು ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಮೂಲೆಯ ಬಾಗಿಲವರೆಗೂ, ಆರುನೂರು ಅಡಿ ಉದ್ದದ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಗೋಡೆಯನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.

14 He took all the gold and silver and all the vessels that were found in the LORD’s house and in the treasures of the king’s house, the hostages also, and returned to Samaria.

ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅರಮನೆಯ ಬೊಕ್ಕಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಸಕಲ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಲಕರಣೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂಧಿತರಾದವರನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಸಮಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿದನು.

15 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoash which he did, and his might, and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

ಯೋವಾಷನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಇತರ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳೂ, ಅವನ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮವೂ, ಅವನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಮಚ್ಯನ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಯುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೂ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ಇತಿಹಾಸಗಳ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುತ್ತವೆ.

16 Jehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; and Jeroboam his son reigned in his place.

ಯೋವಾಷನು ಮೃತನಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಸೇರಿದನು. ಅವನನ್ನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವನ ಮಗ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಅವನ ಬದಲಿಗೆ ಅರಸನಾದನು.

17 Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz, king of Israel, fifteen years.

ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವಾಹಾಜನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವಾಷನ ಮರಣದ ತರುವಾಯ, ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ಅಮಚ್ಯನು ಹದಿನೈದು ವರ್ಷ ಬದುಕಿದನು.

18 Now the rest of the acts of Amaziah, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

ಅಮಚ್ಯನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಇತರ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸರ ಇತಿಹಾಸಗಳ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುತ್ತವೆ.

19 They made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish; but they sent after him to Lachish and killed him there.

ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವರು ಅಮಚ್ಯನ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಒಳಸಂಚು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅವನು ಲಾಕೀಷಿಗೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಅವನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಲಾಕೀಷಿಗೆ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದರು.

20 They brought him on horses, and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in David’s city.

ಅವರು ಅವನ ಶವವನ್ನು ಕುದುರೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು, ದಾವೀದನ ಪಟ್ಟಣವಾದ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಿಮಾಡಿದರು.

21 All the people of Judah took Azariah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the place of his father Amaziah.

ಆಗ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರು ಹದಿನಾರು ವರ್ಷದವನಾದ ಅಜರ್ಯನನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಅವನನ್ನು ಅವನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಅಮಚ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅರಸನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

22 He built Elath and restored it to Judah. After that the king slept with his fathers.

ಅಮಚ್ಯನು ಮೃತನಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಸೇರಿದ ತರುವಾಯ, ಅಜರ್ಯನು ಏಲತನ್ನು ಪುನಃ ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ಯೆಹೂದಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.

23 In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah, Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel began to reign in Samaria for forty-one years.

ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಮಚ್ಯನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಹದಿನೈದನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಳಲು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿ, ನಾಲ್ವತ್ತೊಂದು ವರ್ಷ ಆಳಿದನು.

24 He did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight. He didn’t depart from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.

ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನ್ನು ಪಾಪಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದ ನೆಬಾಟನ ಮಗ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವನು ತೊರೆದುಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.

25 He restored the border of Israel from the entrance of Hamath to the sea of the Arabah, according to the LORD, the God of Israel’s word, which he spoke by his servant Jonah the son of Amittai, the prophet, who was from Gath Hepher.

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಗತ್‌ಹೇಫೆರಿನ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಅಮಿತ್ತೈಯನ ಮಗ ಯೋನನೆಂಬ ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಹೇಳಿದ ವಾಕ್ಯದಂತೆ ಅವನು ಹಮಾತಿನ ಪ್ರವೇಶ ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಅರಾಬಾ ತಗ್ಗಿನ ಸಮುದ್ರದವರೆಗೂ ಇರುವ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇರೆಯನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡನು.

26 For the LORD saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter for all, slave and free; and there was no helper for Israel.

ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರೂ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರನಾಗಿರಲಿ, ಗುಲಾಮನಾಗಿರಲಿ, ಎಲ್ಲರು ಎಷ್ಟು ಕಷ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನೋಡಿದರು. ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುವವರು ಯಾರೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

27 The LORD didn’t say that he would blot out the name of Israel from under the sky; but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.

ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ನಾಮವನ್ನು ಆಕಾಶದ ಕೆಳಗಿನಿಂದ ಅಳಿಸಿಬಿಡುವನೆಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳದೇ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ, ಯೋವಾಷನ ಮಗ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದರು.

28 Now the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his might, how he fought, and how he recovered Damascus, and Hamath, which had belonged to Judah, for Israel, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಇತರ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳೂ, ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಸಮಸ್ತವೂ, ಅವನ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮವೂ, ಅವನ ಯುದ್ಧಗಳೂ, ಯೆಹೂದಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ ದಮಸ್ಕವನ್ನೂ, ಹಮಾತನ್ನೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡದ್ದೂ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ದಿನಚರ್ಯೆಗಳ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುತ್ತವೆ.

29 Jeroboam slept with his fathers, even with the kings of Israel; and Zechariah his son reigned in his place.

ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಮೃತನಾಗಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳಾದ ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಜೊತೆ ಸೇರಿದನು. ಅವನ ಮಗ ಜೆಕರ್ಯನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅರಸನಾದನು.
