2 Corinthians 7

1 Having therefore these promises, beloved, let’s cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Por tanto, amados, puesto que tenemos estas promesas, purifiquémonos de toda contaminación del cuerpo y del espíritu, y perfeccionemos [la] santidad en [el] temor a Dios.

2 Open your hearts to us. We wronged no one. We corrupted no one. We took advantage of no one.

Admítannos. A nadie hicimos mal, a nadie corrompimos, a nadie engañamos.

3 I say this not to condemn you, for I have said before that you are in our hearts to die together and live together.

No [lo] digo para condenación, porque ya dije que están en nuestros corazones para morir y vivir juntos.

4 Great is my boldness of speech toward you. Great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort. I overflow with joy in all our affliction.

Yo tengo mucha franqueza con ustedes. Me enaltezco mucho por esto. Me llené de consolación. Sobreabundo de gozo en todas nuestras aflicciones.

5 For even when we had come into Macedonia, our flesh had no relief, but we were afflicted on every side. Fightings were outside. Fear was inside.

Porque en verdad cuando fuimos a Macedonia, nuestro cuerpo no tuvo algún reposo, sino fuimos afligidos en todo: de afuera, conflictos, de adentro, temores.

6 Nevertheless, he who comforts the lowly, God, comforted us by the coming of Titus,

Pero Dios, Quien consuela a los humildes, nos consoló con la presencia de Tito,

7 and not by his coming only, but also by the comfort with which he was comforted in you while he told us of your longing, your mourning, and your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced still more.

no solo con su presencia, sino también con la consolación que [él] recibió de ustedes. Pues nos informó del anhelo de ustedes, de su llanto y preocupación por mí. Fui consolado hasta el punto de regocijarme aun más.

8 For though I grieved you with my letter, I do not regret it, though I did regret it. For I see that my letter made you grieve, though just for a while.

Pues ciertamente los entristecí con la epístola, pero no me pesa, aunque entonces me lamenté. Veo que aunque aquella epístola los entristeció por algún tiempo,

9 I now rejoice, not that you were grieved, but that you were grieved to repentance. For you were grieved in a godly way, that you might suffer loss by us in nothing.

ahora gozo, no porque fueron entristecidos, sino porque fueron entristecidos para cambio de mente. Fueron entristecidos según Dios para que en nada fueran entristecidos por causa de nosotros.

10 For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death.

La tristeza según Dios se activa en cambio de mente para salvación sin remordimiento, pero la tristeza del mundo se manifiesta en muerte.

11 For behold, this same thing, that you were grieved in a godly way, what earnest care it worked in you. Yes, what defense, indignation, fear, longing, zeal, and vindication! In everything you demonstrated yourselves to be pure in the matter.

Consideren que por ser entristecidos según Dios, ¡cuánta diligencia se manifestó en ustedes! También defensa, indignación, temor, ardiente afecto, celo y vindicación. Se demostraron a ustedes mismos que son inocentes en todo.

12 So although I wrote to you, I wrote not for his cause that did the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered the wrong, but that your earnest care for us might be revealed in you in the sight of God.

Así que, aunque les escribí, no ocurrió por causa del que cometió el agravio, ni por el agraviado, sino para que la devoción de nosotros por ustedes delante de Dios se manifestara.

13 Therefore we have been comforted. In our comfort we rejoiced the more exceedingly for the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by you all.

Por esto fuimos consolados. Pero fuimos regocijados mucho más por el gozo de Tito, porque su espíritu fue tranquilizado por todos ustedes.

14 For if in anything I have boasted to him on your behalf, I was not disappointed. But as we spoke all things to you in truth, so our glorying also which I made before Titus was found to be truth.

Porque si en algo me enaltecí con respecto a ustedes, no fui avergonzado. Más bien, como todas las cosas que hablamos en cuanto a ustedes son verdad, así también nuestra buena apreciación ante Tito fue verdad.

15 His affection is more abundantly toward you, while he remembers all of your obedience, how with fear and trembling you received him.

Su afecto entrañable hacia ustedes es aun más abundante cuando [él] se acuerda de la obediencia de todos ustedes, cómo lo recibieron con temor y temblor.

16 I rejoice that in everything I am confident concerning you.

Me regocijo porque en todo tengo confianza en ustedes.
