< Acts 26 >

1 Agrippa said to Paul, “You may speak for yourself.” Then Paul stretched out his hand, and made his defense.
Ndipo Agripa anawuza Paulo kuti, “Takulola kuti unene mawu ako.” Paulo anatambasula dzanja lake nayamba kudziteteza kuti,
2 “I think myself happy, King Agrippa, that I am to make my defense before you today concerning all the things that I am accused by the Jews,
“Mfumu Agripa ine ndikudziyesa wa mwayi kuyima pamaso panu lero lino ndi kudziteteza, kutsutsa zonse zimene Ayuda andinenera,
3 especially because you are expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews. Therefore I beg you to hear me patiently.
ndipo makamaka chifukwa inu mukudziwa bwino miyambo yonse ya Chiyuda ndiponso zonse zimene amatsutsana. Nʼchifukwa chake ndikukupemphani kuti mundimvetsere moleza mtima.
4 “Indeed, all the Jews know my way of life from my youth up, which was from the beginning among my own nation and at Jerusalem;
“Ayuda onse akudziwa za moyo wanga mmene ndakhalira kuyambira ndili mwana, kuchokera pachiyambi cha moyo wanga mʼdziko lathu ndiponso mu Yerusalemu.
5 having known me from the first, if they are willing to testify, that after the strictest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.
Iwo akundidziwa kuyambira kalekale ndipo angathe kuchitira umboni kuti ndakhala ndili Mfarisi moyo wanga wonse, mmodzi wa gulu limene limasamala chipembedzo chathu koposa.
6 Now I stand here to be judged for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers,
Ndipo tsopano ndikuyimbidwa mlandu lero chifukwa cha chiyembekezo changa pa zimene Mulungu analonjeza makolo athu.
7 which our twelve tribes, earnestly serving night and day, hope to attain. Concerning this hope I am accused by the Jews, King Agrippa!
Ili ndi lonjezo limene mafuko athu khumi ndi awiri akuyembekezera kuti likwaniritsidwe pamene akupembedza Mulungu molimbika usana ndi usiku. Wolemekezeka Mfumu, nʼchifukwa cha chiyembekezo chimenechi Ayuda kuti akundiyimba mlandu.
8 Why is it judged incredible with you if God does raise the dead?
Nʼchifukwa chiyani ena a inu mukuganiza kuti nʼkosatheka kuti Mulungu aukitse akufa?
9 “I myself most certainly thought that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
“Inenso ndimaganiza kuti ndimayenera kuchita zinthu zambiri pofuna kuthana ndi dzina la Yesu wa ku Nazareti.
10 I also did this in Jerusalem. I both shut up many of the saints in prisons, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death I gave my vote against them.
Ndipo izi ndi zimene ndinazichita ku Yerusalemu. Ndi ulamuliro wa akulu a ansembe, ine ndinayika mʼndende oyera mtima ambiri, ndipo pamene amaphedwa, ine ndimavomereza.
11 Punishing them often in all the synagogues, I tried to make them blaspheme. Being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities.
Nthawi zambiri ndinkapita mʼsunagoge iliyonse kuti alangidwe, ndipo ndinayesera kuwakakamiza kuti achitire chipongwe Mulungu. Mu mkwiyo wangawo, ndimapita ngakhale ku mizinda yachilendo kuti ndikawazunze.
12 “Whereupon as I traveled to Damascus with the authority and commission from the chief priests,
“Pa ulendo wina wotere, ndikupita ku Damasiko ndi mphamvu ndi ulamuliro ochokera kwa akulu a ansembe,
13 at noon, O king, I saw on the way a light from the sky, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who traveled with me.
Wolemekezeka Mfumu, nthawi ya masana pamene ndimayenda pa msewu, ndinaona kuwala kuchokera kumwamba koposa kuwala kwa dzuwa kutandizungulira ine pamodzi ndi anzangawo.
14 When we had all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’
Tonse tinagwa pansi ndipo ndinamva mawu mʼChihebri akuti, ‘Saulo, Saulo chifukwa chiyani ukundizunza Ine? Nʼkovuta kulimbikira mtunda wopanda madzi.’”
15 “I said, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ “He said, ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.
Ndipo ine ndinafunsa kuti, “Ndinu ndani Ambuye?” Ambuye anayankha kuti, “Ndine Yesu, amene iwe ukumuzunza.
16 But arise, and stand on your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose: to appoint you a servant and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will reveal to you;
Tsopano dzuka ndipo imirira. Ine ndaonekera kwa iwe kuti ndikusankhe kuti ukhale mtumiki ndiponso mboni ya zimene waziona za Ine ndiponso zimene ndidzakuonetsa.
