John 12
1 Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, who had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.
Então, seis dias antes da Páscoa, Jesus veio a Betânia, onde estava Lázaro, que havia morrido, a quem ele ressuscitou dos mortos.
2 So they made him a supper there. Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with him.
Por isso, fizeram-lhe um jantar lá. Marta serviu, mas Lázaro foi um dos que se sentaram à mesa com ele.
3 Therefore Mary took a pound of ointment of pure nard, very precious, and anointed Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment.
Então Maria pegou um quilo de pomada de nardo puro, muito precioso, e ungiu os pés de Jesus e limpou seus pés com seus cabelos. A casa foi enchida com o perfume da pomada.
4 Then Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, one of his disciples, who would betray him, said,
Então Judas Iscariotes, filho de Simão, um de seus discípulos, que o trairia, disse:
5 “Why wasn’t this ointment sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?”
“Por que este ungüento não foi vendido por trezentos denários e dado aos pobres?
6 Now he said this, not because he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and having the money box, used to steal what was put into it.
Agora ele disse isto, não porque cuidava dos pobres, mas porque era um ladrão, e tendo a caixa de dinheiro, costumava roubar o que era colocado nela.
7 But Jesus said, “Leave her alone. She has kept this for the day of my burial.
Mas Jesus disse: “Deixe-a em paz”. Ela guardou isto para o dia do meu enterro.
8 For you always have the poor with you, but you don’t always have me.”
Pois você sempre tem os pobres com você, mas nem sempre me tem”.
9 A large crowd therefore of the Jews learned that he was there; and they came, not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
Uma grande multidão, portanto, dos judeus soube que ele estava lá; e eles vieram, não somente por causa de Jesus, mas para que pudessem ver Lázaro, a quem ele ressuscitara dentre os mortos.
10 But the chief priests conspired to put Lazarus to death also,
Mas os chefes dos sacerdotes conspiraram para matar Lázaro também,
11 because on account of him many of the Jews went away and believed in Jesus.
porque, por causa dele, muitos dos judeus foram embora e acreditaram em Jesus.
12 On the next day a great multitude had come to the feast. When they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
No dia seguinte, uma grande multidão havia chegado à festa. Quando souberam que Jesus estava chegando a Jerusalém,
13 they took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet him, and cried out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, the King of Israel!”
pegaram os galhos das palmeiras e foram ao seu encontro, e gritaram: “Hosana! Bendito aquele que vem em nome do Senhor, o Rei de Israel”!
14 Jesus, having found a young donkey, sat on it. As it is written,
Jesus, tendo encontrado um burro jovem, sentou-se sobre ele. Como está escrito,
15 “Don’t be afraid, daughter of Zion. Behold, your King comes, sitting on a donkey’s colt.”
“Não tenha medo, filha de Sião. Eis que seu Rei vem, sentado sobre o jumentinho de um burro”.
16 His disciples didn’t understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about him, and that they had done these things to him.
Seus discípulos não entenderam estas coisas no início, mas quando Jesus foi glorificado, então eles se lembraram que estas coisas estavam escritas sobre ele, e que eles tinham feito estas coisas a ele.
17 The multitude therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead was testifying about it.
A multidão que estava com ele quando ele chamou Lázaro para fora do túmulo e o ressuscitou dos mortos estava testemunhando sobre isso.
18 For this cause also the multitude went and met him, because they heard that he had done this sign.
Por esta causa também a multidão foi ao seu encontro, pois souberam que ele tinha feito este sinal.
19 The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, “See how you accomplish nothing. Behold, the world has gone after him.”
Os fariseus, portanto, disseram entre si: “Vejam como vocês não fazem nada”. Eis que o mundo foi atrás dele”.
20 Now there were certain Greeks among those who went up to worship at the feast.
Agora havia certos gregos entre aqueles que subiam para adorar na festa.
21 Therefore, these came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, “Sir, we want to see Jesus.”
Portanto, estes vieram a Filipe, que era de Betsaida da Galiléia, e lhe perguntaram, dizendo: “Senhor, queremos ver Jesus”.
22 Philip came and told Andrew, and in turn, Andrew came with Philip, and they told Jesus.
Filipe veio e disse a André, e por sua vez, André veio com Filipe, e eles disseram a Jesus.
23 Jesus answered them, “The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.
Jesus lhes respondeu: “Chegou a hora de glorificar o Filho do Homem.
24 Most certainly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit.
Certamente vos digo, a menos que um grão de trigo caia na terra e morra, ele permanece por si só. Mas se ele morre, dá muito fruto.
25 He who loves his life will lose it. He who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
Aquele que ama sua vida, perdê-la-á. Aquele que odeia sua vida neste mundo, a manterá para a vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)
26 If anyone serves me, let him follow me. Where I am, there my servant will also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.
