1 Timothy 3
1 This is a faithful saying: someone who seeks to be an overseer desires a good work.
Kasaligan kini nga panultihon: Kung adunay buot nga mahimong tagadumala, nagtinguha siya ug maayong buluhaton.
2 The overseer therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, good at teaching;
Busa ang tagadumala kinahanglan walay ikasaway, bana sa usa ka asawa, dili magpalabi, maalamon, matinarongon, maabiabihon, kahibalo motudlo,
3 not a drinker, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous;
dili gapalabi sa bino, dili palaaway, apan hinuon, malumo, malinawon, dili mahigugmaon sa kwarta.
4 one who rules his own house well, having children in subjection with all reverence;
Kinahanglan maayo ang pagdumala niya sa iyang panimalay, ug ang iyang mga anak kinahanglan gatuman kaniya nga adunay tanang pagtahod;
5 (for how could someone who doesn’t know how to rule his own house take care of God’s assembly?)
kay kung ang lalaki dili kahibalo magdumala sa iyang kaugalingong panimalay, unsaon man niya pag-atiman sa usa ka iglesia sa Dios?
6 not a new convert, lest being puffed up he fall into the same condemnation as the devil.
Kinahanglan nga dili siya bag-o pa lang nga tumutuo, aron dili siya maghinambog ug masilotan sama sa yawa.
7 Moreover he must have good testimony from those who are outside, to avoid falling into reproach and the snare of the devil.
Kinahanglan sad nga siya adunay maayong dungog ngadto sa mga taga-gawas, aron dili siya mapaulawan ug mabitik sa lit-ag sa yawa.
8 Servants, in the same way, must be reverent, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for money,
Ang mga diacono sad, kinahanglan takos sa pagtahod, dili galainlain ang istorya, wala gapalabi sa pag-inom ug bino, ug dili hakog.
9 holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
Kinahanglan tipigan nila ang gipadayag nga kamatuoran sa pagtuo nga adunay hinlo nga konsensiya.
10 Let them also first be tested; then let them serve if they are blameless.
Kinahanglan sad maaprobahan usa sila, ug anha pa dayon sila mangalagad tungod kay wala nay ikasaway kanila.
11 Their wives in the same way must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, and faithful in all things.
Ang mga babaye, sa samang pamaagi, kinahanglan takos sad sa pagtahod, dili mangdaut sa uban, dili magpalabi, ug matinumanon sa tanang butang.
12 Let servants be husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
Ang mga diacono kinahanglan mga bana sa usa ka asawa ug maayo magdumala sa ilang mga anak ug panimalay.
13 For those who have served well gain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Messiah Yeshua.
Kay kadtong mga maayo mangalagad makabaton alang sa ilang kaugalingon ug maayong pagdungog ug dakong kaisog sa pagtuo diha kang Cristo Jesus.
14 These things I write to you, hoping to come to you shortly,
Akong gisulat kanimo kining mga butanga ug naglaum ako nga makaanha ako kanimo dayon,
15 but if I wait long, that you may know how men ought to behave themselves in God’s house, which is the assembly of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
apan kung malangan ako, nagsulat ako daan aron makahibalo ka kung unsaon pagiya sa balay sa buhi nga Dios, nga mao ang haligi ug gasuporta sa kamatuoran.
16 Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: God was revealed in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen by angels, preached amongst the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.
Ug kauban kita nga nagkasinabot nga, “Dako ang gipadayag nga kamatuoran sa pagkadiosnon.” “Siya nagpakita sa lawas”, “Gipamatud-an siya nga matarong sa Espiritu, “Nakita sa mga anghel, “Gisangyaw sa kanasuran, “Gituohan sa kalibotan, “Gibayaw ngadto sa himaya.”
