John 4
1 Therefore when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John
యీశుః స్వయం నామజ్జయత్ కేవలం తస్య శిష్యా అమజ్జయత్ కిన్తు యోహనోఽధికశిష్యాన్ స కరోతి మజ్జయతి చ,
2 (although Jesus himself didn’t baptize, but his disciples),
ఫిరూశిన ఇమాం వార్త్తామశృణ్వన్ ఇతి ప్రభురవగత్య
3 he left Judea and departed into Galilee.
యిహూదీయదేశం విహాయ పున ర్గాలీలమ్ ఆగత్|
4 He needed to pass through Samaria.
తతః శోమిరోణప్రదేశస్య మద్యేన తేన గన్తవ్యే సతి
5 So he came to a city of Samaria called Sychar, near the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
యాకూబ్ నిజపుత్రాయ యూషఫే యాం భూమిమ్ అదదాత్ తత్సమీపస్థాయి శోమిరోణప్రదేశస్య సుఖార్ నామ్నా విఖ్యాతస్య నగరస్య సన్నిధావుపాస్థాత్|
6 Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being tired from his journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour.
తత్ర యాకూబః ప్రహిరాసీత్; తదా ద్వితీయయామవేలాయాం జాతాయాం స మార్గే శ్రమాపన్నస్తస్య ప్రహేః పార్శ్వే ఉపావిశత్|
7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.”
ఏతర్హి కాచిత్ శోమిరోణీయా యోషిత్ తోయోత్తోలనార్థమ్ తత్రాగమత్
8 For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
తదా శిష్యాః ఖాద్యద్రవ్యాణి క్రేతుం నగరమ్ అగచ్ఛన్|
9 The Samaritan woman therefore said to him, “How is it that you, being a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)
యీశుః శోమిరోణీయాం తాం యోషితమ్ వ్యాహార్షీత్ మహ్యం కిఞ్చిత్ పానీయం పాతుం దేహి| కిన్తు శోమిరోణీయైః సాకం యిహూదీయలోకా న వ్యవాహరన్ తస్మాద్ధేతోః సాకథయత్ శోమిరోణీయా యోషితదహం త్వం యిహూదీయోసి కథం మత్తః పానీయం పాతుమ్ ఇచ్ఛసి?
10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”
తతో యీశురవదద్ ఈశ్వరస్య యద్దానం తత్కీదృక్ పానీయం పాతుం మహ్యం దేహి య ఇత్థం త్వాం యాచతే స వా క ఇతి చేదజ్ఞాస్యథాస్తర్హి తమయాచిష్యథాః స చ తుభ్యమమృతం తోయమదాస్యత్|
11 The woman said to him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. So where do you get that living water?
తదా సా సీమన్తినీ భాషితవతి, హే మహేచ్ఛ ప్రహిర్గమ్భీరో భవతో నీరోత్తోలనపాత్రం నాస్తీ చ తస్మాత్ తదమృతం కీలాలం కుతః ప్రాప్స్యసి?
12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his children and his livestock?”
యోస్మభ్యమ్ ఇమమన్ధూం దదౌ, యస్య చ పరిజనా గోమేషాదయశ్చ సర్వ్వేఽస్య ప్రహేః పానీయం పపురేతాదృశో యోస్మాకం పూర్వ్వపురుషో యాకూబ్ తస్మాదపి భవాన్ మహాన్ కిం?
13 Jesus answered her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again,
తతో యీశురకథయద్ ఇదం పానీయం సః పివతి స పునస్తృషార్త్తో భవిష్యతి,
15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I don’t get thirsty, neither come all the way here to draw.”
తదా సా వనితాకథయత్ హే మహేచ్ఛ తర్హి మమ పునః పీపాసా యథా న జాయతే తోయోత్తోలనాయ యథాత్రాగమనం న భవతి చ తదర్థం మహ్యం తత్తోయం దేహీ|
16 Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.”
తతో యీశూరవదద్యాహి తవ పతిమాహూయ స్థానేఽత్రాగచ్ఛ|
17 The woman answered, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You said well, ‘I have no husband,’
సా వామావదత్ మమ పతిర్నాస్తి| యీశురవదత్ మమ పతిర్నాస్తీతి వాక్యం భద్రమవోచః|
18 for you have had five husbands; and he whom you now have is not your husband. This you have said truly.”
యతస్తవ పఞ్చ పతయోభవన్ అధునా తు త్వయా సార్ద్ధం యస్తిష్ఠతి స తవ భర్త్తా న వాక్యమిదం సత్యమవాదిః|
19 The woman said to him, “Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet.
తదా సా మహిలా గదితవతి హే మహేచ్ఛ భవాన్ ఏకో భవిష్యద్వాదీతి బుద్ధం మయా|
20 Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship.”
అస్మాకం పితృలోకా ఏతస్మిన్ శిలోచ్చయేఽభజన్త, కిన్తు భవద్భిరుచ్యతే యిరూశాలమ్ నగరే భజనయోగ్యం స్థానమాస్తే|
21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.
