< 1 Corinthians 6 >

1 Dare any of you, having a matter against his neighbor, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints?
DARE any of you, having a matter of controversy with another, sue for judgment before the unjust, and not before the saints?
2 Don’t you know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
Know ye not that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to be judges in the smallest matters?
3 Don’t you know that we will judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?
Know ye not that we shall judge angels, much more things pertaining to this life?
4 If then you have to judge things pertaining to this life, do you set them to judge who are of no account in the assembly?
If then ye have disputes about the things of this life, do you seat those on the bench who are least esteemed in the church?
5 I say this to move you to shame. Isn’t there even one wise man among you who would be able to decide between his brothers?
I speak to you to shame you. Is it so, that there is not among you a wise man? Not so much as one who is able to judge between one brother and another?
6 But brother goes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers!
But brother goes to law with brother, and this before the unbelievers.
7 Therefore it is already altogether a defect in you that you have lawsuits one with another. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded?
Now verily therefore there is altogether a fault among you, because ye have law-suits one with another. Why do ye not rather submit to the wrong? Why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?
8 No, but you yourselves do wrong and defraud, and that against your brothers.
But ye do wrong and defraud, and that the brethren.
9 Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor sodomites,
10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom.
nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11 Some of you were such, but you were washed. You were sanctified. You were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.
Yet such were some of you: but ye have been washed, but ye have been sanctified, but ye have been justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the spirit of our God.
12 “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are expedient. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be brought under the power of anything.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient; all things are lawful for me, but I will not put myself under the power of any.
13 “Foods for the belly, and the belly for foods,” but God will bring to nothing both it and them. But the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.
Meats are for the belly, and the belly for meats; but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for whoredom, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.
14 Now God raised up the Lord, and will also raise us up by his power.
And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will raise us up by his own power.
15 Don’t you know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be!
Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? Taking then the members of Christ, shall I make them members of an harlot? God forbid.
16 Or don’t you know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For, “The two”, he says, “will become one flesh.”
Do you not know that he that is joined to an harlot is one body with her? For they two, saith he, shall be “one flesh.”
17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.
But he that is joined to the Lord is one spirit.
18 Flee sexual immorality! “Every sin that a man does is outside the body,” but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
Flee whoredom. Every other sin which a man may commit is without the body; but he who committeth whoredom sinneth against his own body.
19 Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,
Do ye not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is in you, which ye have from God, and ye are not your own?
20 for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
For ye have been bought with a price: glorify then God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
