< Acts 22 >

1 “Brothers and fathers, listen to the defense which I now make to you.”
“Kakabsat ken amma, dumngegkayo iti panangikalintegak nga isu ita iti aramidek iti imatangyo.”
2 When they heard that he spoke to them in the Hebrew language, they were even more quiet. He said,
Idi nangngeg dagiti adu a tattao a nagsao ni Pablo kadakuada iti pagsasao a Hebreo, timmalnada. Kinunana,
3 “I am indeed a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, instructed according to the strict tradition of the law of our fathers, being zealous for God, even as you all are today.
Siak ket Judio, naiyanakak idiay Tarso iti Cilicia, ngem nagadalak iti daytoy a siudad iti sakaanan ni Gamaliel. Nasuroanak babaen kadagiti nainget a wagas iti linteg dagiti kapuonantayo. Naregtaak para iti Dios, kas kadakayo amin ita.
4 I persecuted this Way to the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women,
Indadanesko daytoy a Dalan agingga iti pannakatay; Ginalutak nga agpada dagiti lallaki ken babbai ken impanko ida iti pagbaludan.
5 as also the high priest and all the council of the elders testify, from whom also I received letters to the brothers, and traveled to Damascus to bring them also who were there to Jerusalem in bonds to be punished.
Kasta met a ti kangatoan a padi ken dagiti amin a panglakayen ket mabalinda a paneknekan a nakaawatak kadagiti surat a naggapu kadakuada para kadagiti kakabsat idiay Damasco, tapno agdaliasatak sadiay. Isublik koma a nakakawar dagidiay adda iti daytoy a Dalan a madusa idiay Jerusalem.
6 “As I made my journey and came close to Damascus, about noon suddenly a great light shone around me from the sky.
Ti napasamak ket idi agdaldaliasatak ken umasidegakon idiay Damasco, idi agtengngan ti aldaw, kellaat nga adda iti naindaklan a silaw manipud iti langit a nangrugi a nagraniag iti aglawlawko.
7 I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’
Natumbaak iti daga ken nakangngegak iti timek a nagsao kaniak, 'Saulo, Saulo, apay nga idaddadanesnak?'
8 I answered, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ He said to me, ‘I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you persecute.’
Simmungbatak, 'Siasinnoka Apo?' Kinunana kaniak, 'Siak ni Jesus ti Nasaret, nga idaddadanesmo.'
9 “Those who were with me indeed saw the light and were afraid, but they didn’t understand the voice of him who spoke to me.
Nakita dagiti kakaduak ti lawag, ngem saanda a nangngeg ti timek ti nangkatungtong kaniak.
10 I said, ‘What shall I do, Lord?’ The Lord said to me, ‘Arise, and go into Damascus. There you will be told about all things which are appointed for you to do.’
Kinunak, 'Ania iti rumbeng nga aramidek, Apo? Kinuna ti Apo kaniak, 'Bumangonka ket mapanka idiay Damasco, sadiay maibaganto kenka ti tunggal banag a masapul nga aramidem.'
11 When I couldn’t see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of those who were with me, I came into Damascus.
Saanak a makakita gapu iti dayta a raniag ti silaw, isu a napanak sadiay Damasco a naiturong babaen kadagiti im-ima dagiti kakaduak.
12 “One Ananias, a devout man according to the law, well reported of by all the Jews who lived in Damascus,
Sadiay, nakaam-ammoak iti tao nga agnagan iti Ananias, maysa a napasnek a tao no maipanggep iti linteg ken nasayaat ti ibagbaga dagiti amin a Judio nga agnanaed sadiay maipanggep kenkuana.
13 came to me, and standing by me said to me, ‘Brother Saul, receive your sight!’ In that very hour I looked up at him.
Immay isuna kaniak, nagtakder iti abayko, ket kinunana, 'Kabsat a Saulo, awatem ti panagkitam.' Iti dayta met laeng nga oras, nakitak isuna.
14 He said, ‘The God of our fathers has appointed you to know his will, and to see the Righteous One, and to hear a voice from his mouth.
Ket kinunana, 'Pinilinaka ti Dios dagiti kapuonantayo a mangammo iti pagayatanna, a mangkita iti Daydiay Nalinteg, ken denggem iti timek nga aggapu iti ngiwatna.
15 For you will be a witness for him to all men of what you have seen and heard.
Ta sikanto iti mangpaneknek kenkuana kadagiti amin a tattao maipanggep iti nakitam ken nangngegmo.
16 Now why do you wait? Arise, be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.’
Ket ita apay nga agur-urayka? Tumakderka, agpabautisar ken ugasam dagiti basbasolmo, ken umawagka iti naganna.'