యీశురవోచత్ హే యోషిత్ మమ వాక్యే విశ్వసిహి యదా యూయం కేవలశైలేఽస్మిన్ వా యిరూశాలమ్ నగరే పితుర్భజనం న కరిష్యధ్వే కాల ఏతాదృశ ఆయాతి|
22 You worship that which you don’t know. We worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Jews.
యూయం యం భజధ్వే తం న జానీథ, కిన్తు వయం యం భజామహే తం జానీమహే, యతో యిహూదీయలోకానాం మధ్యాత్ పరిత్రాణం జాయతే|
23 But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such to be his worshipers.
కిన్తు యదా సత్యభక్తా ఆత్మనా సత్యరూపేణ చ పితుర్భజనం కరిష్యన్తే సమయ ఏతాదృశ ఆయాతి, వరమ్ ఇదానీమపి విద్యతే; యత ఏతాదృశో భత్కాన్ పితా చేష్టతే|
24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
ఈశ్వర ఆత్మా; తతస్తస్య యే భక్తాస్తైః స ఆత్మనా సత్యరూపేణ చ భజనీయః|
25 The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming, he who is called Christ. When he has come, he will declare to us all things.”
తదా సా మహిలావాదీత్ ఖ్రీష్టనామ్నా విఖ్యాతోఽభిషిక్తః పురుష ఆగమిష్యతీతి జానామి స చ సర్వ్వాః కథా అస్మాన్ జ్ఞాపయిష్యతి|
26 Jesus said to her, “I am he, the one who speaks to you.”
తతో యీశురవదత్ త్వయా సార్ద్ధం కథనం కరోమి యోఽహమ్ అహమేవ స పురుషః|
27 Just then, his disciples came. They marveled that he was speaking with a woman; yet no one said, “What are you looking for?” or, “Why do you speak with her?”
ఏతస్మిన్ సమయే శిష్యా ఆగత్య తథా స్త్రియా సార్ద్ధం తస్య కథోపకథనే మహాశ్చర్య్యమ్ అమన్యన్త తథాపి భవాన్ కిమిచ్ఛతి? యద్వా కిమర్థమ్ ఏతయా సార్ద్ధం కథాం కథయతి? ఇతి కోపి నాపృచ్ఛత్|
28 So the woman left her water pot, went away into the city, and said to the people,
తతః పరం సా నారీ కలశం స్థాపయిత్వా నగరమధ్యం గత్వా లోకేభ్యోకథాయద్
29 “Come, see a man who told me everything that I have done. Can this be the Christ?”
అహం యద్యత్ కర్మ్మాకరవం తత్సర్వ్వం మహ్యమకథయద్ ఏతాదృశం మానవమేకమ్ ఆగత్య పశ్యత రు కిమ్ అభిషిక్తో న భవతి?
30 They went out of the city, and were coming to him.
తతస్తే నగరాద్ బహిరాగత్య తాతస్య సమీపమ్ ఆయన్|
31 In the meanwhile, the disciples urged him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.”
ఏతర్హి శిష్యాః సాధయిత్వా తం వ్యాహార్షుః హే గురో భవాన్ కిఞ్చిద్ భూక్తాం|
32 But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you don’t know about.”
తతః సోవదద్ యుష్మాభిర్యన్న జ్ఞాయతే తాదృశం భక్ష్యం మమాస్తే|
33 The disciples therefore said to one another, “Has anyone brought him something to eat?”
తదా శిష్యాః పరస్పరం ప్రష్టుమ్ ఆరమ్భన్త, కిమస్మై కోపి కిమపి భక్ష్యమానీయ దత్తవాన్?
34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.
యీశురవోచత్ మత్ప్రేరకస్యాభిమతానురూపకరణం తస్యైవ కర్మ్మసిద్ధికారణఞ్చ మమ భక్ష్యం|
35 Don’t you say, ‘There are yet four months until the harvest’? Behold, I tell you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, that they are white for harvest already.
మాసచతుష్టయే జాతే శస్యకర్త్తనసమయో భవిష్యతీతి వాక్యం యుష్మాభిః కిం నోద్యతే? కిన్త్వహం వదామి, శిర ఉత్తోల్య క్షేత్రాణి ప్రతి నిరీక్ష్య పశ్యత, ఇదానీం కర్త్తనయోగ్యాని శుక్లవర్ణాన్యభవన్|
36 He who reaps receives wages and gathers fruit to eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. (aiōnios g166)
యశ్ఛినత్తి స వేతనం లభతే అనన్తాయుఃస్వరూపం శస్యం స గృహ్లాతి చ, తేనైవ వప్తా ఛేత్తా చ యుగపద్ ఆనన్దతః| (aiōnios g166)
37 For in this the saying is true, ‘One sows, and another reaps.’
ఇత్థం సతి వపత్యేకశ్ఛినత్యన్య ఇతి వచనం సిద్ధ్యతి|
38 I sent you to reap that for which you haven’t labored. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.”
యత్ర యూయం న పర్య్యశ్రామ్యత తాదృశం శస్యం ఛేత్తుం యుష్మాన్ ప్రైరయమ్ అన్యే జనాఃపర్య్యశ్రామ్యన్ యూయం తేషాం శ్రగస్య ఫలమ్ అలభధ్వమ్|
39 From that city many of the Samaritans believed in him because of the word of the woman, who testified, “He told me everything that I have done.”
