< 1 Kings 16 >

1 The LORD’s word came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,
To naah Baasha koeh ai ih Angraeng ih lok Hanani capa Jehu khaeah angzoh,
2 “Because I exalted you out of the dust and made you prince over my people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam and have made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins,
nang hae maiphu thung hoiah kang toengh tahang moe, kaimah ih Israel kaminawk zaehoikung ah kang suek; toe nang loe Jeroboam ih loklam ah na caeh moe, kaimah ih Israel kaminawk na zaesak pacoengah, nihcae zaehaih hoiah kai palung nang phuisak.
3 behold, I will utterly sweep away Baasha and his house; and I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
To pongah khenah, Baasha ih acaengnawk to kam rosak boih moe, na caeng hae Jeroboam capa Nebat ih acaeng baktiah kang ohsak han.
4 The dogs will eat Baasha’s descendants who die in the city; and he who dies of his in the field, the birds of the sky will eat.”
Vangpui thungah kadueh Baasha ih kaminawk loe uinawk mah caa o tih; taw ah kadueh anih ih kaminawk doeh van ih tavaanawk mah caa o tih, tiah a naa.
5 Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
Baasha siang pahrang ah oh nathung kaom hmuennawk hoi a sak ih hmuennawk loe, Israel siangpahrangnawk ahmin pakuemhaih cabu thungah tarik o na ai maw?
6 Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his place.
Baasha loe ampanawk khaeah anghak moe, Tirzah vangpui ah aphum o; anih zuengah a capa Elah to siangpahrang ah oh.
7 Moreover the LORD’s word came by the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha and against his house, both because of all the evil that he did in the LORD’s sight, to provoke him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he struck him.
To pacoengah Baasha hoi angmah ih imthung takoh koeh ai ih Angraeng ih lok to Hanani capa tahmaa Jehu khaeah angzoh; anih loe Angraeng mikhnuk ah kahoih ai hmuen to sak pongah, a ban hoi sak ih hmuen hoiah Angraeng to palungphuisak; anih mah to kami to hum pongah, Jeroboam imthung takoh baktiah, to imthung takoh to amrosak.
8 In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha began to reign over Israel in Tirzah for two years.
Judah siangpahrang Asa siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning hatlaitarukto naah, Baasha capa Elah loe Israel siangpahrang ah oh; anih loe Tirzah ah saning hnetto thung siangpahrang ah oh.
9 His servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him. Now he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah;
Hrang lakok ahap ukkung misatuh angraeng, a tamna Zimri mah anih to hum hanah pacaeng; to naah Elah loe, Tirzah ah Tirzah vangpui ih siangpahrang im khenzawnkung Arza im ah mu paquih.
10 and Zimri went in and struck him and killed him in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his place.
Zimri loe imthung ah akun moe, Judah siangpahrang Asa siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning pumphae sarihto naah, Elah to hum; to pacoengah angmah to siangpahrang ah oh.
11 When he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, he attacked all the house of Baasha. He didn’t leave him a single one who urinates on a wall amongst his relatives or his friends.
Zimri siangpahrang ah oh moe, siangpahrang ih angraeng tangkhang pong anghnut pacoengah, Baasha imthung takohnawk to hum boih; nongpa maeto doeh pathlung ai; a caanawk hoi ampuinawk doeh pathlung ai.
12 Thus Zimri destroyed all the house of Baasha, according to the LORD’s word which he spoke against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,
Angraeng mah Basha misa ah suekhaih kawng tahmaa Jehu khaeah thuih ih lok baktih toengah, Zimri mah Basha imthung takoh to tamit boih,
13 for all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned and with which they made Israel to sin, to provoke the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.
Baasha hoi a capa Elah hnik mah sak ih zaehaih mah Israel kaminawk to zaesak pongah, Israel Angraeng Sithaw to palungphui hoi sak; atho kaom ai hmuen hoiah palungphuisak.
14 Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
Elah siangpahrang ah oh nathung ah kaom, hmuennawk hoi a sak ih hmuennawk boih loe, Israel siangpahrangnawk ahmin pakuemhaih cabu thungah tarik o na ai maw?
15 In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri reigned seven days in Tirzah. Now the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.
Judah siangpahrang Asa siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning pumphae sarihto naah, Zimri to Tirzah ah ni sarihto thung siangpahrang ah oh. Kaminawk loe Philistin prae Gibbethon vangpui to tuk hanah atai o.
16 The people who were encamped heard that Zimri had conspired, and had also killed the king. Therefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the army, king over Israel that day in the camp.
To tiah atai o nathuem ah, Zimri mah hum han ih pacaeng baktih toengah, siangpahrang to hum boeh ti, tiah a thaih o naah, Israel kaminawk boih mah misatuh angraeng Omri to, to na ni, to ahmuen ah, Israel kaminawk ukkung siangpahrang ah suek o.
17 Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.