17 delivering you from the people and from the Gentiles, to whom I send you,
Ine ndidzakulanditsa mʼmanja mwa anthu a mtundu wako ndiponso mwa anthu a mitundu ina. Ine ndikukutuma kwa iwo,
18 to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
kuti ukatsekule maso awo kuti atembenuke mtima kuchoka ku mdima ndi kulowa mʼkuwala, kuchoka ku mphamvu za Satana ndi kupita kwa Mulungu, kuti alandire chikhululukiro cha machimo awo ndi kukhala mʼgulu la amene akuyeretsedwa chifukwa chokhulupirira Ine.
19 “Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,
“Nʼchifukwa chake Mfumu Agripa, sindinakane kumvera masomphenya wochokera kumwamba.
20 but declared first to them of Damascus, at Jerusalem, and throughout all the country of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance.
Kuyambira kwa anthu a ku Damasiko, a ku Yerusalemu, a ku Yudeya konse ndi kwa anthu a mitundu inanso, ndinalalikira kuti akuyenera kulapa ndi kutembenukira kwa Mulungu ndikuti aonetse kulapa kwawo mwa ntchito zawo.
21 For this reason the Jews seized me in the temple and tried to kill me.
Ichi nʼchifukwa chake Ayuda anandigwira mʼbwalo la Nyumba ya Mulungu nafuna kundipha.
22 Having therefore obtained the help that is from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would happen,
Koma Mulungu wakhala akundithandiza mpaka lero lino. Ine ndayima pano kuti ndichitire umboni kwa anthu onse otchuka ndi anthu wamba. Ine sindikunena zina zowonjezera koma zimene Aneneri ndi Mose ananena kuti zidzachitika.
23 how the Christ must suffer, and how, by the resurrection of the dead, he would be first to proclaim light both to these people and to the Gentiles.”
Iwo ananena kuti Khristu adzamva zowawa ndipo popeza Iye adzakhala woyamba kuuka kwa akufa, adzalalikira za kuwunika kwa anthu a mtundu wake ndiponso kwa anthu a mitundu ina.”
24 As he thus made his defense, Festus said with a loud voice, “Paul, you are crazy! Your great learning is driving you insane!”
Paulo akudziteteza, Festo anakweza mawu nati, “Wazungulira mutu Paulo! Kuphunzira kwako kwakuchititsa misala.”
25 But he said, “I am not crazy, most excellent Festus, but boldly declare words of truth and reasonableness.
Paulo anayankha nati, “Wolemekezeka Festo, sindine wozungulira mutu. Zimene ndikunena ndi zoona ndiponso za nzeru.
26 For the king knows of these things, to whom also I speak freely. For I am persuaded that none of these things is hidden from him, for this has not been done in a corner.
Mfumu ikuzidziwa bwino zinthu izi, ndipo ndikuyankhula momasuka kwa iyo. Ine ndikukhulupirira kuti palibe kanthu nʼkamodzi komwe kamene sukukadziwa, chifukwa izi sizinachike mseri.
27 King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know that you believe.”
Mfumu Agripa, kodi mumakhulupirira mawu a aneneri? Ine ndikudziwa kuti mumakhulupirira.”
28 Agrippa said to Paul, “With a little persuasion are you trying to make me a Christian?”
Kenaka Agripa anati kwa Paulo, “Kodi ukuganiza kuti mʼkanthawi kochepa kotere ungandikope kuti ndikhale Mkhristu?”
29 Paul said, “I pray to God, that whether with little or with much, not only you, but also all that hear me today, might become such as I am, except for these bonds.”
Paulo anayankha kuti, “Ngakhale kanthawi kochepa kapena nthawi yayitali, ine ndikupempha kwa Mulungu kuti osati inu nokha koma aliyense amene akundimva lero lino akhale monga ine, kupatulapo maunyolo okhawa.”
30 The king rose up with the governor and Bernice, and those who sat with them.
Mfumu inayimirira pamodzi ndi bwanamkubwa ndi Bernisi ndiponso anthu onse amene anakhala nawo pamodzi.
31 When they had withdrawn, they spoke to one another, saying, “This man does nothing worthy of death or of bonds.”
Inatuluka mʼchipindamo, ndipo pamene imayankhula inati, “Munthu uyu sanachite kanthu koyenera kuphedwa kapena kumangidwa.”
32 Agrippa said to Festus, “This man might have been set free if he had not appealed to Caesar.”
Agripa anati kwa Festo, “Munthu uyu akanamasulidwa akanakhala kuti sanapemphe zokaonekera kwa Kaisara.”
