< Proverbs 1 >

1 The proverbs of Solomon, the son of David, king of Israel:
Zvirevo zvaSoromoni mwanakomana waDhavhidhi, mambo weIsraeri:
2 to know wisdom and instruction; to discern the words of understanding;
kuti uwane uchenjeri nokurayirwa; nokunzwisisa mashoko enjere;
3 to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity;
kuti uve noupenyu hwokuzvibata hune uchenjeri uchiita zvakarurama nokururamisira uye nokuenzanisira;
4 to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young man—
kuti vasina mano vapiwe uchenjeri, jaya ripiwe ruzivo namano,
5 that the wise man may hear, and increase in learning; that the man of understanding may attain to sound counsel;
vakachenjera ngavanzwe uye vagowedzera pakudzidza kwavo, uye vanonzvera ngavawane kutungamirirwa,
6 to understand a proverb and parables, the words and riddles of the wise.
kuti vanzwisise zvirevo nemifananidzo, mashoko nezvirahwe zvavakachenjera.
7 The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge, but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.
Kutya Jehovha ndiwo mavambo ezivo, asi mapenzi anoshora uchenjeri nokurayirwa.
8 My son, listen to your father’s instruction, and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching;
Mwanakomana wangu, teerera, kurayira kwababa vako, uye usarasa kudzidzisa kwamai vako.
9 for they will be a garland to grace your head, and chains around your neck.
Zvichava chishongo chakanaka pamusoro wako nouketani hunoshongedza mutsipa wako.
10 My son, if sinners entice you, don’t consent.
Mwanakomana wangu, kana vatadzi vachikukwezva, usabvuma zvavari kuda kuti uite.
11 If they say, “Come with us. Let’s lie in wait for blood. Let’s lurk secretly for the innocent without cause.
Kana vakati, “Handei tose; ngativandirei munhu timuuraye; ngativandirei mweya usina mhosva;
12 Let’s swallow them up alive like Sheol, and whole, like those who go down into the pit. (Sheol h7585)
ngativamedzei vari vapenyu, seguva, uye vakakwana kudaro savaya vanodzika mugomba; (Sheol h7585)
13 We’ll find all valuable wealth. We’ll fill our houses with plunder.
tichawana marudzi ose ezvinhu zvinokosha tigozadza dzimba dzedu nezvatichapamba;
14 You shall cast your lot among us. We’ll all have one purse”—
isa zvinhu zvako pamwe chete nesu, tigova nechikwama chimwe chete,”
15 my son, don’t walk on the path with them. Keep your foot from their path,
mwanakomana wangu, usabvumirana navo, usaisa rutsoka panzira dzavo;
16 for their feet run to evil. They hurry to shed blood.
nokuti tsoka dzavo dzinomhanyira muchivi, vanokurumidza kundodeura ropa.
17 For the net is spread in vain in the sight of any bird;
Hazvibatsiri sei kutambanudza mumbure shiri dzose dzichinyatsoona!
18 but these lay in wait for their own blood. They lurk secretly for their own lives.
Varume ava vanovandira ropa ravo vomene; vanozvivandira ivo pachavo!
19 So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain. It takes away the life of its owners.
Aya ndiwo magumo avaya vanotsvaka pfuma nenzira yakaipa; inouraya vaya vanoiwana.
20 Wisdom calls aloud in the street. She utters her voice in the public squares.
Uchenjeri hunodanidzira nenzwi guru mumugwagwa, hunokwidza inzwi rahwo pachivara;
21 She calls at the head of noisy places. At the entrance of the city gates, she utters her words:
kumusoro kwemigwagwa ine ruzha hunodanidzira, pamasuo eguta hunotaura shoko rahwo huchiti:
22 “How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery, and fools hate knowledge?
“Kusvikira riniko imi vasina mano, muchingoda kugara musina mano? Kusvikira riniko vaseki vachifarira kuseka, uye mapenzi achivenga zivo?
23 Turn at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make known my words to you.
Dai makateerera kutsiura kwangu, ndingadai ndakadurura mwoyo wangu kwamuri uye ndakazivisa pfungwa dzangu kwamuri.
24 Because I have called, and you have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention;
Asi sezvo makandiramba pandakakudanai uye pasina kana mumwe akateerera pandakatambanudza ruoko rwangu,
25 but you have ignored all my counsel, and wanted none of my reproof;
sezvo makashaya hanya nokurayira kwangu, uye mukasagamuchira kutsiura kwangu,
26 I also will laugh at your disaster. I will mock when calamity overtakes you,
iniwo ndichaseka panguva yenjodzi yenyu; ndichaseka dambudziko parichakusvikirai,
27 when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when your disaster comes on like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come on you.
dambudziko parichakukundai sedutu, njodzi paichavhuvhuta pamusoro penyu sechamupupuri, nhamo namatambudziko pazvichakukundai.
28 Then they will call on me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me,
“Ipapo vachadana kwandiri asi ini handingavapinduri; vachanditsvaka asi havangandiwani.
29 because they hated knowledge, and didn’t choose the fear of Yahweh.
Sezvo vakavenga zivo uye vakasasarudza kutya Jehovha,
30 They wanted none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof.
sezvo vasina kugamuchira yambiro yangu, uye vakashora kutsiura kwangu,
31 Therefore they will eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own schemes.
vachadya zvibereko zvenzira dzavo uye vachazadzwa nezvibereko zvemano avo.
32 For the backsliding of the simple will kill them. The careless ease of fools will destroy them.
Nokuti kusateerera kwavasina mano kuchavaurayisa, uye kushaya hanya kwamapenzi kuchavaparadza;
33 But whoever listens to me will dwell securely, and will be at ease, without fear of harm.”
asi ani naani achanditeerera achagara murugare, uye achagara akasununguka, asingatyi kuparadzwa.”
