< 1 John 2 >

1 My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have a Counselor with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous.
Loqꞌalaj taq walkꞌwaꞌl, kintzꞌibꞌaj we jastaq riꞌ chiꞌwe rech man kixmakun taj. We kꞌu ne kꞌo jun kamakun chiꞌwe, kꞌo jun chꞌawenel pa qawiꞌ choch ri Tataxel Dios, are ri Jesucristo ri sukꞌ.
2 And he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world.
Are ri Jesucristo xya pa kamikal rumal ri qamak, man xaq xwi taj rumal ri qamak uj xane xkam xuqujeꞌ rumal ri kimak konojel ri winaq choch ri uwachulew.
3 This is how we know that we know him: if we keep his commandments.
Qetaꞌm uwach riꞌ ri Dios we kaqanimaj ri utaqanik.
4 One who says, “I know him,” and doesn’t keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth isn’t in him.
Ri winaq ri kubꞌij wetaꞌm uwach ri Dios, kꞌa te riꞌ man kunimaj taj ri utaqanik, xaq bꞌanal tzij, man retaꞌm taj uwach riꞌ ri qas tzij.
5 But God’s love has most certainly been perfected in whoever keeps his word. This is how we know that we are in him:
Are kꞌu ri uloqꞌanik ri Dios kukꞌut ribꞌ pa ri winaq ri kunimaj ri utz laj tzij. Are waꞌ kakꞌutuwik chi xa jun qaꞌnik rukꞌ ri Dios.
6 he who says he remains in him ought himself also to walk just like he walked.
Ri winaq ri kubꞌij chi kꞌo pa Cristo, rajawaxik je kanoꞌjinik jetaq ri xnoꞌjin areꞌ.
7 Brothers, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from the beginning.
Loqꞌalaj taq wachalal, man jun kꞌakꞌ taqanik taj ri kintzꞌibꞌaj chiꞌwe, xane ojer chik yaꞌtal loq chiꞌwe. We ojer taqanik riꞌ are ri utzij ri Dios ri xitatabꞌej.
8 Again, I write a new commandment to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light already shines.
Xuqujeꞌ kintzꞌibꞌaj chiꞌwe jun kꞌakꞌ taqanik riꞌ ri kakꞌulmataj na pa Cristo xuqujeꞌ pa taq ri ikꞌaslemal ix, jeriꞌ rumal tajin kasach uwach ri qꞌequꞌmal are tajin katunan chik ri tunal.
9 He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in the darkness even until now.
Ri winaq ri kubꞌij chi kꞌo pa ri tunal kꞌa te riꞌ karetzelaj uwach ri rachalal, riꞌ pa ri qꞌequꞌmal ri kꞌo wi.
10 He who loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no occasion for stumbling in him.
Ri winaq ri kuloqꞌaj ri rachalal pa ri tunal riꞌ kꞌo wiꞌ, maj jun jastaq kaqꞌaten na pa ri ukꞌaslemal.
11 But he who hates his brother is in the darkness, and walks in the darkness, and doesn’t know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
Ri karetzelaj ri rachalal, kꞌo ri pa ri qꞌequꞌmal, pa ri qꞌequꞌmal riꞌ kꞌo wi rachoch, man retaꞌm ta riꞌ jawjeꞌ keꞌ wi, rumal ri qꞌequꞌmal karil ta ri ubꞌe.
12 I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.
Kintzꞌibꞌaj we wuj riꞌ chiꞌwe ix alkꞌwaꞌlaxelabꞌ rumal xkuyutaj ri imak pa ri ubꞌiꞌ ri Cristo.
13 I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, little children, because you know the Father.
Kintzꞌibꞌaj we wuj riꞌ chiꞌwe ix tat nan rumal cher iwetaꞌm loq uwach ri Cristo kꞌo wi loq pa ri majibꞌal rech ronojel. Kintzꞌibꞌaj xuqujeꞌ chiꞌwe ix akꞌal taq alabꞌom, akꞌal taq alitomabꞌ rumal cher xichꞌek ri itzel.
14 I have written to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God remains in you, and you have overcome the evil one.
Kintzꞌibꞌaj chiꞌwe ix tat nan, rumal cher iwetaꞌm uwach ri Dios ri kꞌo wi loq pa ri majibꞌal rech ronojel. Kintzꞌibꞌaj chiꞌwe ix akꞌal taq alabꞌom, akꞌal taq alitomabꞌ rumal cher sibꞌalaj kꞌo ichuqꞌabꞌ xuqujeꞌ ri utzij ri Dios kꞌo pa iwanimaꞌ, xuqujeꞌ xichꞌek ri itzel.
15 Don’t love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him.
Meꞌ ikꞌuꞌx rukꞌ ri jastaq rech uwachulew. We jachin kuloqꞌaj ri jastaq rech ri uwachulew, man kꞌo ta riꞌ ri uloqꞌanik ri Tataxel Dios pa ranimaꞌ.