Omri loe Israel kaminawk boih hoi nawnto, Gibbethon vangpui ah caeh tahang moe, Tirzah vangpui to takui.
18 When Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went into the fortified part of the king’s house and burnt the king’s house over him with fire, and died,
Vangpui to lak o boeh, tiah Zimri mah hnuk naah, siangpahrang imthung ah caeh moe, siangpahrang angmah ih im to hmai hoiah thlaek moe, a duek.
19 for his sins which he sinned in doing that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did to make Israel to sin.
A sak ih zaehaihnawk hoiah Jeroboam ih loklam ah caeh moe, Angraeng hmaa ah kahoih ai zaehaih sak khue ai ah, Israel kaminawk to zaesak pongah, to tiah oh.
20 Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his treason that he committed, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
Zimri siangpahrang ah oh nathung kaom hmuennawk hoi misa angthawkhaih loe Israel siangpahrangnawk ahmin pakuemhaih cabu pongah tarik o na ai maw?
21 Then the people of Israel were divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king, and half followed Omri.
Israel kaminawk loe hnetto ah ampraek o; ahap kaminawk mah Ginath capa Tibni to siangpahrang ah suek hanah anih hnukah bang o, kami ahap loe Omri hnukah bang o.
22 But the people who followed Omri prevailed against the people who followed Tibni the son of Ginath; so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.
Toe Zimri hnukbang kaminawk loe Ginath capa Tibni hnukbang kaminawk pongah thacak o kue; to pongah Tibni loe duek moe, Omri to siangpahrang ah oh.
23 In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri began to reign over Israel for twelve years. He reigned six years in Tirzah.
Judah siangpahrang Asa siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning quithumto pacoeng, saningto naah, Omri to Israel siangpahrang ah oh; saning hatlaihnetto siangpahrang ah oh; anih mah Tirzah to saning tarukto thung uk.
24 He bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver; and he built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, Samaria, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill.
Anih mah tawnkung Shemer khaeah Samaria maeto, phoisa talent hnetto hoiah qanh moe, mae nuiah vangpui to sak; mae tawnkung ih ahmin Shemer to lak moe, to vangpui to Samaria, tiah ahmin sak.
25 Omri did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, and dealt wickedly above all who were before him.
Omri loe Angraeng mikhnuk ah kahoih ai hmuen to sak pongah, anih hmaa ah kaom kaminawk boih pongah kanung kue zaehaih to a sak.
26 For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins with which he made Israel to sin, to provoke the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.
Nebat capa Jeroboam ih loklam to pazui moe, anih zaehaih mah Israel kaminawk to zaesak pongah, Israel Angraeng Sithaw to palungphuisak; atho kaom ai hmuen hoiah anih to palungphuisak.
27 Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he showed, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
Omri siangpahrang ah oh nathung kaom hmuennawk hoi a sak ih hmuennawk loe, Israel siangpahrangnawk ahmin pakuemhaih cabu thungah tarik o na ai maw?
28 So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigned in his place.
Omri loe ampanawk khaeah anghak moe, Samaria vangpui ah aphum o; anih zuengah a capa Ahab to siangpahrang ah oh.
29 In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab the son of Omri began to reign over Israel. Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.
Judah siangpahrang Asa siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning quithum, tazetto naah, Omri capa Ahab loe Israel siangpahrang ah oh; anih loe Samaria vangpui ah, Israel kaminawk to saning pumphae hnetto thung uk.
30 Ahab the son of Omri did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight above all that were before him.
Omri capa Ahab loe anih hmaa ah kaom kaminawk boih pong kanung kue ah, Angraeng mikhnuk ah kahoih ai hmuen to sak.
31 As if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal and worshipped him.
Nebat capa Jeroboam mah sak ih zaehaih loklam ah pazui nahaeloe, tidoeh na ai zaehaih ah ni om tih, tiah a poek pongah, Sidon siangpahrang Ethbaal canu Jezebel to a zu haih; Baal ih tok to sak pae moe, anih to a bok.
32 He raised up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.
Baal hanah hmaicam to, Samaria vangpui ah, angmah sak pae ih, Baal tempul thungah a suek.
33 Ahab made the Asherah; and Ahab did more yet to provoke the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him.
Ahab loe anih hmaa ah kaom Israel siangpahrangnawk boih pong pop kue ah Asherah thingnawk to sak moe, Israel Angraeng Sithaw to palungphuisak.
34 In his days Hiel the Bethelite built Jericho. He laid its foundation with the loss of Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates with the loss of his youngest son Segub, according to the LORD’s word, which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.
Ahab dung ah, Bethel vangpui ih kami Hiel mah, Jeriko vangpui to sak; Nun capa Joshua khaeah Sithaw mah thuih ih lok baktih toengah, a calu Abiram ban thungah, vangpui sipae to sak amtong moe, capa asoi koek Segub ban thungah vangpui khongkhanawk to sak.
