1 Chronicles 20
1 At the time of the return of the year, at the time when kings go out, Joab led out the army and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David stayed at Jerusalem. Joab struck Rabbah, and overthrew it.
Y aconteció a la vuelta del año, en el tiempo que suelen los reyes salir a la guerra, que Joab sacó las fuerzas del ejército, y destruyó la tierra de los hijos de Amón, y vino y cercó a Rabá. Mas David estaba en Jerusalén; y Joab batió a Rabá, y la destruyó.
2 David took the crown of their king from off his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and there were precious stones in it. It was set on David’s head, and he brought very much plunder out of the city.
Y David tomó la corona de su rey de encima de su cabeza, y la halló de peso de un talento de oro, y había en ella piedras preciosas; y fue puesta sobre la cabeza de David. Y Además de esto sacó de la ciudad un muy gran despojo.
3 He brought out the people who were in it, and had them cut with saws, with iron picks, and with axes. David did so to all the cities of the children of Ammon. Then David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.
Sacó también al pueblo que estaba en ella, y los cortó con sierras, y con trillos de hierro, y segures. Lo mismo hizo David a todas las ciudades de los hijos de Amón. Y se volvió David con todo el pueblo a Jerusalén.
4 After this, war arose at Gezer with the Philistines. Then Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Sippai, of the sons of the giant; and they were subdued.
Después de esto aconteció que se levantó guerra en Gezer con los filisteos; e hirió Sibecai husatita a Sipai, del linaje de los gigantes; y fueron humillados.
5 Again there was war with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair killed Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.
Y volvió a levantarse guerra con los filisteos; e hirió Elhanán hijo de Jair a Lahmi, hermano de Goliat geteo, el asta de cuya lanza era como un rodillo de un telar.
6 There was again war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had twenty-four fingers and toes, six on each hand and six on each foot; and he also was born to the giant.
Y volvió a haber guerra en Gat, donde hubo un hombre de grande estatura, el cual tenía seis dedos en sus pies y seis dedos en sus manos, en todos veinticuatro; y también era hijo del gigante.
7 When he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea, David’s brother, killed him.
Denostó él a Israel, mas lo hirió Jonatán, hijo de Simea hermano de David.
8 These were born to the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.
Estos fueron hijos del gigante en Gat, los cuales cayeron por mano de David y de sus siervos.
