Ephesians 5
1 Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children.
അതോ യൂയം പ്രിയബാലകാ ഇവേശ്വരസ്യാനുകാരിണോ ഭവത,
2 Walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
ഖ്രീഷ്ട ഇവ പ്രേമാചാരം കുരുത ച, യതഃ സോഽസ്മാസു പ്രേമ കൃതവാൻ അസ്മാകം വിനിമയേന ചാത്മനിവേദനം കൃത്വാ ഗ്രാഹ്യസുഗന്ധാർഥകമ് ഉപഹാരം ബലിഞ്ചേശ്വരാച ദത്തവാൻ|
3 But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;
കിന്തു വേശ്യാഗമനം സർവ്വവിധാശൗചക്രിയാ ലോഭശ്ചൈതേഷാമ് ഉച്ചാരണമപി യുഷ്മാകം മധ്യേ ന ഭവതു, ഏതദേവ പവിത്രലോകാനാമ് ഉചിതം|
4 nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not appropriate, but rather giving of thanks.
അപരം കുത്സിതാലാപഃ പ്രലാപഃ ശ്ലേഷോക്തിശ്ച ന ഭവതു യത ഏതാന്യനുചിതാനി കിന്ത്വീശ്വരസ്യ ധന്യവാദോ ഭവതു|
5 Know this for sure, that no sexually immoral person, nor unclean person, nor covetous man (who is an idolater), has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God.
വേശ്യാഗാമ്യശൗചാചാരീ ദേവപൂജക ഇവ ഗണ്യോ ലോഭീ ചൈതേഷാം കോഷി ഖ്രീഷ്ടസ്യ രാജ്യേഽർഥത ഈശ്വരസ്യ രാജ്യേ കമപ്യധികാരം ന പ്രാപ്സ്യതീതി യുഷ്മാഭിഃ സമ്യക് ജ്ഞായതാം|
6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.
അനർഥകവാക്യേന കോഽപി യുഷ്മാൻ ന വഞ്ചയതു യതസ്താദൃഗാചാരഹേതോരനാജ്ഞാഗ്രാഹിഷു ലോകേഷ്വീശ്വരസ്യ കോപോ വർത്തതേ|
7 Therefore don’t be partakers with them.
തസ്മാദ് യൂയം തൈഃ സഹഭാഗിനോ ന ഭവത|
8 For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,
പൂർവ്വം യൂയമ് അന്ധകാരസ്വരൂപാ ആധ്വം കിന്ത്വിദാനീം പ്രഭുനാ ദീപ്തിസ്വരൂപാ ഭവഥ തസ്മാദ് ദീപ്തേഃ സന്താനാ ഇവ സമാചരത|
9 for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth,
ദീപ്തേ ര്യത് ഫലം തത് സർവ്വവിധഹിതൈഷിതായാം ധർമ്മേ സത്യാലാപേ ച പ്രകാശതേ|
10 proving what is well pleasing to the Lord.
പ്രഭവേ യദ് രോചതേ തത് പരീക്ഷധ്വം|
11 Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them.
