Ephesians 6
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
Τα τέκνα, υπακούετε εις τους γονείς σας εν Κυρίω· διότι τούτο είναι δίκαιον.
2 “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with a promise:
Τίμα τον πατέρα σου και την μητέρα, ήτις είναι εντολή πρώτη με επαγγελίαν,
3 “that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.”
διά να γείνη εις σε καλόν και να ήσαι μακροχρόνιος επί της γης.
4 You fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Και οι πατέρες, μη παροργίζετε τα τέκνα σας, αλλ' εκτρέφετε αυτά εν παιδεία Κυρίου.
5 Servants, be obedient to those who according to the flesh are your masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ,
Οι δούλοι, υπακούετε εις τους κατά σάρκα κυρίους σας μετά φόβου και τρόμου εν απλότητι της καρδίας σας ως εις τον Χριστόν,
6 not in the way of service only when eyes are on you, as men pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,
μη κατ' οφθαλμοδουλείαν ως ανθρωπάρεσκοι, αλλ' ως δούλοι του Χριστού, εκπληρούντες το θέλημα του Θεού εκ ψυχής,
7 with good will doing service as to the Lord and not to men,
μετ' ευνοίας δουλεύοντες εις τον Κύριον και ουχί εις ανθρώπους,
8 knowing that whatever good thing each one does, he will receive the same good again from the Lord, whether he is bound or free.
εξεύροντες ότι έκαστος ό, τι καλόν πράξη, τούτο θέλει λάβει παρά του Κυρίου, είτε δούλος είτε ελεύθερος.
9 You masters, do the same things to them, and give up threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no partiality with him.
Και οι κύριοι, τα αυτά πράττετε προς αυτούς, αφίνοντες την απειλήν, εξεύροντες ότι και σεις αυτοί έχετε Κύριον εν ουρανοίς, και προσωποληψία δεν υπάρχει παρ' αυτώ.
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
Το λοιπόν, αδελφοί μου, ενδυναμούσθε εν Κυρίω και εν τω κράτει της ισχύος αυτού.
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Ενδύθητε την πανοπλίαν του Θεού, διά να δυνηθήτε να σταθήτε εναντίον εις τας μεθοδείας του διαβόλου·
12 For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. (aiōn g165)
διότι δεν είναι η πάλη ημών εναντίον εις αίμα και σάρκα, αλλ' εναντίον εις τας αρχάς, εναντίον εις τας εξουσίας, εναντίον εις τους κοσμοκράτορας του σκότους του αιώνος τούτου· εναντίον εις τα πνεύματα της πονηρίας εν τοις επουρανίοις. (aiōn g165)
13 Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Διά τούτο αναλάβετε την πανοπλίαν του Θεού, διά να δυνηθήτε να αντισταθήτε εν τη ημέρα τη πονηρά και αφού καταπολεμήσητε τα πάντα, να σταθήτε.
14 Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
Σταθήτε λοιπόν περιεζωσμένοι την οσφύν σας με αλήθειαν και ενδεδυμένοι τον θώρακα της δικαιοσύνης
15 and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace,
και έχοντες υποδεδημένους τους πόδας με την ετοιμασίαν του ευαγγελίου της ειρήνης·
16 above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.
επί πάσι δε αναλάβετε την ασπίδα της πίστεως, διά της οποίας θέλετε δυνηθή να σβέσητε πάντα τα βέλη του πονηρού τα πεπυρωμένα·
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
και λάβετε την περικεφαλαίαν της σωτηρίας και την μάχαιραν του Πνεύματος, ήτις είναι ο λόγος του Θεού,
18 with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints.
προσευχόμενοι εν παντί καιρώ μετά πάσης προσευχής και δεήσεως διά του Πνεύματος, και εις αυτό τούτο αγρυπνούντες με πάσαν προσκαρτέρησιν και δέησιν υπέρ πάντων των αγίων,
19 Pray for me, that utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News,
και υπέρ εμού, διά να δοθή εις εμέ λόγος να ανοίξω το στόμα μου μετά παρρησίας, διά να κάμω γνωστόν το μυστήριον του ευαγγελίου,
20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
υπέρ του οποίου είμαι πρέσβυς, φορών άλυσιν, διά να λαλήσω περί αυτού μετά παρρησίας καθώς πρέπει να λαλήσω.
21 But that you also may know my affairs, how I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will make known to you all things.
Αλλά διά να εξεύρητε και σεις τα κατ' εμέ, τι κάμνω, τα πάντα θέλει σας φανερώσει ο Τυχικός ο αγαπητός αδελφός και πιστός διάκονος εν Κυρίω,
22 I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know our state and that he may comfort your hearts.
τον οποίον έπεμψα προς εσάς δι' αυτό τούτο, διά να μάθητε τα περί ημών και να παρηγορήση τας καρδίας σας.
23 Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Ειρήνη εις τους αδελφούς και αγάπη μετά πίστεως από Θεού Πατρός και Κυρίου Ιησού Χριστού.
24 Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love. Amen.
Η χάρις είη μετά πάντων των αγαπώντων τον Κύριον ημών Ιησούν Χριστόν εν καθαρότητι· αμήν.
