2 Chronicles 29
1 Hezekiah began to reign when he was twenty-five years old, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah.
Ezequías tenía 25 años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó 29 años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre fue Abías, hija de Zacarías.
2 He did that which was right in the LORD’s eyes, according to all that David his father had done.
Hizo lo recto ante Yavé, según todo lo que hizo su antepasado David.
3 In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the LORD’s house and repaired them.
El primer año de su reinado, el mes primero, él abrió las puertas de la Casa de Yavé y las reparó.
4 He brought in the priests and the Levites and gathered them together into the wide place on the east,
Acercó a los sacerdotes y levitas, los reunió en la plaza oriental
5 and said to them, “Listen to me, you Levites! Now sanctify yourselves, and sanctify the house of the LORD, the God of your fathers, and carry the filthiness out of the holy place.
y les dijo: Escúchenme, levitas. Santifíquense, santifiquen la Casa de Yavé el ʼElohim de sus antepasados y quiten la impureza del Santuario.
6 For our fathers were unfaithful, and have done that which was evil in the LORD our God’s sight, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of the LORD, and turned their backs.
Porque nuestros antepasados fueron infieles e hicieron lo malo ante Yavé nuestro ʼElohim. Lo abandonaron, voltearon sus caras del Tabernáculo de Yavé y le dieron la espalda.
7 Also they have shut up the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps, and have not burnt incense nor offered burnt offerings in the holy place to the God of Israel.
También cerraron las puertas del patio, apagaron las lámparas y no quemaron incienso ni ofrecieron holocaustos en el Santuario al ʼElohim de Israel.
8 Therefore the LORD’s wrath was on Judah and Jerusalem, and he has delivered them to be tossed back and forth, to be an astonishment and a hissing, as you see with your eyes.
Por eso la ira de Yavé cayó sobre Judá y Jerusalén. Él los convirtió en un objeto de terror, horror y escarnio como lo ven sus propios ojos.
9 For behold, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this.
Ciertamente por esto nuestros antepasados cayeron a espada, y nuestros hijos, hijas y mujeres están cautivos.
10 Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with the LORD, the God of Israel, that his fierce anger may turn away from us.
Ahora pues, decidí hacer un pacto con Yavé ʼElohim de Israel, para que el ardor de su ira se aparte de nosotros.
11 My sons, don’t be negligent now; for the LORD has chosen you to stand before him, to minister to him, and that you should be his ministers and burn incense.”
Por tanto, hijos míos, no sean negligentes, porque Yavé los escogió para que estén ante Él y le sirvan, a fin de que le ministren y le quemen incienso.
12 Then the Levites arose: Mahath, the son of Amasai, and Joel the son of Azariah, of the sons of the Kohathites; and of the sons of Merari, Kish the son of Abdi, and Azariah the son of Jehallelel; and of the Gershonites, Joah the son of Zimmah, and Eden the son of Joah;
Entonces se levantaron los levitas: Mahat, hijo de Amasai, y Joel, hijo de Azarías, de los hijos de Coat; y de los hijos de Merari, Cis, hijo de Abdi, y Azarías, hijo de Jehalelel; y de los gersonitas, Joa, hijo de Zima, y Edén, hijo de Joa;
13 and of the sons of Elizaphan, Shimri and Jeuel; and of the sons of Asaph, Zechariah and Mattaniah;
y de los hijos de Elizafán, Simri y Jeiel; y de los hijos de Asaf, Zacarías y Matanías;
14 and of the sons of Heman, Jehuel and Shimei; and of the sons of Jeduthun, Shemaiah and Uzziel.
y de los hijos de Hemán, Jehiel y Simei; y de los hijos de Jedutún, Semaías y Uziel.
15 They gathered their brothers, sanctified themselves, and went in, according to the commandment of the king by the LORD’s words, to cleanse the LORD’s house.
Éstos reunieron a sus hermanos. Se santificaron y entraron para limpiar la Casa de Yavé, según el mandamiento del rey y según las Palabras de Yavé.
16 The priests went into the inner part of the LORD’s house to cleanse it, and brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the LORD’s temple into the court of the LORD’s house. The Levites took it from there to carry it out to the brook Kidron.
Entraron los sacerdotes en la Casa de Yavé para limpiarla. Sacaron al patio de la Casa toda la impureza que hallaron en el Santuario de Yavé, y los levitas la tomaron para sacarla al torrente Cedrón.
17 Now they began on the first day of the first month to sanctify, and on the eighth day of the month they came to the LORD’s porch. They sanctified the LORD’s house in eight days, and on the sixteenth day of the first month they finished.
Comenzaron la limpieza el primero día del mes primero, y el octavo día llegaron al patio de [la Casa de] Yavé. Continuaron limpiando otros ocho días. Terminaron el día 16 del mes primero.
18 Then they went in to Hezekiah the king within the palace and said, “We have cleansed all the LORD’s house, including the altar of burnt offering with all its vessels, and the table of show bread with all its vessels.
Entonces fueron al rey Ezequías y le dijeron: Limpiamos toda la Casa de Yavé, el altar del holocausto, todos sus utensilios, la mesa de la Presentación y todos sus utensilios.
19 Moreover, we have prepared and sanctified all the vessels which King Ahaz threw away in his reign when he was unfaithful. Behold, they are before the LORD’s altar.”
