Psalms 113

1 Praise Yah! Praise, you servants of Yahweh, praise Yahweh’s name.

Hallelúja! Þið þjónar Drottins, lofið nafn hans.

2 Blessed be Yahweh’s name, from this time forward and forever more.

Lofað sé nafn hans um aldur og ævi!

3 From the rising of the sun to its going down, Yahweh’s name is to be praised.

Vegsamið hann frá sólarupprás til sólarlags!

4 Yahweh is high above all nations, his glory above the heavens.

Því að hann er hátt upphafinn yfir þjóðirnar og dýrð hans er himnunum hærri.

5 Who is like Yahweh, our God, who has his seat on high,

Hver kemst í samjöfnuð við Guð hinn hæsta?

6 who stoops down to see in heaven and in the earth?

Hann situr hátt og horfir niður á himin og jörð.

7 He raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts up the needy from the ash heap,

Hann reisir hinn fátæka úr skítnum, leiðir hinn hungraða frá sorphaugnum

8 that he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.

og fær þeim sæti með tignarmönnum!

9 He settles the barren woman in her home as a joyful mother of children. Praise Yah!

Fyrir hans hjálp verður hún hamingjusöm móðir – konan sem ekki gat fætt manni sínum börn. Hallelúja! Lof sé Drottni!
