John 13

1 Now before the feast of the Passover, Jesus, knowing that his time had come that he would depart from this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

۱ و قبل از عید فصح، چون عیسی دانست که ساعت او رسیده است تا از این جهان به‌جانب پدر برود، خاصان خود را که در این جهان محبت می‌نمود، ایشان را تا به آخر محبت نمود.

2 During supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him,

۲ و چون شام می‌خوردند و ابلیس پیش ازآن در دل یهودا پسر شمعون اسخریوطی نهاده بود که او را تسلیم کند،

3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came from God and was going to God,

۳ عیسی با اینکه می‌دانست که پدر همه‌چیز را به‌دست او داده است و از نزد خدا آمده و به‌جانب خدا می‌رود،

4 arose from supper, and laid aside his outer garments. He took a towel and wrapped a towel around his waist.

۴ از شام برخاست و جامه خود را بیرون کرد ودستمالی گرفته، به کمر بست.

5 Then he poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

۵ پس آب در لگن ریخته، شروع کرد به شستن پایهای شاگردان وخشکانیدن آنها با دستمالی که بر کمر داشت.

6 Then he came to Simon Peter. He said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?”

۶ پس چون به شمعون پطرس رسید، او به وی گفت: «ای آقا تو پایهای مرا می‌شویی؟»

7 Jesus answered him, “You don’t know what I am doing now, but you will understand later.”

۷ عیسی در جواب وی گفت: «آنچه من می‌کنم الان تونمی دانی، لکن بعد خواهی فهمید.»

8 Peter said to him, “You will never wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I don’t wash you, you have no part with me.” (aiōn g165)

۸ پطرس به اوگفت: «پایهای مرا هرگز نخواهی شست.» عیسی او را جواب داد: «اگر تو را نشویم تو را با من نصیبی نیست.» (aiōn g165)

9 Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”

۹ شمعون پطرس بدو گفت: «ای آقا نه پایهای مرا و بس، بلکه دستها و سر مرا نیز.»

10 Jesus said to him, “Someone who has bathed only needs to have his feet washed, but is completely clean. You are clean, but not all of you.”

۱۰ عیسی بدو گفت: «کسی‌که غسل یافت محتاج نیست مگر به شستن پایها، بلکه تمام او پاک است. و شما پاک هستید لکن نه همه.»

11 For he knew him who would betray him; therefore he said, “You are not all clean.”

۱۱ زیرا که تسلیم‌کننده خود را می‌دانست و از این جهت گفت: «همگی شما پاک نیستید.»

12 So when he had washed their feet, put his outer garment back on, and sat down again, he said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?

۱۲ و چون پایهای ایشان را شست، رخت خودرا گرفته، باز بنشست و بدیشان گفت: «آیافهمیدید آنچه به شما کردم؟

13 You call me, ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord.’ You say so correctly, for so I am.

۱۳ شما مرا استاد وآقا می‌خوانید و خوب می‌گویید زیرا که چنین هستم.

14 If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.

۱۴ پس اگر من که آقا و معلم هستم، پایهای شما را شستم، بر شما نیز واجب است که پایهای یکدیگر را بشویید.

15 For I have given you an example, that you should also do as I have done to you.

۱۵ زیرا به شما نمونه‌ای دادم تا چنانکه من با شما کردم، شما نیز بکنید.

16 Most certainly I tell you, a servant is not greater than his lord, neither is one who is sent greater than he who sent him.

۱۶ آمین آمین به شما می‌گویم غلام بزرگتر از آقای خودنیست و نه رسول از فرستنده خود.

17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

۱۷ هرگاه این را دانستید، خوشابحال شما اگر آن را به عمل آرید.

18 I don’t speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.’

۱۸ درباره جمیع شما نمی گویم؛ من آنانی راکه برگزیده‌ام می‌شناسم، لیکن تا کتاب تمام شود”آنکه با من نان می‌خورد، پاشنه خود را بر من بلندکرده است.”

19 From now on, I tell you before it happens, that when it happens, you may believe that I am he.

۱۹ الان قبل از وقوع به شما می‌گویم تا زمانی که واقع شود باور کنید که من هستم.

20 Most certainly I tell you, he who receives whomever I send, receives me; and he who receives me, receives him who sent me.”