También preparamos y consagramos todos los utensilios que el rey Acaz desechó durante su reinado a causa de su infidelidad. Ahí están delante del altar de Yavé.
20 Then Hezekiah the king arose early, gathered the princes of the city, and went up to the LORD’s house.
El rey Ezequías madrugó, reunió a los jefes de la ciudad y subió a la Casa de Yavé.
21 They brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs, and seven male goats, for a sin offering for the kingdom, for the sanctuary, and for Judah. He commanded the priests the sons of Aaron to offer them on the LORD’s altar.
Llevaron siete becerros, siete carneros, siete corderos y siete machos cabríos como ofrenda por el pecado, a favor del reino, del Santuario y a favor de todo Judá. Mandó a los sacerdotes descendientes de Aarón ofrecerlos sobre el altar de Yavé.
22 So they killed the bulls, and the priests received the blood and sprinkled it on the altar. They killed the rams and sprinkled the blood on the altar. They also killed the lambs and sprinkled the blood on the altar.
Degollaron los becerros. Los sacerdotes recogieron la sangre y la rociaron hacia el altar. Hicieron lo mismo con los carneros y los corderos.
23 They brought near the male goats for the sin offering before the king and the assembly; and they laid their hands on them.
Después acercaron los machos cabríos ante el rey y la congregación para la ofrenda que apacigua. Colocaron sus manos sobre ellos.
24 Then the priests killed them, and they made a sin offering with their blood on the altar, to make atonement for all Israel; for the king commanded that the burnt offering and the sin offering should be made for all Israel.
Los sacerdotes los degollaron e hicieron una ofrenda que apacigua con su sangre sobre el altar, para hacer ofrenda que apacigua por todo Israel, porque el rey ordenó que el holocausto y la ofrenda se hicieran a favor de todo Israel.
25 He set the Levites in the LORD’s house with cymbals, with stringed instruments, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, of Gad the king’s seer, and Nathan the prophet; for the commandment was from the LORD by his prophets.
Colocó a los levitas en la Casa de Yavé con címbalos, salterios y arpas, según el mandamiento de David, de Gad, vidente del rey, y del profeta Natán, pues ese mandamiento llegó de Yavé por medio de sus profetas.
26 The Levites stood with David’s instruments, and the priests with the shofars.
Se pusieron en pie los levitas con los instrumentos de David y los sacerdotes con las trompetas.
27 Hezekiah commanded them to offer the burnt offering on the altar. When the burnt offering began, the LORD’s song also began, along with the shofars and instruments of David king of Israel.
Entonces Ezequías ordenó que se ofreciera el holocausto sobre el altar. Cuando comenzó el holocausto, también comenzó el cántico de Yavé, el sonido de las trompetas y los instrumentos de David, rey de Israel.
28 All the assembly worshipped, the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded. All this continued until the burnt offering was finished.
Toda la congregación se postró mientras elevaban cánticos y tocaban las trompetas, todo hasta cuando el holocausto fue consumido.
29 When they had finished offering, the king and all who were present with him bowed themselves and worshipped.
Cuando se consumió el holocausto, el rey y todos los que estaban con él se inclinaron y se postraron.
30 Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praises to the LORD with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. They sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped.
Entonces el rey Ezequías y los jefes ordenaron a los levitas que alabaran a Yavé con las palabras de David y del vidente Asaf. Ellos elevaron alabanzas con gran júbilo, se inclinaron y se postraron.
31 Then Hezekiah answered, “Now you have consecrated yourselves to the LORD. Come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings into the LORD’s house.” The assembly brought in sacrifices and thank offerings, and as many as were of a willing heart brought burnt offerings.
Ezequías tomó la palabra: Ahora ustedes se consagraron a Yavé. Acérquense y ofrezcan sacrificios y ofrendas de acción de gracias en la Casa de Yavé. Y la congregación ofreció sacrificios y ofrendas de acción de gracias. Todos los generosos de corazón ofrecieron holocaustos.
32 The number of the burnt offerings which the assembly brought was seventy bulls, one hundred rams, and two hundred lambs. All these were for a burnt offering to the LORD.
La congregación llevó 70 becerros, 100 carneros y 200 corderos como holocausto a Yavé.
33 The consecrated things were six hundred head of cattle and three thousand sheep.
Las ofrendas consagradas fueron 600 becerros y 3.000 ovejas.
34 But the priests were too few, so that they could not skin all the burnt offerings. Therefore their brothers the Levites helped them until the work was ended, and until the priests had sanctified themselves, for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.
Pero los sacerdotes eran muy pocos y no bastaban para desollar los holocaustos. Sus hermanos levitas les ayudaron hasta terminar la labor, y hasta cuando los demás sacerdotes se santificaron, porque los levitas fueron más rectos de corazón para santificarse que los sacerdotes.
35 Also the burnt offerings were in abundance, with the fat of the peace offerings and with the drink offerings for every burnt offering. So the service of the LORD’s house was set in order.
Hubo holocaustos en abundancia, grasa de las ofrendas de paz y las libaciones para cada holocausto. De esta manera el servicio en la Casa de Yavé quedó restablecido.
36 Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced because of that which God had prepared for the people; for the thing was done suddenly.
Ezequías se regocijó con todo el pueblo porque ʼElohim lo preparó, pues la celebración ocurrió de manera tan repentina.
