Proverbs 25
1 These also are proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out.
১যিহূদাৰ ৰজা হিষ্কিয়াৰ লোক সকলে সংগ্ৰহ কৰা চলোমনৰ নীতিবাক্য এইবোৰ।
2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.
২বিষয়সমূহ গোপন ৰখাই ঈশ্বৰৰ গৌৰৱ; কিন্তু কথা অনুসন্ধান কৰি মুকলি কৰা ৰজাসকলৰ গৌৰৱ।
3 As the heavens for height, and the earth for depth, so the hearts of kings are unsearchable.
৩উচ্চতাৰ কাৰণে আকাশ, আৰু গভীৰতাৰ কাৰণে পৃথিৱী যিদৰে, সেইদৰে ৰজাসকলৰ হৃদয় অনুসন্ধান কৰা নাযায়।
4 Take away the dross from the silver, and material comes out for the refiner.
৪ৰূপৰ পৰা ধাতুমল দূৰ কৰা; ধাতুৰ কাম কৰা জনে তেওঁৰ শিল্পকাৰ্যত ৰূপ ব্যৱহাৰ কৰিব পাৰে;
5 Take away the wicked from the king’s presence, and his throne will be established in righteousness.
৫তাৰ উপৰিও ৰজাৰ সন্মুখৰ পৰা দুষ্টক দূৰ কৰা; ন্যায় কাৰ্য কৰাৰ দ্বাৰাই তেওঁৰ সিংহাসন স্থাপিত হ’ব।
6 Don’t exalt yourself in the presence of the king, or claim a place amongst great men;
৬ৰজাৰ সন্মুখত নিজকে নিজে প্রশংসা নকৰিবা; আৰু মহান লোকৰ বাবে ৰখা ঠাইত তুমি থিয় নহ’বা।
7 for it is better that it be said to you, “Come up here,” than that you should be put lower in the presence of the prince, whom your eyes have seen.
৭উচ্চপদস্থ ব্যক্তিৰ উপস্থিতিত অপদস্থ হোৱাতকৈ, “ইয়ালৈ আহাঁ”, এই বুলি তেওঁ তোমাক কোৱা ভাল। তোমাৰ সাক্ষ্য কি আছিল,
8 Don’t be hasty in bringing charges to court. What will you do in the end when your neighbour shames you?
৮বিচাৰত বেগাই গৈ উপস্থিত নহ’বা; কাৰণ যেতিয়া তোমাৰ চুবুৰীয়াই তোমাক লাজ দিব, তেতিয়া শেষত তুমি কি কৰিবা?
9 Debate your case with your neighbour, and don’t betray the confidence of another,
৯তোমাৰ আৰু চুবুৰীয়াৰ মাজত হোৱা বিবাদ নিজেই বিচাৰ কৰা, কিন্তু আন জনৰ গুপুত কথা প্ৰকাশ নকৰিবা;
10 lest one who hears it put you to shame, and your bad reputation never depart.
১০তোমাৰ কথা যিজনে শুনে, তেওঁ তোমাক লাজত পেলাব, আৰু দুষ্ট লোকে তোমাৰ বিষয়ে গোচৰ দিলে গুপুতে নাথাকিব।
11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.
১১ভাল কথা কোৱাটো ৰূপত খটোৱা সোণৰ আপেলৰ দৰে,
12 As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover to an obedient ear.
১২শুদ্ধ সোণেৰে গঢ়া সোণৰ আঙঠি বা অলঙ্কাৰ যেনে, জ্ঞানী লোকৰ অনুযোগ শুনা কাণো তেনে।
13 As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to those who send him; for he refreshes the soul of his masters.
