2 Chronicles 23

1 In the seventh year, Jehoiada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds—Azariah the son of Jeroham, Ishmael the son of Jehohanan, Azariah the son of Obed, Maaseiah the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat the son of Zichri—into a covenant with him.

[約阿士登極]第七年，約雅達自告奮勇，將眾百夫長：耶洛罕的兒子阿匝黎雅，約哈南的兒子依市瑪耳，敖貝得的兒子阿匝黎雅，阿達雅的兒子瑪阿色雅和齊革黎的兒子厄里沙法特召來，與他們立約。

2 They went around in Judah and gathered the Levites out of all the cities of Judah, and the heads of fathers’ households of Israel, and they came to Jerusalem.

他們走遍了猶大，召集猶大各城的肋未人，和以色列各族長一起來到耶路撒冷。

3 All the assembly made a covenant with the king in God’s house. Jehoiada said to them, “Behold, the king’s son must reign, as the LORD has spoken concerning the sons of David.

全會眾在天主殿內與君王立了約。約雅達對他們說：「這就是太子。按照上主論及達味的子孫所說的話，他必須作王!

4 This is the thing that you must do: a third part of you, who come in on the Sabbath, of the priests and of the Levites, shall be gatekeepers of the thresholds.

你們要這樣行：你們中間逢安息日來值班的司祭和肋未人，三分之一應把守各門，

5 A third part shall be at the king’s house; and a third part at the gate of the foundation. All the people will be in the courts of the LORD’s house.

三分之一應把守王宮，三分之一應把守馬門；所有的百姓都應在上主殿宇的庭院裏，

6 But let no one come into the LORD’s house except the priests and those who minister of the Levites. They shall come in, for they are holy, but all the people shall follow the LORD’s instructions.

除司祭和供職的肋未人外，任何人不得進入上主的殿，唯有他們可以進，因為他們是聖潔的；所有的百姓必須遵守上主的命令。

7 The Levites shall surround the king, every man with his weapons in his hand. Whoever comes into the house, let him be slain. Be with the king when he comes in and when he goes out.”

肋未人手裏各拿著武器，環繞君王；凡擅自進殿的，該將他殺死。君王出入時，你們要緊隨不離。」

8 So the Levites and all Judah did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded. They each took his men, those who were to come in on the Sabbath, with those who were to go out on the Sabbath, for Jehoiada the priest didn’t dismiss the shift.

肋未人和猶大民眾，都按照大司祭約雅達所吩咐的一切遵行了，各自帶領在安息日值班的，和安息日下班的人，因為大司祭約雅達不准下班。

9 Jehoiada the priest delivered to the captains of hundreds the spears, bucklers, and shields that had been king David’s, which were in God’s house.

大司祭約雅達便將天主殿內，屬達味王的刀槍和大小盾牌，交給了眾百夫長，

10 He set all the people, every man with his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the house to the left side of the house, near the altar and the house, around the king.

指令民眾各持武器，由殿南邊直到殿北邊，面對祭壇和聖殿，環立在君王四周。

11 Then they brought out the king’s son, put the crown on him, gave him the covenant, and made him king. Jehoiada and his sons anointed him, and they said, “Long live the king!”

然後引出太子來，給他加冕，再將約書交給他，立他為王；約雅達和他的兒子們給他傅了油，眾人遂喊說：「君王萬歲! 」[阿塔里雅被殺]

12 When Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people into the LORD’s house.

阿塔里雅聽見百姓奔走歌頌君王的歡呼聲，就進上主的殿，到了百姓前，

13 Then she looked, and behold, the king stood by his pillar at the entrance, with the captains and the trumpeters by the king. All the people of the land rejoiced and blew trumpets. The singers also played musical instruments, and led the singing of praise. Then Athaliah tore her clothes, and said, “Treason! treason!”

看見君王立在殿門旁的高台上，百夫長和吹號的侍立在君王左右，所有當地人民歡躍吹號，歌詠團用各種樂器領導人歌唱頌揚；阿塔里雅就撕裂了自己的衣服說：「反了! 反了! 」

14 Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds who were set over the army, and said to them, “Bring her out between the ranks; and whoever follows her, let him be slain with the sword.” For the priest said, “Don’t kill her in the LORD’s house.”

大司祭約雅達吩咐領軍隊的眾百夫長，說：「將她由行列中趕出去，凡隨從她的人，都用刀殺死。」原來大司祭曾吩咐說：不可在上主的殿內殺她。

15 So they made way for her. She went to the entrance of the horse gate to the king’s house; and they killed her there.

於是人捉住她，在她走到王宮馬門口時，在那裏將她殺了。[宗教改革]

16 Jehoiada made a covenant between himself, all the people, and the king, that they should be the LORD’s people.

此後，約雅達使人民和君王與上主立約，當作上主的人民。

17 All the people went to the house of Baal, broke it down, broke his altars and his images in pieces, and killed Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars.

然後全體人民到了巴耳廟，將廟拆毀，將祭壇和偶像打碎，又在祭壇前斬了巴耳的司祭瑪堂。

18 Jehoiada appointed the officers of the LORD’s house under the hand of the Levitical priests, whom David had distributed in the LORD’s house, to offer the burnt offerings of the LORD, as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, as David had ordered.

約雅達將看守市主殿宇的職責，交在司祭和肋未人手內，因為他們原是達味早已分派在上主殿內，照梅瑟法律所載，向上主獻全燔祭，按照達味的定例，歡躍歌唱的。

19 He set the gatekeepers at the gates of the LORD’s house, that no one who was unclean in anything should enter in.

又指派門丁看守上主殿宇的各門，無論在任何事上，凡是不潔淨的，都不准進。

20 He took the captains of hundreds, the nobles, the governors of the people, and all the people of the land, and brought the king down from the LORD’s house. They came through the upper gate to the king’s house, and set the king on the throne of the kingdom.

最後率領百夫長、貴族、民間領袖和當地人民，接君王從上主的殿下來，經上門進入王宮，請君王坐在王位上。

21 So all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet. They had slain Athaliah with the sword.

於是全國人民喜慶，京城也平靜了；至於阿塔里雅，已為刀所殺。
