Philippians 4
1 Therefore, my brothers, beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, my beloved.
Ainsi donc, mes bien-aimés et très chers frères, ma joie et ma couronne, demeurez fermes dans le Seigneur, mes bien-aimés.
2 I exhort Euodia, and I exhort Syntyche, to think the same way in the Lord.
J'exhorte Évodie et j'exhorte Syntyche à avoir un même sentiment dans le Seigneur.
3 Yes, I beg you also, true partner, help these women, for they labored with me in the Good News with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.
Je te prie aussi, fidèle collègue, de leur venir en aide, parce qu'elles ont combattu pour l'Evangile avec moi, ainsi que Clément et mes autres compagnons d'oeuvre, dont les noms sont dans le livre de vie.
4 Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, “Rejoice!”
Réjouissez-vous toujours dans le Seigneur. Oui, je le dirai encore: Réjouissez-vous.
5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
Que votre douceur soit connue de tous les hommes. Le Seigneur est proche!
6 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
Ne vous inquiétez de rien, mais, en toute occasion, présentez vos demandes à Dieu par des prières et des supplications, avec des actions de grâces.
7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
Et la paix de Dieu, qui surpasse toute intelligence, gardera vos coeurs et vos pensées en Jésus-Christ.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report: if there is any virtue and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
Au reste, mes frères, que tout ce qui est vrai, tout ce qui est honorable, tout ce qui est juste, tout ce qui est pur, tout ce qui est aimable, tout ce qui a bonne réputation, tout ce qui est vertueux et digne de louange, que toutes ces choses occupent vos pensées.
9 Do the things which you learned, received, heard, and saw in me, and the God of peace will be with you.
Ce que vous avez appris, reçu, entendu de moi, ce que vous avez vu en moi, faites-le, et le Dieu de paix sera avec vous.
10 But I rejoice in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your thought for me; in which you did indeed take thought, but you lacked opportunity.
J'ai éprouvé une grande joie, dans le Seigneur, de ce que votre intérêt pour moi a enfin porté de nouveaux fruits; vous y pensiez bien, mais l'occasion vous manquait.
11 Not that I speak because of lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it.
Non pas que je veuille parler de mes besoins; car j'ai appris à être content de l'état où je me trouve.
12 I know how to be humbled, and I also know how to abound. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need.
Je sais être dans la pauvreté, je sais aussi être dans l'abondance. En tout et partout, j'ai appris à être rassasié comme à avoir faim, à être dans l'abondance comme à être dans la disette.
13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Je puis tout par Celui qui me fortifie.
14 However you did well that you shared in my affliction.
Néanmoins, vous avez bien fait de prendre part à mon affliction.
15 You yourselves also know, you Philippians, that in the beginning of the Good News, when I departed from Macedonia, no assembly shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you only.
Vous le savez aussi, vous Philippiens, lorsque je commençai à prêcher l'Evangile, en quittant la Macédoine, aucune Eglise, si ce n'est la vôtre, n'entra en rapport avec moi pour établir entre nous un échange de dons;
16 For even in Thessalonica you sent once and again to my need.
car, à Thessalonique déjà, et par deux fois, vous m'avez envoyé de quoi subvenir à mes besoins.
17 Not that I seek for the gift, but I seek for the fruit that increases to your account.
Ce n'est pas que je recherche des présents, mais je recherche le fruit abondant qui vous en revient.
18 But I have all things and abound. I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things that came from you, a sweet-smelling fragrance, an acceptable and well-pleasing sacrifice to God.
J'ai donc tout reçu, et je suis dans l'abondance; je suis comblé, ayant reçu d'Épaphrodite ce que vous m'avez envoyé, comme un parfum de bonne odeur, un sacrifice que Dieu accepte et qui lui est agréable.
19 My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Mon Dieu pourvoira aussi à tous vos besoins, selon sa richesse et avec gloire, par Jésus-Christ.
A Dieu, notre Père, soit la gloire aux siècles des siècles! Amen. (aiōn g165)
21 Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you.
Saluez tous les saints en Jésus-Christ. Les frères qui se trouvent avec moi vous saluent.
22 All the saints greet you, especially those who are of Caesar’s household.
Tous les saints vous saluent, et principalement ceux qui sont de la maison de César.
23 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
Que la grâce du Seigneur Jésus-Christ soit avec votre esprit!