യൂയം തിമിരസ്യ വിഫലകർമ്മണാമ് അംശിനോ ന ഭൂത്വാ തേഷാം ദോഷിത്വം പ്രകാശയത|
12 For it is a shame even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.
യതസ്തേ ലോകാ രഹമി യദ് യദ് ആചരന്തി തദുച്ചാരണമ് അപി ലജ്ജാജനകം|
13 But all things, when they are reproved, are revealed by the light, for everything that reveals is light.
യതോ ദീപ്ത്യാ യദ് യത് പ്രകാശ്യതേ തത് തയാ ചകാസ്യതേ യച്ച ചകാസ്തി തദ് ദീപ്തിസ്വരൂപം ഭവതി|
14 Therefore he says, “Awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
ഏതത്കാരണാദ് ഉക്തമ് ആസ്തേ, "ഹേ നിദ്രിത പ്രബുധ്യസ്വ മൃതേഭ്യശ്ചോത്ഥിതിം കുരു| തത്കൃതേ സൂര്യ്യവത് ഖ്രീഷ്ടഃ സ്വയം ത്വാം ദ്യോതയിഷ്യതി| "
15 Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise,
അതഃ സാവധാനാ ഭവത, അജ്ഞാനാ ഇവ മാചരത കിന്തു ജ്ഞാനിന ഇവ സതർകമ് ആചരത|
16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
സമയം ബഹുമൂല്യം ഗണയധ്വം യതഃ കാലാ അഭദ്രാഃ|
17 Therefore, don’t be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
തസ്മാദ് യൂയമ് അജ്ഞാനാ ന ഭവത കിന്തു പ്രഭോരഭിമതം കിം തദവഗതാ ഭവത|
18 Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,
സർവ്വനാശജനകേന സുരാപാനേന മത്താ മാ ഭവത കിന്ത്വാത്മനാ പൂര്യ്യധ്വം|
19 speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
അപരം ഗീതൈ ർഗാനൈഃ പാരമാർഥികകീർത്തനൈശ്ച പരസ്പരമ് ആലപന്തോ മനസാ സാർദ്ധം പ്രഭുമ് ഉദ്ദിശ്യ ഗായത വാദയത ച|
20 giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;
സർവ്വദാ സർവ്വവിഷയേഽസ്മത്പ്രഭോ യീശോഃ ഖ്രീഷ്ടസ്യ നാമ്നാ താതമ് ഈശ്വരം ധന്യം വദത|
21 subjecting yourselves to one another in the fear of Christ.
യൂയമ് ഈശ്വരാദ് ഭീതാഃ സന്ത അന്യേഽപരേഷാം വശീഭൂതാ ഭവത|
22 Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
ഹേ യോഷിതഃ, യൂയം യഥാ പ്രഭോസ്തഥാ സ്വസ്വസ്വാമിനോ വശങ്ഗതാ ഭവത|
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body.
യതഃ ഖ്രീഷ്ടോ യദ്വത് സമിതേ ർമൂർദ്ധാ ശരീരസ്യ ത്രാതാ ച ഭവതി തദ്വത് സ്വാമീ യോഷിതോ മൂർദ്ധാ|
24 But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.
അതഃ സമിതി ര്യദ്വത് ഖ്രീഷ്ടസ്യ വശീഭൂതാ തദ്വദ് യോഷിദ്ഭിരപി സ്വസ്വസ്വാമിനോ വശതാ സ്വീകർത്തവ്യാ|
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for her,
അപരഞ്ച ഹേ പുരുഷാഃ, യൂയം ഖ്രീഷ്ട ഇവ സ്വസ്വയോഷിത്സു പ്രീയധ്വം|
26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,
സ ഖ്രീഷ്ടോഽപി സമിതൗ പ്രീതവാൻ തസ്യാഃ കൃതേ ച സ്വപ്രാണാൻ ത്യക്തവാൻ യതഃ സ വാക്യേ ജലമജ്ജനേന താം പരിഷ്കൃത്യ പാവയിതുമ്
27 that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without defect.
അപരം തിലകവല്യാദിവിഹീനാം പവിത്രാം നിഷ്കലങ്കാഞ്ച താം സമിതിം തേജസ്വിനീം കൃത്വാ സ്വഹസ്തേ സമർപയിതുഞ്ചാഭിലഷിതവാൻ|
28 Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.
തസ്മാത് സ്വതനുവത് സ്വയോഷിതി പ്രേമകരണം പുരുഷസ്യോചിതം, യേന സ്വയോഷിതി പ്രേമ ക്രിയതേ തേനാത്മപ്രേമ ക്രിയതേ|
29 For no man ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly,
കോഽപി കദാപി ന സ്വകീയാം തനുമ് ഋതീയിതവാൻ കിന്തു സർവ്വേ താം വിഭ്രതി പുഷ്ണന്തി ച| ഖ്രീഷ്ടോഽപി സമിതിം പ്രതി തദേവ കരോതി,
30 because we are members of his body, of his flesh and bones.
യതോ വയം തസ്യ ശരീരസ്യാങ്ഗാനി മാംസാസ്ഥീനി ച ഭവാമഃ|
31 “For this cause a man will leave his father and mother and will be joined to his wife. Then the two will become one flesh.”
ഏതദർഥം മാനവഃ സ്വമാതാപിതരോ പരിത്യജ്യ സ്വഭാര്യ്യായാമ് ആസംക്ഷ്യതി തൗ ദ്വൗ ജനാവേകാങ്ഗൗ ഭവിഷ്യതഃ|
32 This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and the assembly.
ഏതന്നിഗൂഢവാക്യം ഗുരുതരം മയാ ച ഖ്രീഷ്ടസമിതീ അധി തദ് ഉച്യതേ|
33 Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
അതഏവ യുഷ്മാകമ് ഏകൈകോ ജന ആത്മവത് സ്വയോഷിതി പ്രീയതാം ഭാര്യ്യാപി സ്വാമിനം സമാദർത്തും യതതാം|
