2 Kings 12
1 Jehoash began to reign in the seventh year of Jehu, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Zibiah of Beersheba.
| در هفتمین سال سلطنت ییهو، پادشاه اسرائیل، یوآش پادشاه یهودا شد و مدت چهل سال در اورشلیم سلطنت کرد. (مادرش ظبیه نام داشت و از اهالی بئرشبع بود.) |
2 Jehoash did that which was right in the LORD’s eyes all his days in which Jehoiada the priest instructed him.
| یوآش در تمام سالهایی که یهویاداع معلم او بود، هر چه در نظر خداوند پسندیده بود انجام می‌داد. |
3 However, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.
| با وجود این بتخانه‌های روی تپه‌ها را خراب نکرد و قوم باز در آنجا قربانی می‌کردند و بخور می‌سوزانیدند. |
4 Jehoash said to the priests, “All the money of the holy things that is brought into the LORD’s house, in current money, the money of the people for whom each man is evaluated, and all the money that it comes into any man’s heart to bring into the LORD’s house,
| روزی یوآش به کاهنان گفت: «خانهٔ خداوند احتیاج به تعمیر دارد. بنابراین هرگاه کسی هدیه‌ای به حضور خداوند بیاورد، چه مقرری باشد چه داوطلبانه و چه نذری، آن را بگیرید و صرف تعمیرات لازم بکنید.» |
5 let the priests take it to them, each man from his donor; and they shall repair the damage to the house, wherever any damage is found.”
6 But it was so, that in the twenty-third year of King Jehoash the priests had not repaired the damage to the house.
| بیست و سومین سال سلطنت یوآش فرا رسید، اما کاهنان هنوز خانهٔ خدا را تعمیر نکرده بودند. |
7 Then King Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and for the other priests, and said to them, “Why aren’t you repairing the damage to the house? Now therefore take no more money from your treasurers, but deliver it for repair of the damage to the house.”
| پس یوآش، یهویاداع و سایر کاهنان را به حضور طلبیده، از ایشان پرسید: «چرا برای تعمیر خانهٔ خدا اقدامی نمی‌کنید؟ از این پس دیگر لازم نیست شما از مردم هدیه بگیرید؛ و هر چه تا به حال جمع کرده‌اید، تحویل بدهید.» |
8 The priests consented that they should take no more money from the people, and not repair the damage to the house.
| کاهنان موافقت نمودند که نه از مردم پول بگیرند و نه مسئول تعمیر خانهٔ خداوند باشند. |
9 But Jehoiada the priest took a chest and bored a hole in its lid, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one comes into the LORD’s house; and the priests who kept the threshold put all the money that was brought into the LORD’s house into it.
| یهویاداع کاهن، صندوقی درست کرد و سوراخی در سرپوش آن ایجاد نمود و آن را در سمت راست مذبح کنار مدخل خانهٔ خداوند گذاشت. هر کس هدیه‌ای می‌آورد، کاهنان محافظ مدخل، آن را به درون جعبه می‌ریختند. |
10 When they saw that there was much money in the chest, the king’s scribe and the high priest came up, and they put it in bags and counted the money that was found in the LORD’s house.
| هر وقت صندوق پر می‌شد، کاتب و کاهن اعظم آن را می‌شمردند و در کیسه‌ها می‌ریختند، |
11 They gave the money that was weighed out into the hands of those who did the work, who had the oversight of the LORD’s house; and they paid it out to the carpenters and the builders who worked on the LORD’s house,
| و به ناظران ساختمانی خانهٔ خداوند تحویل می‌دادند تا با آن پول اجرت نجارها، بناها، معمارها، سنگتراشها و خریداران چوب و سنگ را بپردازند و مصالح ساختمانی را که برای تعمیر خانهٔ خداوند لازم بود، خریداری نمایند. |
12 and to the masons and the stone cutters, and for buying timber and cut stone to repair the damage to the LORD’s house, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.
13 But there were not made for the LORD’s house cups of silver, snuffers, basins, shofars, any vessels of gold or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into the LORD’s house;
| این پول صرف خرید پیاله‌ها، انبرها، کاسه‌ها، شیپورهای نقره و یا دیگر لوازم نقره‌ای و طلایی برای خانهٔ خداوند نمی‌شد، بلکه فقط صرف تعمیرات خانهٔ خداوند می‌گردید. |
14 for they gave that to those who did the work, and repaired the LORD’s house with it.
15 Moreover they didn’t demand an accounting from the men into whose hand they delivered the money to give to those who did the work; for they dealt faithfully.
| از ناظران ساختمانی صورتحساب نمی‌خواستند، چون آنها مردانی امین و درستکار بودند. |
16 The money for the trespass offerings and the money for the sin offerings was not brought into the LORD’s house. It was the priests’.
| پولهایی که مردم برای قربانی جرم و قربانی گناه می‌پرداختند، به خانۀ خداوند آورده نمی‌شد، بلکه آنها را به کاهنان می‌دادند، چون سهم ایشان بود. |
17 Then Hazael king of Syria went up and fought against Gath, and took it; and Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.
| در آن روزها، حزائیل، پادشاه سوریه به شهر جت حمله کرد و آن را گرفت؛ سپس به طرف اورشلیم حرکت کرد تا آن را نیز تصرف نماید. |
18 Jehoash king of Judah took all the holy things that Jehoshaphat and Jehoram and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own holy things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the LORD’s house, and of the king’s house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria; and he went away from Jerusalem.
| اما یوآش پادشاه، تمام اشیاء مقدّسی را که اجدادش (یهوشافاط، یهورام و اخزیا، پادشاهان یهودا) به خداوند وقف نموده بودند، با آنچه که خود وقف کرده بود و تمام طلای خزانهٔ خانهٔ خداوند و خزانهٔ سلطنتی را گرفته، برای حزائیل فرستاد، و حزائیل نیز از حمله به اورشلیم صرفنظر کرده، مراجعت نمود. |
19 Now the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
| شرح بقیهٔ رویدادهای سلطنت یوآش و کارهای او در کتاب «تاریخ پادشاهان یهودا» نوشته شده است. |
20 His servants arose and made a conspiracy, and struck Joash at the house of Millo, on the way that goes down to Silla.
| دو نفر از افراد یوآش به نامهای یوزاکار (پسر شمعت) و یهوزاباد (پسر شومیر) علیه او توطئه چیدند و در بیت‌ملو که سر راه سلا است، او را کشتند. یوآش در کنار اجدادش در شهر داوود دفن شد و پسرش اَمَصیا به جایش بر تخت سلطنت نشست. |
21 For Jozacar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, struck him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in David’s city; and Amaziah his son reigned in his place.
