Galatians 5
1 Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
Cristo nos ha hecho libres para la libertad. Estad, pues, firmes, y no os sujetéis de nuevo al yugo de la servidumbre.
2 Behold, I, Paul, tell you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will profit you nothing.
Mirad, yo Pablo os digo que si os circuncidáis, Cristo de nada os aprovechará.
3 Yes, I testify again to every man who receives circumcision that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
Otra vez testifico a todo hombre que se circuncida, que queda obligado a cumplir toda la Ley.
4 You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace.
Destituidos de Cristo quedáis cuantos queréis justificaros por la Ley; caísteis de la gracia.
5 For we through the Spirit, by faith wait for the hope of righteousness.
Pues nosotros, en virtud de la fe, esperamos por medio del Espíritu la promesa de la justicia.
6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision amounts to anything, but faith working through love.
Por cuanto en Cristo Jesús ni la circuncisión vale algo, ni la incircuncisión, sino la fe, que obra por amor.
7 You were running well! Who interfered with you that you should not obey the truth?
Corríais bien ¿quién os atajó para no obedecer a la verdad?
8 This persuasion is not from him who calls you.
Tal sugestión no viene de Aquel que os llamó.
9 A little yeast grows through the whole lump.
Poca levadura pudre toda la masa.
10 I have confidence toward you in the Lord that you will think no other way. But he who troubles you will bear his judgment, whoever he is.
Yo confío de vosotros en el Señor que no tendréis otro sentir. Mas quien os perturba llevará su castigo, sea quien fuere.
11 But I, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? Then the stumbling block of the cross has been removed.
En cuanto a mí, hermanos, si predico aún la circuncisión, ¿por qué soy todavía perseguido? ¡Entonces se acabó el escándalo de la cruz!
12 I wish that those who disturb you would cut themselves off.
¡Ojalá llegasen hasta amputarse los que os trastornan!
13 For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don’t use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.
Vosotros, hermanos, fuisteis llamados a la libertad, mas no uséis la libertad como pretexto para la carne; antes sed siervos unos de otros por la caridad.
14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Porque toda la Ley se cumple en un solo precepto, en aquello de “Amaras a tu prójimo como a ti mismo”.
15 But if you bite and devour one another, be careful that you don’t consume one another.
Pero si mutuamente (os mordéis y devoráis, mirad que no os aniquiléis unos a otros.
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Digo pues: Andad según el Espíritu, y ya no cumpliréis las concupiscencias de la carne.
17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire.
Porque la carne desea en contra del espíritu, y el espíritu en contra de la carne, siendo cosas opuestas entre sí, a fin de que no hagáis cuanto querríais.
18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Porque si os dejáis guiar por el Espíritu no estáis bajo la Ley.
19 Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness,
Y las obras de la carne son manifiestas, a saber: fornicación, impureza, lascivia,
20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies,
idolatría, hechicería, enemistades, contiendas, celos, ira, litigios, banderías, divisiones,
21 envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom.
envidias, embriagueces, orgías y otras cosas semejantes, respecto de las cuales os prevengo, como os lo he dicho ya, que los que hacen tales cosas no heredarán el reino de Dios.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith,
En cambio, el fruto del Espíritu es amor, gozo, paz, longanimidad, benignidad, bondad, fidelidad,
23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
mansedumbre, templanza. Contra tales cosas no hay ley.
24 Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.
Los que son de Cristo Jesús han crucificado la carne con las pasiones y las concupiscencias.
25 If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit.
Si vivimos por el Espíritu, por el Espíritu también caminemos.
26 Let’s not become conceited, provoking one another, and envying one another.
No seamos codiciosos de vanagloria, provocándonos unos a otros, envidiándonos recíprocamente.
