Revelation 10
1 I saw a mighty angel coming down out of the sky, clothed with a cloud. A rainbow was on his head. His face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire.
Puis, je vis descendre du ciel un autre ange plein de force, qui était enveloppé d'un nuage. Au-dessus de sa tête était l'arc-en-ciel; son visage était comme le soleil, et ses pieds comme des colonnes de feu.
2 He had in his hand a little open book. He set his right foot on the sea, and his left on the land.
Il tenait à la main un petit livre ouvert: il posa son pied droit sur la mer, le gauche sur la terre,
3 He cried with a loud voice, as a lion roars. When he cried, the seven thunders uttered their voices.
et il jeta un grand cri, pareil au rugissement d'un lion; quand il eut jeté ce cri, les sept tonnerres firent entendre leurs voix.
4 When the seven thunders sounded, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from the sky saying, “Seal up the things which the seven thunders said, and don’t write them.”
Quand les sept tonnerres eurent fait entendre leurs voix, j'allais écrire, mais j'entendis une voix venant du ciel, qui disait: Tiens secrètes les choses que les sept tonnerres ont dites, et ne les écris point.
5 The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land lifted up his right hand to the sky
Alors l'ange, que j'avais vu debout sur la mer et sur la terre, leva sa main droite vers le ciel
6 and swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there will no longer be delay, (aiōn g165)
et il jura — par Celui qui vit aux siècles des siècles, qui a créé le ciel et les choses qui y sont, la terre et tout ce qu'elle renferme, la mer et les choses qui s'y trouvent, — qu'il n'y aurait plus aucun délai; (aiōn g165)
7 but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, then the mystery of God is finished, as he declared to his servants the prophets.
mais qu'aux jours où le septième ange ferait entendre sa voix et sonnerait de la trompette, le mystère de Dieu s'accomplirait, comme il l'avait annoncé à ses serviteurs, les prophètes.
8 The voice which I heard from heaven, again speaking with me, said, “Go, take the book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the land.”
La voix que j'avais entendue venant du ciel, me parla encore et me dit: Va, prends le petit livre ouvert, dans la main de l'ange qui se tient debout sur la mer et sur la terre.
9 I went to the angel, telling him to give me the little book. He said to me, “Take it and eat it. It will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.”
J'allai donc vers l'ange, et je lui demandai de me donner le petit livre. Il me dit: Prends-le et dévore-le! Il sera amer à tes entrailles; mais dans ta bouche il sera doux comme du miel.
10 I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it. It was as sweet as honey in my mouth. When I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter.
Je pris le petit livre de la main de l'ange, et je le dévorai. Dans ma bouche il fut doux comme du miel; mais quand je l'eus dévoré, je ressentis de l'amertume dans mes entrailles.
11 They told me, “You must prophesy again over many peoples, nations, languages, and kings.”
Puis on me dit: Il faut que tu prophétises encore au sujet de beaucoup de peuples, de nations, de langues et de rois.
