Psalms 29

1 A Psalm by David. Ascribe to Yahweh, you sons of the mighty, ascribe to Yahweh glory and strength.

Thaburi ya Daudi Rahai Jehova, inyuĩ ciũmbe cia igũrũ, rahai Jehova tondũ nĩwe ũrĩ riiri na hinya.

2 Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due to his name. Worship Yahweh in holy array.

Rahai Jehova, mũheane ũhoro wa riiri wa rĩĩtwa rĩake; thathaiyai Jehova thĩinĩ wa ũkengi wa ũthingu wake.

3 Yahweh’s voice is on the waters. The God of glory thunders, even Yahweh on many waters.

Mũgambo wa Jehova ũragamba na kũu iria-inĩ; Mũrungu ũcio wa riiri nĩararuruma, Jehova araruruma igũrũ rĩa maaĩ maingĩ.

4 Yahweh’s voice is powerful. Yahweh’s voice is full of majesty.

Mũgambo wa Jehova nĩ ũrĩ ũhoti; mũgambo wa Jehova ũiyũrĩte riiri.

5 Yahweh’s voice breaks the cedars. Yes, Yahweh breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.

Mũgambo wa Jehova unangaga mĩtarakwa; Jehova oinangaga mĩtarakwa ya Lebanoni ĩgatuĩka tũcunjĩ.

6 He makes them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young, wild ox.

Atũmaga bũrũri wa Lebanoni ũtũũhe ta njaũ, nakĩo Kĩrĩma gĩa Sirioni gĩgatũũha ta njaũ ya mbogo.

7 Yahweh’s voice strikes with flashes of lightning.

Mũgambo wa Jehova ũhenũkaga nĩnĩmbĩ cia mwaki.

8 Yahweh’s voice shakes the wilderness. Yahweh shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.

Mũgambo wa Jehova ũinainagia werũ; Jehova ainainagia Werũ wa Kadeshi.

9 Yahweh’s voice makes the deer calve, and strips the forests bare. In his temple everything says, “Glory!”

Mũgambo wa Jehova ũthioraga mĩtĩ ya mĩgandi, na ũgatũma mĩtitũ ĩhũrũrũke ĩgatigwo ũtheri. Nakuo hekarũ-inĩ yake arĩa othe marĩ kuo makaanĩrĩra makoiga, “Kaĩ arĩ riiri-ĩ!”

10 Yahweh sat enthroned at the Flood. Yes, Yahweh sits as King forever.

Jehova arĩ igũrũ rĩa mũiyũro wa maaĩ aikarĩire gĩtĩ kĩa ũnene; Jehova egũtũũra aikarĩire gĩtĩ kĩa ũnene arĩ Mũthamaki nginya tene.

11 Yahweh will give strength to his people. Yahweh will bless his people with peace.

Jehova aheaga andũ ake hinya; Jehova arathimaga andũ ake magaikara na thayũ.
