Matthew 15
1 Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem, saying,
Entonces llegaron a Jesús ciertos escribas y Fariseos de Jerusalem, diciendo:
2 “Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their hands when they eat bread.”
¿Por qué tus discípulos traspasan la tradición de los ancianos? porque no lavan sus manos cuando comen pan.
3 He answered them, “Why do you also disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition?
Y él respondiendo, les dijo: ¿Por qué también vosotros traspasáis el mandamiento de Dios por vuestra tradición?
4 For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’
Porque Dios mandó, diciendo: Honra a tu padre y a tu madre; y: El que maldijere a padre o a madre, muera de muerte.
5 But you say, ‘Whoever may tell his father or his mother, “Whatever help you might otherwise have gotten from me is a gift devoted to God,”
Mas vosotros decís: Cualquiera que dijere a su padre o a su madre: Toda ofrenda mía a ti aprovechará;
6 he shall not honor his father or mother.’ You have made the commandment of God void because of your tradition.
Y no honrare a su padre o a su madre, será libre. Así habéis invalidado el mandamiento de Dios por vuestra tradición.
7 You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
Hipócritas, bien profetizó de vosotros Isaías, diciendo:
8 ‘These people draw near to me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
Este pueblo con su boca se acerca a mí, y con sus labios me honra; mas su corazón lejos está de mí.
9 And they worship me in vain, teaching as doctrine rules made by men.’”
Mas en vano me honran enseñando como doctrinas, mandamientos de hombres.
10 He summoned the multitude, and said to them, “Hear, and understand.
Y llamando a sí a la multitud, les dijo: Oíd, y entendéd.
11 That which enters into the mouth doesn’t defile the man; but that which proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.”
No lo que entra en la boca contamina al hombre; mas lo que sale de la boca, esto contamina al hombre.
12 Then the disciples came and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”
Entonces llegándose sus discípulos, le dijeron: ¿Sabes que los Fariseos oyendo esta palabra se ofendieron?
13 But he answered, “Every plant which my heavenly Father didn’t plant will be uprooted.
Mas respondiendo él, dijo: Toda planta que no plantó mi Padre celestial será desarraigada.
14 Leave them alone. They are blind guides of the blind. If the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.”
Dejádlos: guias son ciegos de ciegos; y si el ciego guiare al ciego, ambos caerán en el hoyo.
15 Peter answered him, “Explain the parable to us.”
Y respondiendo Pedro, le dijo: Decláranos esta parábola.
16 So Jesus said, “Do you also still not understand?
Y Jesús dijo: ¿Aun también vosotros sois sin entendimiento?
17 Don’t you understand that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the belly and then out of the body?
¿No entendéis aun, que todo lo que entra en la boca, va al vientre, y es echado en la necesaria?
18 But the things which proceed out of the mouth come out of the heart, and they defile the man.
Mas lo que sale de la boca, del mismo corazón sale, y esto contamina al hombre.
19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies.
Porque del corazón salen los malos pensamientos, muertes, adulterios, fornicaciones, hurtos, falsos testimonios, blasfemias.
20 These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands doesn’t defile the man.”
Estas cosas son las que contaminan al hombre; que comer con las manos por lavar no contamina al hombre.
21 Jesus went out from there and withdrew into the region of Tyre and Sidon.
Y saliendo Jesús de allí, se fue a las partes de Tiro y de Sidón.
22 Behold, a Canaanite woman came out from those borders and cried, saying, “Have mercy on me, Lord, you son of David! My daughter is severely possessed by a demon!”
Y, he aquí, una mujer Cananea, que había salido de aquellos términos, clamaba, diciéndole: Señor, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí: mi hija es malamente atormentada del demonio.
23 But he answered her not a word. His disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away; for she cries after us.”
Mas él no le respondió palabra. Entonces llegándose sus discípulos, le rogaron, diciendo: Envíala, que da voces tras nosotros.
24 But he answered, “I wasn’t sent to anyone but the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
Y él respondiendo, dijo: No soy enviado sino a las ovejas perdidas de la casa de Israel.
25 But she came and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, help me.”
Entonces ella vino, y le adoró, diciendo: Señor, socórreme.
26 But he answered, “It is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”
Y respondiendo él, dijo: No es bien tomar el pan de los hijos, y echar lo a los perrillos.
27 But she said, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”
Y ella dijo: Así es Señor; pero los perros comen de las migajas que caen de la mesa de sus señores.
28 Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, great is your faith! Be it done to you even as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.
Entonces respondiendo Jesús, dijo: ¡O mujer! grande es tu fe: sea hecho contigo como quieres. Y fue sana su hija desde aquella hora.
29 Jesus departed from there and came near to the sea of Galilee; and he went up on the mountain and sat there.
Y partido Jesús de allí, vino junto al mar de Galilea; y subiendo en un monte, se sentó allí.
30 Great multitudes came to him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and they put them down at his feet. He healed them,
Y llegaron a él grandes multitudes, que tenían consigo cojos, ciegos, mudos, mancos, y otros muchos enfermos, y los echaron a los pies de Jesús, y los sanó:
31 so that the multitude wondered when they saw the mute speaking, the injured healed, the lame walking, and the blind seeing—and they glorified the God of Israel.
De tal manera, que las multitudes se maravillaron, viendo hablar los mudos, los mancos sanos, andar los cojos, ver los ciegos; y glorificaron al Dios de Israel.
32 Jesus summoned his disciples and said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have continued with me now three days and have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away fasting, or they might faint on the way.”
Y Jesús llamando a sus discípulos, dijo: Tengo misericordia de la multitud, que ya hace tres días que perseveran conmigo, y no tienen que comer; y enviarlos ayunos no quiero; porque no desmayen en el camino.
33 The disciples said to him, “Where could we get so many loaves in a deserted place as to satisfy so great a multitude?”
Entonces sus discípulos le dicen: ¿Dónde tenemos nosotros tantos panes en el desierto, que hartemos tan gran multitud?
34 Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven, and a few small fish.”
Y Jesús les dice: ¿Cuántos panes tenéis? Y ellos dijeron: Siete, y unos pocos pececillos.
35 He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground;
Y mandó a las multitudes que se recostasen en tierra.
36 and he took the seven loaves and the fish. He gave thanks and broke them, and gave to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes.
Y tomando los siete panes y los peces, dando gracias, los rompió, y dio a sus discípulos, y los discípulos a la multitud.
37 They all ate and were filled. They took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces that were left over.
Y comieron todos, y se hartaron; y alzaron lo que sobró de los pedazos, siete espuertas llenas.
38 Those who ate were four thousand men, in addition to women and children.
Y eran los que habían comido cuatro mil varones, sin las mujeres y los niños.
39 Then he sent away the multitudes, got into the boat, and came into the borders of Magdala.
Entonces despedidas las multitudes, subió en una nave, y vino a los términos de Magdala.
