Galatians 5
1 Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
Estád, pues, firmes en la libertad con que Cristo nos libertó; y no volváis otra vez a sujetaros bajo el yugo de servidumbre.
2 Behold, I, Paul, tell you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will profit you nothing.
He aquí, yo Pablo os digo: Que si os circuncidareis, Cristo no os aprovechará nada.
3 Yes, I testify again to every man who receives circumcision that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
Y otra vez vuelvo a protestar a todo hombre que se circuncidare, que está obligado a hacer toda la ley.
4 You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace.
Cristo se ha hecho para vosotros inútil, los que pretendéis ser justificados por la ley; de la gracia habéis caído.
5 For we through the Spirit, by faith wait for the hope of righteousness.
Mas nosotros, por el Espíritu, aguardamos la esperanza de justicia por la fe.
6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision amounts to anything, but faith working through love.
Porque en Cristo Jesús ni la circuncisión vale algo, ni la incircuncisión; sino la fe que obra por el amor.
7 You were running well! Who interfered with you that you should not obey the truth?
Corríais bien: ¿quién os impidió para no obedecer a la verdad?
8 This persuasion is not from him who calls you.
Esta persuasión no es de aquel que os llama.
9 A little yeast grows through the whole lump.
Un poco de levadura leuda toda la masa.
10 I have confidence toward you in the Lord that you will think no other way. But he who troubles you will bear his judgment, whoever he is.
Yo confío de vosotros en el Señor, que ninguna otra cosa pensaréis; mas el que os inquieta, llevará el juicio, quienquiera que él sea.
11 But I, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? Then the stumbling block of the cross has been removed.
Mas yo, hermanos, si aun predico la circuncisión, ¿por qué, pues, padezco persecución? Luego cesado ha la ofensa de la cruz.
12 I wish that those who disturb you would cut themselves off.
Ojalá fuesen aun cortados los que os alborotan.
13 For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don’t use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.
Porque vosotros, hermanos, habéis sido llamados a libertad; solamente que no pongáis la libertad por ocasión a la carne, sino que os sirváis por amor los unos a los otros.
14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Porque toda la ley en una palabra se cumple, a saber, en esta: Amarás a tu prójimo, como a ti mismo.
15 But if you bite and devour one another, be careful that you don’t consume one another.
Mas si los unos a los otros os mordéis, y os coméis, mirád que no seáis consumidos los unos por los otros.
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Digo, pues: Andád en el Espíritu; y no cumpliréis los deseos de la carne.
17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire.
Porque el deseo de la carne es contrario al deseo del Espíritu, y el deseo del Espíritu es contrario al deseo de la carne; y estas cosas se oponen la una a la otra, de manera que no podáis hacer lo que quisiereis.
18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Mas si sois guiados del Espíritu, no estáis debajo de la ley.
19 Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness,
Manifiestas son empero las obras de la carne, que son estas: Adulterio, fornicación, inmundicia, disolución,
20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies,
Idolatría, hechicerías, enemistades, pleitos, zelos, iras, contiendas, disensiones, herejías,
21 envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom.
Envidias, homicidios, embriagueces, banqueterías, y cosas semejantes a estas: de las cuales os denuncio, como también os he denunciado ya, que los que hacen tales cosas, no heredarán el reino de Dios.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith,
Mas el fruto del Espíritu es: Amor, gozo, paz, longanimidad, benignidad, bondad, fe,
23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Mansedumbre, templanza: contra tales cosas, no hay ley.
24 Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.
Y los que son de Cristo, ya crucificaron la carne con sus afectos y concupiscencias.
25 If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit.
Si vivimos por el Espíritu, andemos también por el Espíritu.
26 Let’s not become conceited, provoking one another, and envying one another.
No seamos codiciosos de vana gloria, irritando los unos a los otros, envidiosos los unos de los otros.
