1 Kings 5
1 Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon, for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the place of his father, and Hiram had always loved David.
Und Hiram, der König von Tyrus, sandte seine Knechte zu Salomo, denn er hatte gehört, daß man ihn zum König gesalbt hatte an seines Vaters Statt; denn Hiram war allezeit ein Freund Davids gewesen.
2 Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
Und Salomo sandte zu Hiram und ließ ihm sagen:
3 “You know that David my father could not build a house for the name of Yahweh his God because of the wars which were around him on every side, until Yahweh put his enemies under the soles of his feet.
Du weißt ja, daß mein Vater David nicht vermochte, dem Namen Jehovas, seines Gottes, ein Haus zu bauen, wegen der Kriege, mit welchen sie ihn umgaben, bis Jehova sie unter seine Fußsohlen legte.
4 But now Yahweh my God has given me rest on every side. There is no enemy and no evil occurrence.
Nun aber hat Jehova, mein Gott, mir Ruhe geschafft ringsum; da ist kein Widersacher mehr und kein schlimmes Begegnis.
5 Behold, I intend to build a house for the name of Yahweh my God, as Yahweh spoke to David my father, saying, ‘Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place shall build the house for my name.’
Und siehe, ich gedenke dem Namen Jehovas, meines Gottes, ein Haus zu bauen, so wie Jehova zu meinem Vater David geredet und gesagt hat: Dein Sohn, den ich an deiner Statt auf deinen Thron setzen werde, der soll meinem Namen ein Haus bauen.
6 Now therefore command that cedar trees be cut for me out of Lebanon. My servants will be with your servants; and I will give you wages for your servants according to all that you say. For you know that there is nobody among us who knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.”
Und nun gebiete, daß man mir Zedern vom Libanon haue; und meine Knechte sollen mit deinen Knechten sein; und den Lohn deiner Knechte will ich dir geben nach allem, was du sagen wirst; denn du weißt ja, daß niemand unter uns ist, der Holz zu hauen versteht wie die Zidonier.
7 When Hiram heard the words of Solomon, he rejoiced greatly, and said, “Blessed is Yahweh today, who has given to David a wise son to rule over this great people.”
Und es geschah, als Hiram die Worte Salomos hörte, da freute er sich sehr; und er sprach: Gepriesen sei heute Jehova, der David einen weisen Sohn gegeben hat über dieses große Volk!
8 Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, “I have heard the message which you have sent to me. I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning cypress timber.
Und Hiram sandte zu Salomo und ließ ihm sagen: Ich habe gehört, was du mir entboten hast; ich will all dein Begehr tun betreffs des Zedernholzes und betreffs des Zypressenholzes.
9 My servants will bring them down from Lebanon to the sea. I will make them into rafts to go by sea to the place that you specify to me, and will cause them to be broken up there, and you will receive them. You will accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.”
Meine Knechte sollen es vom Libanon an das Meer hinabbringen; und ich werde auf dem Meere Flöße daraus machen und sie bis an den Ort bringen lassen, den du mir angeben wirst, und dort will ich sie zerlegen lassen; und du sollst es abholen. Du aber sollst mein Begehr tun, indem du den Speisebedarf meines Hauses gibst.
10 So Hiram gave Solomon cedar timber and cypress timber according to all his desire.
Und so gab Hiram dem Salomo Zedernholz und Zypressenholz nach all seinem Begehr.
11 Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat for food to his household, and twenty cors of pure oil. Solomon gave this to Hiram year by year.
Salomo aber gab Hiram zwanzigtausend Kor Weizen zur Nahrung für sein Haus, und zwanzig Kor zerstoßenes Öl: so gab Salomo dem Hiram Jahr für Jahr.
12 Yahweh gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him. There was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty together.
Und Jehova gab Salomo Weisheit, so wie er zu ihm geredet hatte; und es war Friede zwischen Hiram und Salomo, und sie machten einen Bund miteinander.
13 King Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.
Und der König Salomo hob Fronarbeiter aus ganz Israel aus, und der Fronarbeiter waren dreißigtausend Mann.
14 He sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses: for a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home; and Adoniram was over the men subject to forced labor.
Und er schickte sie auf den Libanon, zehntausend im Monat, wechselweise: einen Monat waren sie auf dem Libanon, zwei Monate in ihrem Hause; und Adoniram war über die Fronarbeiter.
15 Solomon had seventy thousand who bore burdens, and eighty thousand who were stone cutters in the mountains,
Und Salomo hatte siebzigtausend Lastträger und achtzigtausend Steinhauer im Gebirge,
16 besides Solomon’s chief officers who were over the work: three thousand three hundred who ruled over the people who labored in the work.
ohne die Oberaufseher Salomos, welche über die Arbeit waren, dreitausenddreihundert, die über das Volk walteten, das an der Arbeit beschäftigt war.
17 The king commanded, and they cut out large stones, costly stones, to lay the foundation of the house with worked stone.
Und der König gebot, und sie brachen große Steine, wertvolle Steine, um den Grund des Hauses zu legen, behauene Steine.
18 Solomon’s builders and Hiram’s builders and the Gebalites cut them, and prepared the timber and the stones to build the house.
Und die Bauleute Salomos und die Bauleute Hirams und die Gibliter behieben sie, und sie richteten das Holz und die Steine zum Bau des Hauses zu.