Se alguém me serve, deixe-o me seguir. Onde eu estiver, lá estará também o meu servo. Se alguém me serve, o Pai o honrará.
27 “Now my soul is troubled. What shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this time’? But I came to this time for this cause.
“Agora minha alma está perturbada. O que devo dizer? 'Pai, salva-me desta vez?'. Mas eu vim a este tempo por esta causa.
28 Father, glorify your name!” Then a voice came out of the sky, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.”
Pai, glorifica o teu nome”! Então uma voz saiu do céu, dizendo: “Eu o glorifiquei e o glorificarei novamente”.
29 Therefore the multitude who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.”
Por isso, a multidão que ficou de pé e ouviu dizer que havia trovejado. Outros disseram: “Um anjo falou com ele”.
30 Jesus answered, “This voice hasn’t come for my sake, but for your sakes.
Jesus respondeu: “Esta voz não veio por mim, mas para o seu bem”.
31 Now is the judgment of this world. Now the prince of this world will be cast out.
Agora é o julgamento deste mundo. Agora o príncipe deste mundo será expulso.
32 And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”
E eu, se eu for levantado da terra, atrairei todas as pessoas para mim”.
33 But he said this, signifying by what kind of death he should die.
Mas ele disse isto, significando com que tipo de morte ele deve morrer.
34 The multitude answered him, “We have heard out of the law that the Christ remains forever. How do you say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?” (aiōn g165)
A multidão lhe respondeu: “Ouvimos da lei que o Cristo permanece para sempre”. Como se diz: “O Filho do Homem deve ser levantado”? Quem é este Filho do Homem?” (aiōn g165)
35 Jesus therefore said to them, “Yet a little while the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, that darkness doesn’t overtake you. He who walks in the darkness doesn’t know where he is going.
Jesus, portanto, disse-lhes: “Ainda que a luz esteja um pouco com vocês”. Caminhe enquanto você tem a luz, que a escuridão não o ultrapassa. Aquele que caminha na escuridão não sabe para onde está indo.
36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become children of light.” Jesus said these things, and he departed and hid himself from them.
Enquanto vocês têm a luz, acreditem na luz, para que vocês possam se tornar filhos da luz”. Jesus disse estas coisas, e ele se afastou e se escondeu delas.
37 But though he had done so many signs before them, yet they didn’t believe in him,
Mas embora ele tivesse feito tantos sinais diante deles, ainda assim eles não acreditaram nele,
38 that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke: “Lord, who has believed our report? To whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”
para que a palavra do profeta Isaías se cumprisse, que ele falou: “Senhor, quem acreditou em nosso relatório? A quem foi revelado o braço do Senhor”?
39 For this cause they couldn’t believe, for Isaiah said again:
Por esta causa eles não podiam acreditar, pois Isaías disse novamente:
40 “He has blinded their eyes and he hardened their heart, lest they should see with their eyes, and perceive with their heart, and would turn, and I would heal them.”
“Ele cegou-lhes os olhos e endureceu-lhes o coração, para que eles não vejam com os olhos, e percebem com o coração, e se voltaria, e eu os curaria”.
41 Isaiah said these things when he saw his glory, and spoke of him.
Isaías disse estas coisas quando viu sua glória, e falou dele.
42 Nevertheless, even many of the rulers believed in him, but because of the Pharisees they didn’t confess it, so that they wouldn’t be put out of the synagogue,
Entretanto, mesmo muitos dos governantes acreditaram nele, mas por causa dos fariseus não o confessaram, para que não fossem expulsos da sinagoga,
43 for they loved men’s praise more than God’s praise.
pois amavam mais o louvor dos homens do que o louvor de Deus.
44 Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me, believes not in me, but in him who sent me.
Jesus gritou e disse: “Quem crê em mim, crê não em mim, mas naquele que me enviou”.
45 He who sees me sees him who sent me.
Aquele que me vê, vê aquele que me enviou.
46 I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in me may not remain in the darkness.
Eu vim como uma luz para o mundo, para que quem acredita em mim não permaneça na escuridão.
47 If anyone listens to my sayings and doesn’t believe, I don’t judge him. For I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Se alguém ouve minhas palavras e não acredita, eu não o julgo. Pois eu vim não para julgar o mundo, mas para salvar o mundo.
48 He who rejects me, and doesn’t receive my sayings, has one who judges him. The word that I spoke will judge him in the last day.
Aquele que me rejeita, e não recebe meus ditos, tem um que o julga. A palavra que eu falei o julgará no último dia.
49 For I spoke not from myself, but the Father who sent me gave me a commandment, what I should say and what I should speak.
Pois eu não falei de mim mesmo, mas o Pai que me enviou me deu um mandamento, o que eu deveria dizer e o que eu deveria falar.
