Psalms 73
1 A Psalm by Asaph. Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.

2 But as for me, my feet were almost gone. My steps had nearly slipped.

3 For I was envious of the arrogant, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

4 For there are no struggles in their death, but their strength is firm.
Ahnimouh teh a due awh hoehroukrak patawnae khang awh hoeh, a tha pou ao awh.
5 They are free from burdens of men, neither are they plagued like other men.
Ayânaw patetlah runae dawk awm awh hoeh, ayânaw patetlah kuekluek pataw awh hoeh.
6 Therefore pride is like a chain around their neck. Violence covers them like a garment.
Hatdawkvah, kâoupnae teh awi lah a awi awh teh, rektapnae khohna hah a khohna awh.
7 Their eyes bulge with fat. Their minds pass the limits of conceit.

8 They scoff and speak with malice. In arrogance, they threaten oppression.

11 They say, “How does God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?”

12 Behold, these are the wicked. Being always at ease, they increase in riches.
Khenhaw! hetnaw heh Cathut ka bari hoeh e, banghai pouk laipalah ka hring e lah ao awh teh, hoehoe a tawnta awh.
13 Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence,
Ka lungthin kathoung sak nakunghai, atangcalah cungkeihoeh. Yon thuengnae lahoi ka kut ka pâsu nakunghai cungkeihoeh.
14 For all day long I have been plagued, and punished every morning.
Hnin tangkuem tarawknae hoi amom karoitawi yuenae doeh ka khang.
15 If I had said, “I will speak thus”, behold, I would have betrayed the generation of your children.
Hottelah ka dei han ka tet pawiteh, khenhaw! na catounnaw koe torei teh, tamikalan hoeh lah kaawm han.
16 When I tried to understand this, it was too painful for me—
Hetheh, thaipanuek nahanelah ka pouk torei teh, hothateh kai hanelah ka pataw katang e lah ao.
17 until I entered God’s sanctuary, and considered their latter end.
Cathut hmuen kathoung koe kâen toteh, ahnimouh poutnae heh ka thaipanuek katang toe.
18 Surely you set them in slippery places. You throw them down to destruction.
Ahnimouh teh pâhnannae koe na ta teh, rawkphainae hmuen koe na tâkhawng.
19 How they are suddenly destroyed! They are completely swept away with terrors.
Oe, bangtelah, tawkkadek dawk rawknae koe louk a pha awh vaw. Takitho e ni koung louk a ca awh vaw.
20 As a dream when one wakes up, so, Lord, when you awake, you will despise their fantasies.
Kâhlaw toteh, karum mang patetlah, Bawipa na pâhlaw toteh, ahnimae meikaphawk hah na pacekpahlek pouh han.
21 For my soul was grieved. I was embittered in my heart.
Hot patetlah ka lungthin a pataw teh, ka pouknae hai a ru.
22 I was so senseless and ignorant. I was a brute beast before you.
Panuenae ka tawn hoeh e hoi tamipathu lah ka o teh, na hmalah saring patetlah doeh ka o.
23 Nevertheless, I am continually with you. You have held my right hand.
Hatei nakunghai, nang koe pou ka o teh, aranglae kut dawk na kuet pouh.
24 You will guide me with your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
Na mae kâpankhainae lahoi lam na hrawi teh, hathnukkhu bawilennae hah na coe pouh.
25 Whom do I have in heaven? There is no one on earth whom I desire besides you.
Kalvan vah nang laipalah apimouh ka tawn. Talaivan hai nang laipalah, ka ngai e alouke awm hoeh toe.
26 My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Ka takthai hoi ka lungthin teh a tâwn. Hatei, Cathut teh, a yungyoe hoi ka lungthin thaonae hoi ham lah ao.
27 For, behold, those who are far from you shall perish. You have destroyed all those who are unfaithful to you.
Bangkongtetpawiteh, nang hoi kâhlat e teh, kahmat awh roeroe han doeh. Nang koe kâyawt e pueng teh raphoe lah ao han.
28 But it is good for me to come close to God. I have made the Lord Yahweh my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.
Hateiteh, kai hanelah teh Cathut hnai e heh ahawi. Na sak e hno pueng heh ka kamnue sak thai nahanlah, Bawipa Jehovah dawk doeh ka kâuep toe.
