Luke 24
1 But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they and some others came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.
Pero el primer día de la semana, muy de mañana, volvieron al sepulcro, llevando los aromas que habían preparado.
2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb.
hallaron la piedra desarrimada del sepulcro.
3 They entered in, and didn’t find the Lord Jesus’ body.
Habiendo entrado, no encontraron el cuerpo del Señor Jesús.
4 While they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing.
Mientras ellas estaban perplejas por esto, he ahí que dos varones de vestidura resplandeciente se les presentaron.
5 Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. The men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?
Como ellas estuviesen poseídas de miedo e inclinasen los rostros hacia el suelo, ellos les dijeron: “¿Por qué buscáis entre los muertos al que vive?
6 He isn’t here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,
No está aquí; ha resucitado. Acordaos de lo que os dijo, estando aún en Galilea:
7 saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and the third day rise again?”
que era necesario que el Hijo del hombre fuese entregado en manos de hombres pecadores, que fuese crucificado y resucitara el tercer día”.
8 They remembered his words,
Entonces se acordaron de sus palabras.
9 returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.
Y de vuelta del sepulcro, fueron a anunciar todo esto a los Once y a todos los demás.
10 Now they were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James. The other women with them told these things to the apostles.
Eran María la Magdalena, Juana y María la ( madre ) de Santiago; y también las otras con ellas referían esto a los apóstoles.
11 These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they didn’t believe them.
Pero estos relatos aparecieron ante los ojos de ellos como un delirio, y no les dieron crédito.
12 But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened.
Sin embargo Pedro se levantó y corrió al sepulcro, y, asomándose, vio las mortajas solas. Y se volvió, maravillándose de lo que había sucedido.
13 Behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was sixty stadia from Jerusalem.
Y he aquí que, en aquel mismo día, dos de ellos se dirigían a una aldea, llamada Emaús, a ciento sesenta estadios de Jerusalén.
14 They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened.
E iban comentando entre sí todos estos acontecimientos.
15 While they talked and questioned together, Jesus himself came near, and went with them.
Y sucedió que, mientras ellos platicaban y discutían, Jesús mismo se acercó y se puso a caminar con ellos.
16 But their eyes were kept from recognizing him.
Pero sus ojos estaban deslumbrados para que no lo conociesen.
17 He said to them, “What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?”
Y les dijo: “¿Qué palabras son estas que tratáis entre vosotros andando?”
18 One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things which have happened there in these days?”
Y se detuvieron con los rostros entristecidos. Uno, llamado Cleofás, le respondió: “Eres Tú el único peregrino, que estando en Jerusalén, no sabes lo que ha sucedido en ella en estos días?”
19 He said to them, “What things?” They said to him, “The things concerning Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;
Les dijo: “¿Qué cosas?” Y ellos: “Lo de Jesús el Nazareno, que fue varón profeta, poderoso en obra y palabra delante de Dios y de todo el pueblo,
20 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.
y cómo lo entregaron nuestros sumos sacerdotes y nuestros magistrados para ser condenado a muerte, y lo crucificaron.
21 But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened.
Nosotros, a la verdad, esperábamos que fuera Él, aquel que habría de librar a Israel. Pero, con todo, ya es el tercer día desde que sucedieron estas cosas.
22 Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb;
Y todavía más, algunas mujeres de los nuestros, nos han desconcertado, pues fueron de madrugada al sepulcro,
23 and when they didn’t find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.
y no habiendo encontrado su cuerpo se volvieron, diciendo también que ellas habían tenido una visión de ángeles, los que dicen que Él está vivo.
24 Some of us went to the tomb and found it just like the women had said, but they didn’t see him.”
Algunos de los que están con nosotros han ido al sepulcro, y han encontrado las cosas como las mujeres habían dicho; pero a Él no lo han visto”.
25 He said to them, “Foolish people, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!
Entonces les dijo: “¡Oh hombres sin inteligencia y tardos de corazón para creer todo lo que han dicho los profetas!
