2 Corinthians 1

1 Paul, an emissary of Messiah Yeshua through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the assembly of God which is at Corinth, with all the holy ones who are in the whole of Achaia:

Paulus, Apostel Christus Jesus', durch Gottes Willen, und Timotheus der Bruder an die Gemeinde in Korinth samt allen Heiligen in ganz Achaia.

2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah.

Gnade euch und Friede von Gott unserem Vater und dem Herrn Jesus Christus.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,

Gepriesen sei Gott der Vater unseres Herrn Jesus Christus, der Vater der Barmherzigkeit und Gott alles Trostes,

4 who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

der uns tröstet bei all unserer Trübsal, so daß wir zu trösten vermögen, die da sind in irgendwelcher Trübsal, mit dem Troste, mit dem wir selbst von Gott getröstet werden.

5 For as the sufferings of Messiah abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Messiah.

Denn wie wir Christus' Leiden reichlich erfahren, so erfahren wir auch reichlich Trost durch Christus.

6 But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer.

Leiden wir, so geschieht es zu Trost und Heil für euch; haben wir Trost, so geschieht es euch zum wirksamen Trost im Dulden der gleichen Leiden, wie sie uns treffen,

7 Our hope for you is steadfast, knowing that, since you are partakers of the sufferings, so you are also of the comfort.

und wir haben feste Hoffnung für euch, in dem Gedanken, daß ihr wie am Leiden, so auch am Troste Anteil habet.

8 For we don’t desire to have you uninformed, brothers, concerning our affliction which happened to us in Asia: that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, so much that we despaired even of life.

So möchten wir denn euch nicht ohne Kunde lassen, Brüder, von der Trübsal, die uns in Asia betroffen hat: sie kam so schwer über uns, weit über Kräfte, so daß wir selbst am Leben verzweifelten.

9 Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,

Ja, von uns aus mußten wir uns das Todesurteil sprechen: auf daß wir nicht auf uns selbst unser Vertrauen hätten, sondern auf den Gott, der die Toten auferweckt.

10 who delivered us out of so great a death, and does deliver, on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us,

Er hat uns aus solchem Tod erlöst, und wird uns erlösen; auf ihn haben wir unsere Hoffnung gesetzt, daß er uns auch weiter erlösen werde.

11 you also helping together on our behalf by your supplication; that, for the gift given to us by means of many, thanks may be given by many persons on your behalf.

Dabei helft auch ihr mit Beten für uns, auf daß bei persönlicher Anteilnahme so vieler die auf uns kommende Gnadengabe auch die Dankesweihe von vielen erhalte für uns.

12 For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly towards you.

Wenn wir uns denn rühmen, so handelt es sich um das Zeugnis unseres Gewissens, daß wir in Heiligkeit und Lauterkeit Gottes, nicht in fleischlicher Weisheit, sondern in Gottes Gnade uns bewegt haben, wie in der Welt überhaupt, so ganz besonders gegenüber von euch.

13 For we write no other things to you than what you read or even acknowledge, and I hope you will acknowledge to the end—

Denn es ist nichts damit, daß in unseren Briefen etwas anderes stecke - als was ihr leset, und was ihr auch versteht, ja ich hoffe noch völlig verstehen werdet,

14 as also you acknowledged us in part—that we are your boasting, even as you also are ours, in the day of our Lord Yeshua.

sowie ihr uns doch schon teilweise verstanden habt, nämlich das: daß wir euer Ruhm sind, so gut als ihr der unsrige auf den Tag unseres Herrn Jesus.

15 In this confidence, I was determined to come first to you, that you might have a second benefit,

Und in diesem Vertrauen beabsichtigte ich, zuerst zu euch zu kommen, damit ihr zweimal die Freude hättet;

16 and by you to pass into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and to be sent forward by you on my journey to Judea.

über euch wollte ich dann nach Makedonia gehen, von da wieder zu euch zurück, und mir von euch das Geleite nach Judäa geben lassen.

17 When I therefore planned this, did I show fickleness? Or the things that I plan, do I plan according to the flesh, that with me there should be the “Yes, yes” and the “No, no?”

Bin ich nun bei dieser Absicht leichtfertig verfahren? Oder sind meine Plane überhaupt Plane nach dem Fleische, so daß bei mir das Ja Ja auch Nein Nein heißt?

18 But as God is faithful, our word towards you was not “Yes and no.”

Gott ist gut dafür, daß unser Wort zu euch nicht ein Ja- und Nein-Wort ist.

19 For the Son of God, Yeshua the Messiah, who was preached amongst you by us—by me, Silvanus, and Timothy—was not “Yes and no,” but in him is “Yes.”

Denn der Sohn Gottes Christus Jesus, der unter euch durch uns verkündet ward, durch mich, Silvanus und Timotheus, war nicht Ja und Nein, sondern in ihm ist das Ja.

20 For however many are the promises of God, in him is the “Yes.” Therefore also through him is the “Amen”, to the glory of God through us.

Zu allen Verheißungen Gottes ist in ihm das Ja, und durch ihn das Amen, Gott zum Preise durch uns.

21 Now he who establishes us with you in Messiah and anointed us is God,

Der aber, der uns samt euch festmacht für Christus, ist Gott, der uns auch gesalbt hat,

22 who also sealed us and gave us the down payment of the Spirit in our hearts.

der uns auch versiegelt, und das Pfand des Geistes in unsere Herzen gegeben hat.

23 But I call God for a witness to my soul, that to spare you, I didn’t come to Corinth.

Ich aber rufe Gott zum Zeugen an auf meine Seele, daß ich aus Schonung gegen euch nicht wieder nach Korinth gekommen bin.

24 We don’t control your faith, but are fellow workers with you for your joy. For you stand firm in faith.

(Nicht daß wir über euren Glauben herrschen: sondern wir arbeiten mit an eurer Freude; ihr steht ja im Glauben).