16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s.
Ronojel ri jastaq rech uwachulew, ri itzel taq urayinik ri tyoꞌjal, ri jiqꞌjatem ri kukaꞌyej ri bꞌoqꞌochaj, ri nimal ri kunaꞌ jun, man rukꞌ taj ri Tataxel Dios kape wi, xane rech ri uwachulew.
17 The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does God’s will remains forever. (aiōn g165)
Ri itzel taq rayinik rech ri uwachulew kasach na uwach, are kꞌu ri winaq ri kunimaj ri kubꞌij ri Dios, kakꞌasiꞌ na chibꞌe qꞌij saq. (aiōn g165)
18 Little children, these are the end times, and as you heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen. By this we know that it is the final hour.
Loqꞌalaj taq walkꞌwaꞌl, uj kꞌo chi pa ri kꞌisbꞌal taq qꞌij, jetaq ri xitatabꞌej chi kape na ri winaq ri kujaluj chi are Cristo, sibꞌalaj e kꞌi chik ri winaq ri kakijaluj chi aꞌreꞌ e Cristo rumal laꞌ kinbꞌij chiꞌwe chi uj kꞌo pa taq ri kꞌisbꞌal taq qꞌij kamik.
19 They went out from us, but they didn’t belong to us; for if they had belonged to us, they would have continued with us. But they left, that they might be revealed that none of them belong to us.
Pune we winaq riꞌ qukꞌ xeꞌl wi bꞌik, man kel ta kubꞌij chi e qachiꞌl, we ta e qachiꞌl xekanaj ta kan riꞌ qukꞌ. Xel kꞌu bꞌik qukꞌ rumal man e qachiꞌl taj.
20 You have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all have knowledge.
Ri ix kꞌut, xikꞌamawaꞌj ri Tyoxalaj Uxlabꞌixel, rumal riꞌ iwetaꞌm uwach ri qas tzij.
21 I have not written to you because you don’t know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth.
Man kintzꞌibꞌaj taj we tzij riꞌ chiꞌwe rumal man iwetaꞌm taj ri qas tzij, xane kintzꞌibꞌaj chiꞌwe rumal iwetaꞌm ri qas tzij xuqujeꞌ rumal maj xa ta ne nitzꞌ bꞌanoj tzij kꞌo pa ri qas tzij.
22 Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the Antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son.
¿Jachin kꞌu ri bꞌanal tzij we man are ri winaq ri man kuqꞌalajisaj taj ri Cristo? Ri winaq ri kujaluj chi are Cristo, are riꞌ ri winaq ri man kakojon ta che ri Dios rachiꞌl ri Cristo.
23 Whoever denies the Son doesn’t have the Father. He who confesses the Son has the Father also.
Ri man kakojon ta che ri Cristo, ri kꞌojolaxel, man kꞌo ta riꞌ ri Tataxel Dios pa ranimaꞌ, ri kakojon che ri Cristo, kꞌo riꞌ ri Tataxel Dios pa ranimaꞌ.
24 Therefore, as for you, let that remain in you which you heard from the beginning. If that which you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will remain in the Son, and in the Father.
Kꞌol pa iwanimaꞌ ri kꞌuttal loq chiꞌwach are xmajtaj loq ronojel, rech jeriꞌ kixkꞌojiꞌ pa Dios xuqujeꞌ pa ri ukꞌojol Jesús.
25 This is the promise which he promised us, the eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
Ri ubꞌim kanoq ri Cristo chaqe are ri jun alik kꞌaslemal ri xuya chaqe. (aiōnios g166)
26 These things I have written to you concerning those who would lead you astray.
Areꞌ waꞌ ri jastaq ri kintzꞌibꞌaj chiꞌwe rech maj jun kixsubꞌuwik.
27 As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don’t need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him.
Xuqujeꞌ ri uxlabꞌal ri xikꞌamawaꞌj che ri Cristo kꞌo chiꞌwe, man rajawaxik ta chik chi jun winaq kakꞌutuw chiꞌwach. Ri uxlabꞌal ri xikꞌamawaꞌj, qas che ri Dios xikꞌamawaꞌj wiꞌ man xaq ta esal uwach, are waꞌ ri kakꞌutuw na chiꞌwach ronojel ri jastaq. Chixjeqel bꞌa pa Cristo jacha ri xukꞌut kanoq chiꞌwach.
28 Now, little children, remain in him, that when he appears, we may have boldness and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
Loqꞌalaj taq walkꞌwaꞌl, chixkꞌol bꞌa pa Cristo, rech are kapetik man kubꞌan ta kebꞌ qakꞌuꞌx are kaqakꞌut qibꞌ choch, rech man kel taj qakꞌixibꞌal.
29 If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of him.
We qas kichꞌobꞌo chi ri Jesucristo maj umak, chichꞌobꞌo xuqujeꞌ chi ri winaq ri kubꞌan ri sukꞌal, che ri Cristo petinaq wi.