১৩শস্য দোৱাৰ সময়ত হিমৰ চেঁচা যেনে, বিশ্বাসী বাৰ্ত্তাবাহক পঠোৱা সকলৰ বাবে তেনে; তেওঁ তেওঁৰ মালিকৰ আত্মা সতেজ কৰে;
14 As clouds and wind without rain, so is he who boasts of gifts deceptively.
১৪বৰষুণ নোহোৱা মেঘ আৰু বতাহ যেনে, মিছাকৈ দান দিছোঁ বুলি অহংকাৰ কৰা জনো তেনে।
15 By patience a ruler is persuaded. A soft tongue breaks the bone.
১৫ধৈৰ্যেৰে শাসনকৰ্ত্তাই প্ৰত্যয় জন্মাব পাৰে, আৰু নম্র জিভাই হাড় ভাঙিব পাৰে।
16 Have you found honey? Eat as much as is sufficient for you, lest you eat too much, and vomit it.
১৬তুমি যদি মৌ বিচাৰি পোৱা, যিমান প্ৰয়োজন সিমানহে খাবা; নহ’লে মৌ অতিৰিক্ত খালে তুমি বমি কৰিবা।
17 Let your foot be seldom in your neighbour’s house, lest he be weary of you, and hate you.
১৭তোমাৰ চুবুৰীয়াৰ ঘৰলৈ সঘনে নাযাবা, তেওঁ তোমালৈ আমনি পাই তোমাক ঘিণ কৰিব।
18 A man who gives false testimony against his neighbour is like a club, a sword, or a sharp arrow.
১৮যিজনে চুবুৰীয়াৰ বিৰুদ্ধে মিছা সাক্ষ্য দিয়ে, তেওঁ যুদ্ধত ব্যৱহাৰ কৰা গদা, বা তৰোৱাল, বা তীক্ষ্ন কাঁড়ৰ দৰে।
19 Confidence in someone unfaithful in time of trouble is like a bad tooth or a lame foot.
১৯বেয়া দাঁত অথবা পিছল খোৱা ভৰিৰ যেনে, সঙ্কটৰ সময়ত অবিশ্বাসী লোকক বিশ্বাস কৰাও তেনে।
20 As one who takes away a garment in cold weather, or vinegar on soda, so is one who sings songs to a heavy heart.
২০কোনো এজনে মনৰ বেজাৰত গীত গোৱা যেনে, জাৰ কালিত কপোৰ সোলোকাই থোৱা মানুহ, বা খাৰৰ ওপৰত দিয়া ভিনেগাৰো তেনে।
21 If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat. If he is thirsty, give him water to drink;
২১তোমাৰ শত্ৰু যদি ক্ষুধাতুৰ হয়, তেনেহ’লে তেওঁক আহাৰ খাবলৈ দিয়া; আৰু তেওঁ যদি তৃষ্ণাতুৰ হয়, তেনেহ’লে তেওঁক পানী খাবলৈ দিয়া।
22 for you will heap coals of fire on his head, and the LORD will reward you.
২২কিয়নো সেইদৰে কৰিলে, তুমি তেওঁৰ মুৰত জ্বলি থকা আঙঠা বেলচাৰে আঁতৰাই দিয়া হ’ব, আৰু যিহোৱাই তোমাক পুৰস্কাৰ দিব।
23 The north wind produces rain; so a backbiting tongue brings an angry face.
২৩উত্তৰৰ বতাহে যেনেকৈ বৃষ্টি আনে, তেনেকৈ যিজনে গুপুত কথা কয় তেওঁৰ মুখমণ্ডল ঘৃণনীয়।
24 It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop than to share a house with a contentious woman.
২৪দ্বন্দুৰী মহিলাৰ সৈতে ঘৰত বাস কৰাতকৈ, ঘৰৰ ছালৰ এচুকত থকাই ভাল।
25 Like cold water to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.
২৫তৃষ্ণাতুৰ লোকৰ বাবে চেঁচা পানী যেনে, দূৰ দেশৰ পৰা অহা মঙ্গল সম্বাদো তেনে।
26 Like a muddied spring and a polluted well, so is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.
২৬ঘোলা পানীৰ নিজৰা, বা নষ্ট হৈ যোৱা ভুমুক যেনে, দুষ্ট লোকৰ সন্মুখত ভাল মানুহো থৰক-বৰক হোৱাও তেনে।
27 It is not good to eat much honey, nor is it honourable to seek one’s own honour.
২৭অধিককৈ মৌ খোৱা ভাল নহয়, সেয়া সন্মানৰ ওপৰি সন্মান বিচৰা দৰে হয়।
28 Like a city that is broken down and without walls is a man whose spirit is without restraint.
২৮যি জনে নিজৰ মনক দমন নকৰে, তেওঁ গড় ভগা বা গড় নথকা নগৰৰ দৰে।