యస్మిన్ కాలే యద్యత్ కర్మ్మాకార్షం తత్సర్వ్వం స మహ్యమ్ అకథయత్ తస్యా వనితాయా ఇదం సాక్ష్యవాక్యం శ్రుత్వా తన్నగరనివాసినో బహవః శోమిరోణీయలోకా వ్యశ్వసన్|
40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they begged him to stay with them. He stayed there two days.
తథా చ తస్యాన్తికే సముపస్థాయ స్వేషాం సన్నిధౌ కతిచిద్ దినాని స్థాతుం తస్మిన్ వినయమ్ అకుర్వ్వాన తస్మాత్ స దినద్వయం తత్స్థానే న్యవష్టత్
41 Many more believed because of his word.
తతస్తస్యోపదేశేన బహవోఽపరే విశ్వస్య
42 They said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of your speaking; for we have heard for ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”
తాం యోషామవదన్ కేవలం తవ వాక్యేన ప్రతీమ ఇతి న, కిన్తు స జగతోఽభిషిక్తస్త్రాతేతి తస్య కథాం శ్రుత్వా వయం స్వయమేవాజ్ఞాసమహి|
43 After the two days he went out from there and went into Galilee.
స్వదేశే భవిష్యద్వక్తుః సత్కారో నాస్తీతి యద్యపి యీశుః ప్రమాణం దత్వాకథయత్
44 For Jesus himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.
తథాపి దివసద్వయాత్ పరం స తస్మాత్ స్థానాద్ గాలీలం గతవాన్|
45 So when he came into Galilee, the Galileans received him, having seen all the things that he did in Jerusalem at the feast, for they also went to the feast.
అనన్తరం యే గాలీలీ లియలోకా ఉత్సవే గతా ఉత్సవసమయే యిరూశలమ్ నగరే తస్య సర్వ్వాః క్రియా అపశ్యన్ తే గాలీలమ్ ఆగతం తమ్ ఆగృహ్లన్|
46 Jesus came therefore again to Cana of Galilee, where he made the water into wine. There was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum.
తతః పరమ్ యీశు ర్యస్మిన్ కాన్నానగరే జలం ద్రాక్షారసమ్ ఆకరోత్ తత్ స్థానం పునరగాత్| తస్మిన్నేవ సమయే కస్యచిద్ రాజసభాస్తారస్య పుత్రః కఫర్నాహూమపురీ రోగగ్రస్త ఆసీత్|
47 When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to him and begged him that he would come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.
స యేహూదీయదేశాద్ యీశో ర్గాలీలాగమనవార్త్తాం నిశమ్య తస్య సమీపం గత్వా ప్రార్థ్య వ్యాహృతవాన్ మమ పుత్రస్య ప్రాయేణ కాల ఆసన్నః భవాన్ ఆగత్య తం స్వస్థం కరోతు|
48 Jesus therefore said to him, “Unless you see signs and wonders, you will in no way believe.”
తదా యీశురకథయద్ ఆశ్చర్య్యం కర్మ్మ చిత్రం చిహ్నం చ న దృష్టా యూయం న ప్రత్యేష్యథ|
49 The nobleman said to him, “Sir, come down before my child dies.”
తతః స సభాసదవదత్ హే మహేచ్ఛ మమ పుత్రే న మృతే భవానాగచ్ఛతు|
50 Jesus said to him, “Go your way. Your son lives.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way.
యీశుస్తమవదద్ గచ్ఛ తవ పుత్రోఽజీవీత్ తదా యీశునోక్తవాక్యే స విశ్వస్య గతవాన్|
51 As he was going down, his servants met him and reported, saying “Your child lives!”
గమనకాలే మార్గమధ్యే దాసాస్తం సాక్షాత్ప్రాప్యావదన్ భవతః పుత్రోఽజీవీత్|
52 So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. They said therefore to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour, the fever left him.”
తతః కం కాలమారభ్య రోగప్రతీకారారమ్భో జాతా ఇతి పృష్టే తైరుక్తం హ్యః సార్ద్ధదణ్డద్వయాధికద్వితీయయామే తస్య జ్వరత్యాగోఽభవత్|
53 So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.” He believed, as did his whole house.
తదా యీశుస్తస్మిన్ క్షణే ప్రోక్తవాన్ తవ పుత్రోఽజీవీత్ పితా తద్బుద్ధ్వా సపరివారో వ్యశ్వసీత్|
54 This is again the second sign that Jesus did, having come out of Judea into Galilee.
యిహూదీయదేశాద్ ఆగత్య గాలీలి యీశురేతద్ ద్వితీయమ్ ఆశ్చర్య్యకర్మ్మాకరోత్|