26 Didn’t the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?”
¿No era necesario que el Cristo sufriese así para entrar en su gloria?”
27 Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
Y comenzando por Moisés, y por todos los profetas, les hizo hermenéutica de lo que en todas las Escrituras había acerca de Él.
28 They came near to the village where they were going, and he acted like he would go further.
Se aproximaron a la aldea a donde iban, y Él hizo ademán de ir más lejos.
29 They urged him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over.” He went in to stay with them.
Pero ellos le hicieron fuerza, diciendo: “Quédate con nosotros, porque es tarde, y ya ha declinado el día”. Y entró para quedarse con ellos.
30 When he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave it to them.
Y estando con ellos a la mesa, tomó el pan, lo bendijo, lo partió y les dio.
31 Their eyes were opened and they recognized him; then he vanished out of their sight.
Entonces los ojos de ellos fueron abiertos y lo reconocieron; mas Él desapareció de su vista.
32 They said to one another, “Weren’t our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?”
Y se dijeron uno a otro: “¿No es verdad que nuestro corazón estaba ardiendo dentro de nosotros, mientras nos hablaba en el camino, mientras nos abría las Escrituras?”.
33 They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,
Y levantándose en aquella misma hora, se volvieron a Jerusalén y encontraron reunidos a los Once y a los demás,
34 saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”
los cuales dijeron: “Realmente resucitó el Señor y se ha aparecido a Simón”.
35 They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.
Y ellos contaron lo que les había pasado en el camino, y cómo se hizo conocer de ellos en la fracción del pan.
36 As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace be to you.”
Aún estaban hablando de esto cuando Él mismo se puso en medio de ellos diciendo: “Paz a vosotros”.
37 But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
Mas ellos, turbados y atemorizados, creían ver un espíritu.
38 He said to them, “Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?
Él entonces les dijo: “¿Por qué estáis turbados? y ¿por qué se levantan dudas en vuestros corazones?
39 See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn’t have flesh and bones, as you see that I have.”
Mirad mis manos y mis pies: soy Yo mismo. Palpadme y ved que un espíritu no tiene carne ni huesos, como veis que Yo tengo”.
40 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.
Y diciendo esto, les mostró sus manos y sus pies.
41 While they still didn’t believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”
Como aún desconfiaran, de pura alegría, y se estuvieran asombrados, les dijo: “¿Tenéis por ahí algo de comer?”
42 They gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.
Le dieron un trozo de pez asado.
43 He took them, and ate in front of them.
Lo tomó y se lo comió a la vista de ellos.
44 He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms concerning me must be fulfilled.”
Después les dijo: “Esto es aquello que Yo os decía, cuando estaba todavía con vosotros, que es necesario que todo lo que está escrito acerca de Mí en la Ley de Moisés, en los Profetas y en los Salmos se cumpla”.
45 Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.
Entonces les abrió la inteligencia para que comprendiesen las Escrituras.
46 He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,
Y les dijo: “Así estaba escrito que el Cristo sufriese y resucitase de entre los muertos al tercer día,
47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
y que se predicase, en su nombre el arrepentimiento y el perdón de los pecados a todas las naciones, comenzando por Jerusalén.
48 You are witnesses of these things.
Vosotros sois testigos de estas cosas.
49 Behold, I send out the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.”
Y he aquí que Yo envío sobre vosotros la Promesa de mi Padre. Mas vosotros estaos quedos en la ciudad hasta que desde lo alto seáis investidos de fuerza.
50 He led them out as far as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands and blessed them.
Y los sacó fuera hasta frente a Betania y, alzando sus manos, los bendijo.
51 While he blessed them, he withdrew from them and was carried up into heaven.
Mientras los bendecía, se separó de ellos y fue elevado hacia el cielo.
52 They worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,
Ellos lo adoraron y se volvieron a Jerusalén con gran gozo.
53 and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
Y estaban constantemente en el Templo, alabando y bendiciendo a Dios.