17 “When I had returned to Jerusalem and while I prayed in the temple, I fell into a trance
Kalpasan a nagsubliak idiay Jerusalem ken kabayatan nga agkarkararagak idiay templo, nakakitaak iti sirmata.
18 and saw him saying to me, ‘Hurry and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not receive testimony concerning me from you.’
Nakitak isuna ket kinunana kaniak, 'Darasem a pumanaw iti Jerusalem, gapu ta saanda nga awaten ti pammaneknekmo maipanggep kaniak.'
19 I said, ‘Lord, they themselves know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue those who believed in you.
Kinunak, 'Apo, ammoda nga imbaludko ken sinaplitak dagiti namati kenka iti tunggal sinagoga.
20 When the blood of Stephen, your witness, was shed, I also was standing by, consenting to his death, and guarding the cloaks of those who killed him.’
Idi nagaruyot ti dara ni Esteban a saksim, nagtaktakderak met sadiay ken imman-anamong, ken binanbantayak dagiti pagan-anay dagiti nangpapatay kenkuana.'
21 “He said to me, ‘Depart, for I will send you out far from here to the Gentiles.’”
Ngem kinunana kaniak, 'Pumanawka, gapu ta ibaonka kadagiti Hentil.'”
22 They listened to him until he said that; then they lifted up their voice and said, “Rid the earth of this fellow, for he isn’t fit to live!”
Pinalubosan isuna dagiti tattao nga agsao agingga iti daytoy a punto. Ngem kalpasanna nagpupukkawda a kunada, 'Ipanaw ti kastoy a tao iti daga: Ta saan a rumbeng nga agbiag isuna.”
23 As they cried out, threw off their cloaks, and threw dust into the air,
Kabayatan nga agpupukkawda, impurwakda dagiti kawesda ken nagipurwakda iti tapok sadiay tangatang.
24 the commanding officer commanded him to be brought into the barracks, ordering him to be examined by scourging, that he might know for what crime they shouted against him like that.
Ket imbilin ti kangatoan a kapitan a maiyapan ni Pablo idiay kuartel. Imbilinna a rumbeng isuna a masaludsod a nakadwaan iti pannakadusa, tapno isuna a mismo ket maamoanna no apay nga agpukpukawda iti kasta a maibusor kenni Pablo.
25 When they had tied him up with thongs, Paul asked the centurion who stood by, “Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is a Roman, and not found guilty?”
Idi ginalotanda isuna iti lalat, imbaga ni Pablo iti senturion nga agtaktakder, “Nainkalintegan kadi kenka a mangdusa iti tao a Romano ken saan pay a nausig?”
26 When the centurion heard it, he went to the commanding officer and told him, “Watch what you are about to do, for this man is a Roman!”
Idi nangngeg daytoy ti senturion, napan isuna iti panguloen a kapitan ket imbagana kenkuana, a kunana “Ania ti aramidem? Ta daytoy a tao ket umili iti Roma.”
27 The commanding officer came and asked him, “Tell me, are you a Roman?” He said, “Yes.”
Immay ti panguloen a kapitan ket imbagana kenkuana, “Ibagam kaniak, umili ka kadi iti Roma?” Kinuna ni Pablo, “Wen.”
28 The commanding officer answered, “I bought my citizenship for a great price.” Paul said, “But I was born a Roman.”
Simmungbat ti panguloen a kapitan, “Gapu laeng iti dakkel a gatad iti kwarta a nagun-odko iti kina-Romano.” Ngem kinuna ni Pablo, “Naiyanakak nga umili iti Roma.”
29 Immediately those who were about to examine him departed from him, and the commanding officer also was afraid when he realized that he was a Roman, because he had bound him.
Kalpasanna, dagus a pinanawan isuna dagiti lallaki a mangpalutpot koma kenkuana. Nabutngan met ti panguloen a kapitan idi naamoanna a ni Pablo ket maysa nga umili iti Roma, gapu ta inggalotna isuna.
30 But on the next day, desiring to know the truth about why he was accused by the Jews, he freed him from the bonds and commanded the chief priests and all the council to come together, and brought Paul down and set him before them.
Iti simmaruno nga aldaw, kayat a maammoan ti kangatoan a kapitan ti kinapudno maipanggep iti panangpabasol dagiti Judio a maibusor kenni Pablo. Isu a winarwarna dagiti galotna ket binilinna dagiti panguloen a papadi ken dagiti amin a mammagbaga nga agguummongda. Ket inyapanna ni Pablo iti baba ken ingkabilna isuna iti nagtetengngaanda.
