Matthew 7
1 “Don’t judge, so that you won’t be judged.
১তোমরা বিচার করো না, যেন বিচারিত না হও।
2 For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you.
২কারণ যেরকম বিচারে তোমরা বিচার কর, সেই রকম বিচারে তোমরাও বিচারিত হবে; এবং তোমরা যে পরিমাণে পরিমাপ কর, সেই পরিমাণে তোমাদের জন্য পরিমাপ করা যাবে।
3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t consider the beam that is in your own eye?
৩আর তোমার ভাইয়ের চোখে যে কুটো আছে, তাই কেন দেখছ, কিন্তু তোমার নিজের চোখে যে কড়িকাঠ আছে, তা কেন ভেবে দেখছ না?
4 Or how will you tell your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye,’ and behold, the beam is in your own eye?
৪অথবা তুমি কেমন করে নিজের ভাইকে বলবে, এস, আমি তোমার চোখ থেকে কুটোটা বের করে দিই? আর দেখ, তোমার নিজের চোখে কড়িকাঠ রয়েছে।
5 You hypocrite! First remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother’s eye.
৫হে ভণ্ড, আগে নিজের চোখ থেকে কড়িকাঠ বের করে ফেল, আর তখন তোমার ভাইয়ের চোখ থেকে কুটোটা বের করবার জন্য স্পষ্ট দেখতে পাবে।
6 “Don’t give that which is holy to the dogs, neither throw your pearls before the pigs, lest perhaps they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.
৬পবিত্র জিনিস কুকুরদেরকে দিও না এবং তোমাদের মুক্তা শূকরদের সামনে ফেলো না; যদি তারা পা দিয়ে তা দলায় এবং ফিরে তোমাদের টুকরো টুকরো করে ছিঁড়ে ফেলে।
7 “Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you.
৭চাও, তোমাদের দেওয়া হবে, খোঁজ কর, তোমরা পাবে; দরজায় আঘাত কর, তোমাদের জন্য খুলে দেওয়া হবে।
8 For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.
৮কারণ যে কেউ চায়, সে গ্রহণ করে এবং যে খোঁজ করে, সে পায়; আর যে আঘাত করে, তার জন্য খুলে দেওয়া হবে।
9 Or who is there among you who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?
৯তোমাদের মধ্যে এমন লোক কে যে, যার ছেলে রুটি চাইলে তাকে পাথর দেবে,
10 Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent?
১০কিংবা মাছ চাইলে তাকে সাপ দেবে?
11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
১১অতএব তোমরা মন্দ হয়েও যদি তোমাদের সন্তানদের ভালো ভালো জিনিস দিতে জান, তবে কত না বেশি তোমাদের স্বর্গের পিতা দেবেন, যারা তাঁর কাছে চায়, তাদের ভালো ভালো জিনিস দেবেন।
12 Therefore, whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets.
১২অতএব সব বিষয়ে তোমরা যা যা ইচ্ছা কর যে, লোকে তোমাদের প্রতি করে, তোমরাও তাদের প্রতি সেই রকম কর; কারণ এটাই আইনের ও ভাববাদী গ্রন্থের মূল বিষয়।
13 “Enter in by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in by it.
১৩সরু দরজা দিয়ে প্রবেশ কর; কারণ বিনাশে যাবার দরজা চওড়া ও পথ চওড়া এবং অনেকেই তা দিয়ে প্রবেশ করে;
14 How narrow is the gate and the way is restricted that leads to life! There are few who find it.
১৪কারণ জীবনে যাবার দরজা সরু ও পথ কঠিন এবং অল্প লোকেই তা পায়।
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.
১৫নকল ভাববাদীদের থেকে সাবধান; তারা মেষের বেশে তোমাদের কাছে আসে, কিন্তু ভিতরে গ্রাসকারী নেকড়ে বাঘ।
16 By their fruits you will know them. Do you gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles?
১৬তোমরা তাদের ফলের মাধ্যমে তাদের চিনতে পারবে। লোকে কি কাঁটাগাছ থেকে দ্রাক্ষাফল, কিংবা শিয়ালকাঁটা থেকে ডুমুরফল জোগাড় করে?
17 Even so, every good tree produces good fruit, but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit.
১৭সেই প্রকারে প্রত্যেক ভাল গাছে ভাল ফল ধরে, খারাপ গাছে খারাপ ফল ধরে।
18 A good tree can’t produce evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit.
১৮ভাল গাছে খারাপ ফল ধরতে পারে না এবং খারাপ গাছে ভাল ফল ধরতে পারে না।
19 Every tree that doesn’t grow good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
১৯যে কোন গাছে ভাল ফল ধরে না, তা কেটে আগুনে ফেলে দেওয়া যায়।
20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
২০অতএব তোমরা ওদের ফলের মাধ্যমে ওদেরকে চিনতে পারবে।
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
২১যারা আমাকে হে প্রভু, হে প্রভু বলে, তারা সবাই যে স্বর্গরাজ্যে প্রবেশ করতে পারবে, এমন নয়, কিন্তু যে ব্যক্তি আমার স্বর্গস্থ পিতার ইচ্ছা পালন করে, সেই পারবে।
22 Many will tell me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?’
২২সেই দিন অনেকে আমাকে বলবে, হে প্রভু, হে প্রভু, আপনার নামেই আমরা কি ভাববাণী বলিনি? আপনার নামেই কি ভূত ছাড়াই নি? আপনার নামেই কি অনেক আশ্চর্য্য কাজ করিনি?
23 Then I will tell them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.’
২৩তখন আমি তাদের স্পষ্টই বলব, আমি কখনও তোমাদের জানি না; হে অধর্মাচারীরা, আমার কাছ থেকে দূর হও।
24 “Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock.
২৪অতএব যে কেউ আমার এই সব কথা শুনে পালন করে, তাকে এমন একজন বুদ্ধিমান লোক বলা যাবে, যে পাথরের উপরে নিজের ঘর তৈরী করল।
25 The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it didn’t fall, for it was founded on the rock.
২৫পরে বৃষ্টি নামল, বন্যা এলো, বাতাস বয়ে গেল এবং সেই ঘরে লাগল, তা সত্বেও তা পড়ল না, কারণ পাথরের উপরে তার ভিত্তিমূল স্থাপিত হয়েছিল।
26 Everyone who hears these words of mine and doesn’t do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
২৬আর যে কেউ আমার এই সব কথা শুনে পালন না করে, সে এমন একজন বোকা লোকের মত, যে বালির উপরে নিজের ঘর তৈরী করল।
27 The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell—and its fall was great.”
২৭পরে বৃষ্টি নামল, বন্যা এলো, বাতাস বয়ে গেল এবং সেই ঘরে আঘাত করল, তাতে তা পড়ে গেল ও তার পতন ঘোরতর হল।
28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the multitudes were astonished at his teaching,
২৮যীশু যখন এই সব কথা শেষ করলেন, লোকরা তাঁর শিক্ষায় চমৎকৃত হল;
29 for he taught them with authority, and not like the scribes.
২৯কারণ তিনি ক্ষমতাপন্ন ব্যক্তির মত তাদের শিক্ষা দিতেন, তাদের ব্যবস্থার শিক্ষকদের মত নয়।
