Isaiah 5
1 Let me sing for my well beloved a song of my beloved about his vineyard. My beloved had a vineyard on a very fruitful hill.
われわが愛する者のために歌をつくり 我があいするものの葡萄園のことをうたはん わが愛するものは土肥たる山にひとつの葡萄園をもてり
2 He dug it up, gathered out its stones, planted it with the choicest vine, built a tower in the middle of it, and also cut out a wine press in it. He looked for it to yield grapes, but it yielded wild grapes.
彼その園をすきかへし石をのぞきて嘉ぶだうをうゑ そのなかに望樓をたて酒榨をほりて嘉葡萄のむすぶを望みまてり 然るに結びたるものは野葡萄なりき
3 “Now, inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, please judge between me and my vineyard.
さればヱルサレムに住るものとユダの人よ 請なんぢら我とわがぶだうぞのとの間をさばけ
4 What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? Why, when I looked for it to yield grapes, did it yield wild grapes?
わが葡萄園にわれの作たるほか何のなすべき事ありや 我はよきぶだうの結ぶをのぞみまちしに 何なれば野葡萄をむすびしや
5 Now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard. I will take away its hedge, and it will be eaten up. I will break down its wall, and it will be trampled down.
然ばわれわが葡萄園になさんとすることを汝等につげん 我はぶだうぞのの籬芭をとりさりてその食あらさるるにまかせ その垣をこぼちてその踐あらさるるにまかせん
6 I will lay it a wasteland. It won’t be pruned or hoed, but it will grow briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on it.”
我これを荒してふたたび剪ことをせず耕すことをせず棘と荊とをはえいでしめん また雲に命せてそのうヘに雨ふることなからしめん
7 For the vineyard of Yahweh of Armies is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant. He looked for justice, but behold, oppression, for righteousness, but behold, a cry of distress.
それ萬軍のヱホバの葡萄園はイスラエルの家なり その喜びたまふところの植物はユダの人なり これに公平をのぞみたまひしに反りて血をながし これに正義をのぞみ給ひしにかへりて號呼あり
8 Woe to those who join house to house, who lay field to field, until there is no room, and you are made to dwell alone in the middle of the land!
禍ひなるかな彼らは家に家をたてつらね田圃に田圃をましくはへて餘地をあまさず己ひとり國のうちに住んとす
9 In my ears, Yahweh of Armies says: “Surely many houses will be desolate, even great and beautiful, unoccupied.
萬軍のヱホバ我耳につげて宣はく 實におほくの家はあれすたれ大にして美しき家は人のすむことなきにいたらん
10 For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and a homer of seed shall yield an ephah.”
十段のぶだうぞの僅かに一バテをみのり一ホメルの穀種はわづかに一エパを實るべし
11 Woe to those who rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink, who stay late into the night, until wine inflames them!
禍ひなるかなかれらは朝つとにおきて濃酒をおひもとめ 夜のふくるまで止まりてのみ 酒にその身をやかるるなり
12 The harp, lyre, tambourine, and flute, with wine, are at their feasts; but they don’t respect the work of Yahweh, neither have they considered the operation of his hands.
かれらの酒宴には琴あり瑟あり鼓あり笛あり葡萄酒あり されどヱホバの作爲をかへりみずその手のなしたまふところに目をとめず
13 Therefore my people go into captivity for lack of knowledge. Their honorable men are famished, and their multitudes are parched with thirst.
斯るが故にわが民は無知にして虜にせられ その貴顯者はうゑ そのもろもろの民は渇によりて疲れはてん
14 Therefore Sheol has enlarged its desire, and opened its mouth without measure; and their glory, their multitude, their pomp, and he who rejoices among them, descend into it. (Sheol h7585)
また陰府はその欲望をひろくしその度られざる口をはる かれらの榮華かれらの群衆かれらの饒富および喜びたのしめる入みなその中におつべし (Sheol h7585)
15 So man is brought low, mankind is humbled, and the eyes of the arrogant ones are humbled;
賤しき者はかがめられ 貴きものは卑くせられ 目をあげて高ぶる者はひくくせらるべし
16 but Yahweh of Armies is exalted in justice, and God the Holy One is sanctified in righteousness.
されど萬軍のヱホバは公平によりてあがめられ 聖なる神は正義によりて聖とせられ給ふべし
17 Then the lambs will graze as in their pasture, and strangers will eat the ruins of the rich.
而して小羊おのが牧場にあるごとくに草をはみ 豐かなるものの田はあれて旅客にくらはれん
18 Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of falsehood, and wickedness as with cart rope,
禍ひなるかな彼等はいつはりを繩となして惡をひき 索にて車をひくごとく罪をひけり
19 who say, “Let him make haste, let him hasten his work, that we may see it; let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know it!”
かれらは云 その成んとする事をいそぎて速かになせ 我儕これを見ん イスラエルの聖者のさだむることを逼來らせよ われらこれを知んと
20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
禍ひなるかな かれらは惡をよびて善とし善をよびて惡とし暗をもて光とし光をもて暗とし苦をもて甘とし甘をもて苦とする者なり
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
わざはひなる哉 かれらは己をみて智しとし自らかへりみて聰とする者なり
22 Woe to those who are mighty to drink wine, and champions at mixing strong drink;
禍ひなるかな かれらは葡萄酒をのむに丈夫なり 濃酒を和するに勇者なり
23 who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice for the innocent!
かれらは賄賂によりて惡きものを義となし義人よりその義をうばふ
24 Therefore as the tongue of fire devours the stubble, and as the dry grass sinks down in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust, because they have rejected the law of Yahweh of Armies, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
此によりて火舌の刈株をくらふがごとくまた枯草の火焔のなかにおつるがごとくその根はくちはてその花は塵のごとくに飛さらん かれらは萬軍のヱホバの律法をすててイスラエルの聖者のことばを蔑したればなり
25 Therefore Yahweh’s anger burns against his people, and he has stretched out his hand against them and has struck them. The mountains tremble, and their dead bodies are as refuse in the middle of the streets. For all this, his anger is not turned away, but his hand is still stretched out.
この故にヱホバその民にむかひて怒をはなち手をのべてかれらを撃たまヘり 山はふるひうごきかれらの屍は衢のなかにて糞土のごとくなれり 然はあれどヱホバの怒やまずして尚その手を伸したまふ
26 He will lift up a banner to the nations from far away, and he will whistle for them from the end of the earth. Behold, they will come speedily and swiftly.
かくて旗をたててとほき國々をまねき彼等をよびて地の極より來らしめたまはん 視よかれら趨りて速かにきたるべし
27 No one shall be weary nor stumble among them; no one shall slumber nor sleep, neither shall the belt of their waist be untied, nor the strap of their sandals be broken,
その中には疲れたふるるものなく眠りまたは寢るものなし その腰の帯はとけずその履の紐はきれず
28 whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent. Their horses’ hoofs will be like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind.
その矢は鋭その弓はことごとく張りその馬のひづめは石のごとくその車の輪は疾風のごとしと稱へられん
29 Their roaring will be like a lioness. They will roar like young lions. Yes, they shall roar, and seize their prey and carry it off, and there will be no one to deliver.
その嘷ること獅のごとく また小獅のごとく嘷うなりつつ獲物をつかみて掠去れども之をすくふ者なし
30 They will roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea. If one looks to the land, behold, darkness and distress. The light is darkened in its clouds.
その日かれらが嘯響めくこと海のなりどよめくがごとしもし地をのぞまば暗と難とありて光は黒雲のなかにくらくなりたるを見ん
