2 Chronicles 33

1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem.

De doce años era Manasés, cuando comenzó a reinar, y cincuenta y cinco años reinó en Jerusalem.

2 He did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, after the abominations of the nations whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

E hizo lo malo en los ojos de Jehová, conforme a las abominaciones de las gentes que había echado Jehová delante de los hijos de Israel.

3 For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down; and he raised up altars for the Baals, made Asheroth, and worshipped all the army of the sky, and served them.

Porque él reedificó los altos que Ezequías su padre había derribado; y levantó altares a los Baales, e hizo bosques, y adoró a todo el ejército de los cielos, y a él sirvió.

4 He built altars in the LORD’s house, of which the LORD said, “My name shall be in Jerusalem forever.”

Edificó también altares en la casa de Jehová, de la cual Jehová había dicho: En Jerusalem será mi nombre perpetuamente.

5 He built altars for all the army of the sky in the two courts of the LORD’s house.

Edificó asimismo altares a todo el ejército de los cielos en los dos patios de la casa de Jehová.

6 He also made his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom. He practised sorcery, divination, and witchcraft, and dealt with those who had familiar spirits and with wizards. He did much evil in the LORD’s sight, to provoke him to anger.

Y pasó sus hijos por fuego en el valle de los hijos de Ennon: miraba en los tiempos, miraba en agüeros, y era dado a adivinaciones, consultaba pitones y encantadores: multiplicó en hacer lo malo en ojos de Jehová para irritarle.

7 He set the engraved image of the idol, which he had made, in God’s house, of which God said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my name forever.

Además de esto puso una imagen de fundición que hizo, en la casa de Dios, de la cual Dios había dicho a David, y a Salomón su hijo: En esta casa, y en Jerusalem, la cual yo elegí sobre todas las tribus de Israel, pondré mi nombre para siempre:

8 I will not any more remove the foot of Israel from off the land which I have appointed for your fathers, if only they will observe to do all that I have commanded them, even all the law, the statutes, and the ordinances given by Moses.”

Y nunca más quitaré el pie de Israel de la tierra que yo entregué a vuestros padres, a condición que guarden y hagan todas las cosas que yo les he mandado, toda la ley, estatutos, y derechos por mano de Moisés.

9 Manasseh seduced Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that they did more evil than did the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Israel.

Así que Manasés hizo descaminar a Judá y a los moradores de Jerusalem, para hacer más mal que las gentes que Jehová destruyó delante de los hijos de Israel.

10 The LORD spoke to Manasseh and to his people, but they didn’t listen.

Y Jehová hablo a Manasés y a su pueblo; mas ellos no escucharon:

11 Therefore the LORD brought on them the captains of the army of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh in chains, bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.

por lo cual Jehová trajo contra ellos los príncipes del ejército del rey de los Asirios, los cuales echaron en grillos a Manasés: y atado con dos cadenas le llevaron a Babilonia.

12 When he was in distress, he begged the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.

Mas después que fue puesto en angustias oró a la faz de Jehová su Dios, humillado grandemente en la presencia del Dios de sus padres.

13 He prayed to him; and he was entreated by him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD was God.

Y como oró a él, fue oído: porque él oyó su oración, y le volvió a Jerusalem a su reino. Entonces conoció Manasés que Jehová era Dios.

14 Now after this, he built an outer wall to David’s city on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entrance at the fish gate. He encircled Ophel with it, and raised it up to a very great height; and he put valiant captains in all the fortified cities of Judah.

Después de esto edificó el muro de a fuera de la ciudad de David, al occidente de Gijón en el valle, y a la entrada de la puerta del pescado, y cercó a Ofel, y alzólo muy alto: y puso capitanes de ejército en todas las ciudades fuertes por Judá.

15 He took away the foreign gods and the idol out of the LORD’s house, and all the altars that he had built in the mountain of the LORD’s house and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.

Asimismo quitó los dioses ajenos, y el ídolo de la casa de Jehová, y todos los altares que había edificado en el monte de la casa de Jehová, y en Jerusalem, y echólo todo fuera de la ciudad.

16 He built up the LORD’s altar, and offered sacrifices of peace offerings and of thanksgiving on it, and commanded Judah to serve the LORD, the God of Israel.

Y reparó el altar de Jehová, y sacrificó sobre él sacrificios pacíficos, y de alabanza: y mandó a Judá que sirviesen a Jehová Dios de Israel.

17 Nevertheless the people still sacrificed in the high places, but only to the LORD their God.

Empero el pueblo aun sacrificaba en los altos, aunque a Jehová su Dios.

18 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer to his God, and the words of the seers who spoke to him in the name of the LORD, the God of Israel, behold, they are written amongst the acts of the kings of Israel.

Lo demás de los hechos de Manasés, y su oración a su Dios, y las palabras de los videntes que le hablaron en nombre de Jehová el Dios de Israel, he aquí, todo está escrito en los hechos de los reyes de Israel.

19 His prayer also, and how God listened to his request, and all his sin and his trespass, and the places in which he built high places and set up the Asherah poles and the engraved images before he humbled himself: behold, they are written in the history of Hozai.

Su oración también, y como fue oído, todos sus pecados, y su prevaricación, los lugares donde edificó altos y había puesto bosques e ídolos antes que se humillase, he aquí, estas cosas están escritas en las palabras de los videntes.

20 So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house; and Amon his son reigned in his place.

Y durmió Manasés con sus padres, y sepultáronle en su casa: y reinó en su lugar Amón su hijo.

21 Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem.

De veinte y dos años era Amón, cuando comenzó a reinar, y dos años reinó en Jerusalem.

22 He did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, as did Manasseh his father; and Amon sacrificed to all the engraved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them.

E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, como había hecho Manasés su padre: porque a todos los ídolos que su padre Manasés había hecho, sacrificó y sirvió Amón.

23 He didn’t humble himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but this same Amon trespassed more and more.

Mas nunca se humilló delante de Jehová, como Manasés su padre se humilló, antes aumentó el pecado.

24 His servants conspired against him, and put him to death in his own house.

Y conspiraron contra él sus siervos, y matáronle en su casa.

25 But the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against King Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.

Mas el pueblo de la tierra hirió a todos los que habían conspirado contra el rey Amón: y el pueblo de la tierra puso por rey en su lugar a Josías su hijo.