۲۰ آمین آمین به شما می‌گویم هر‌که قبول کندکسی را که می‌فرستم، مرا قبول کرده؛ و آنکه مرا قبول کند، فرستنده مرا قبول کرده باشد.»

21 When Jesus had said this, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, “Most certainly I tell you that one of you will betray me.”

۲۱ چون عیسی این را گفت، در روح مضطرب گشت و شهادت داده، گفت: «آمین آمین به شمامی گویم که یکی از شما مرا تسلیم خواهد کرد.»

22 The disciples looked at one another, perplexed about whom he spoke.

۲۲ پس شاگردان به یکدیگر نگاه می‌کردند وحیران می‌بودند که این را درباره که می‌گوید.

23 One of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, was at the table, leaning against Jesus’ chest.

۲۳ ویکی از شاگردان او بود که به سینه عیسی تکیه می‌زد و عیسی او را محبت می‌نمود؛

24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, and said to him, “Tell us who it is of whom he speaks.”

۲۴ شمعون پطرس بدو اشاره کرد که بپرسد درباره که این راگفت.

25 He, leaning back, as he was, on Jesus’ chest, asked him, “Lord, who is it?”

۲۵ پس او در آغوش عیسی افتاده، بدوگفت: «خداوندا کدام است؟»

26 Jesus therefore answered, “It is he to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it.” So when he had dipped the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.

۲۶ عیسی جواب داد: «آن است که من لقمه را فرو برده، بدومی دهم.» پس لقمه را فرو برده، به یهودای اسخریوطی پسر شمعون داد.

27 After the piece of bread, then Satan entered into him. Then Jesus said to him, “What you do, do quickly.”

۲۷ بعد از لقمه، شیطان در او داخل گشت. آنگاه عیسی وی راگفت، «آنچه می‌کنی، به زودی بکن.»

28 Now nobody at the table knew why he said this to him.

۲۸ اما این سخن را احدی از مجلسیان نفهمید که برای چه بدو گفت.

29 For some thought, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus said to him, “Buy what things we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor.

۲۹ زیرا که بعضی گمان بردند که چون خریطه نزد یهودا بود، عیسی وی را فرمود تامایحتاج عید را بخرد یا آنکه چیزی به فقرا بدهد.

30 Therefore having received that morsel, he went out immediately. It was night.

۳۰ پس او لقمه را گرفته، در ساعت بیرون رفت و شب بود.

31 When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him.

۳۱ چون بیرون رفت عیسی گفت: «الان پسر انسان جلال یافت و خدا در او جلال یافت.

32 If God has been glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him immediately.

۳۲ و اگر خدا در او جلال یافت، هرآینه خدا او را در خود جلال خواهد داد و به زودی اورا جلال خواهد داد.

33 Little children, I will be with you a little while longer. You will seek me, and as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going, you can’t come,’ so now I tell you.

۳۳ ‌ای فرزندان، اندک زمانی دیگر با شما هستم و مرا طلب خواهید کرد؛ وهمچنان‌که به یهود گفتم جایی که می‌روم شمانمی توانید آمد، الان نیز به شما می‌گویم.

34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another.

۳۴ به شما حکمی تازه می‌دهم که یکدیگر را محبت نمایید، چنانکه من شما را محبت نمودم تا شمانیز یکدیگر را محبت نمایید.

35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

۳۵ به همین همه خواهند فهمید که شاگرد من هستید اگر محبت یکدیگر را داشته باشید.»

36 Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus answered, “Where I am going, you can’t follow now, but you will follow afterwards.”

۳۶ شمعون پطرس به وی گفت: «ای آقا کجا می‌روی؟» عیسی جواب داد: «جایی که می‌روم، الان نمی توانی از عقب من بیایی و لکن در آخر از عقب من خواهی آمد.»

37 Peter said to him, “Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”

۳۷ پطرس بدو گفت: «ای آقا برای چه الان نتوانم از عقب تو بیایم؟ جان خود را در راه تو خواهم نهاد.»

38 Jesus answered him, “Will you lay down your life for me? Most certainly I tell you, the rooster won’t crow until you have denied me three times.

۳۸ عیسی به او جواب داد: «آیا جان خود رادر راه من می‌نهی؟ آمین آمین به تو می‌گویم تا سه مرتبه مرا انکار نکرده باشی، خروس بانگ نخواهد زد.
