< Mark 1 >

1 The beginning of the Good News of Jesus Christ the Son of God.
The beginning of the Good News of Yeshua Meshikha, the Son of God.
2 As it is written in Isaiah the Prophet, "See, I am sending My messenger before Thee, Who will prepare Thy way";
As it is written in Eshaya the prophet, "Look, I send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.
3 "The voice of one crying aloud: 'In the Desert prepare a road for the Lord: Make His highways straight.'"
The voice of one crying in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way of the Lord. Make his roads straight.'"
4 So John the Baptizer came, and was in the Desert proclaiming a baptism of the penitent for forgiveness of sins.
Yukhanan came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for forgiveness of sins.
5 There went out to him people of all classes from Judaea, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem of all ranks, and were baptized by him in the river Jordan, making open confession of their sins.
And all the country of Yehuda went out to him and all those from Urishlim, and they were baptized by him in the Yurdinan river, confessing their sins.
6 As for John, his garment was of camel's hair, and he wore a loincloth of leather; and his food was locusts and wild honey.
And Yukhanan was clothed with camel's hair and a leather belt around his waist. He ate locusts and wild honey.
7 His announcement was, "There is One coming after me mightier than I--One whose sandal-strap I am unworthy to stoop down and unfasten.
And he preached, saying, "After me comes he who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and loosen.
8 I have baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."
I baptized you in water, but he will baptize you in the Rukha d'Qudsha."
9 At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan;
And it happened in those days, that Yeshua came from Natsrath of Galila, and was baptized by Yukhanan in the Yurdinan.
10 and immediately on His coming up out of the water He saw an opening in the sky, and the Spirit like a dove coming down to Him;
And immediately coming up from the water, he saw the heavens parting, and the Rukha descending on him like a dove.
11 and a voice came from the sky, saying, "Thou art My Son dearly loved: in Thee is My delight."
And a voice came out of the sky, "You are my beloved Son, with you I am well pleased."
12 At once the Spirit impelled Him to go out into the Desert,
And immediately the Rukha drove him out into the wilderness.
13 where He remained for forty days, tempted by Satan; and He was among the wild beasts, but the angels waited upon Him.
And he was in the wilderness forty days tempted by Satana. He was with the wild animals; and the angels were serving him.
14 Then, after John had been thrown into prison, Jesus came into Galilee proclaiming God's Good News.
Now after Yukhanan was taken into custody, Yeshua came into Galila, proclaiming the Good News of God,
15 "The time has fully come," He said, "and the Kingdom of God is close at hand: repent, and believe this Good News.
and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is near. Repent, and believe in the Good News."
16 One day, passing along the shore of the Lake of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, Simon's brother, throwing their nets in the Lake; for they were fisherman.
And passing along by the lake of Galila, he saw Shimon and Andreus the brother of Shimon casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.
17 "Come and follow me," said Jesus, "and I will make you fishers for men."
And Yeshua said to them, "Come, follow me, and I will make you into fishers of people."
18 At once they left their nets and followed Him.
And immediately they left the nets, and followed him.
19 Going on a little further He saw James the son of Zabdi and his brother John: they also were in the boat mending the nets, and He immediately called them.
And going on a little further, he saw Yaquv the son of Zabedai, and Yukhanan, his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets.
20 They therefore left their father Zabdi in the boat with the hired men, and went and followed Him.
And immediately he called them, and they left their father, Zabedai, in the boat with the hired servants, and went after him.
21 So they came to Capernaum, and on the next Sabbath He went to the synagogue and began to teach.
And they went into Kepharnakhum, and immediately on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue and taught.
22 The people listened with amazement to His teaching--for there was authority about it: it was very different from that of the Scribes--
And they were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.
23 when all at once, there in their synagogue, a man under the power of a foul spirit screamed out:
And just then there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he shouted,
24 "What have you to do with us, Jesus the Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are--God's Holy One."
saying, "What do we have to do with you, Yeshua, Natsraya? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God."
25 But Jesus reprimanded him, saying, "Silence! come out of him."
And Yeshua rebuked him, saying, "Be quiet, and come out of him."
26 So the foul spirit, after throwing the man into convulsions, came out of him with a loud cry.
And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.
27 And all were amazed and awe-struck, so they began to ask one another, "What does this mean? Here is a new sort of teaching--and a tone of authority! And even to foul spirits he issues orders and they obey him!"
And they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, "What is this? A new teaching? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him."
28 And His fame spread at once everywhere in all that part of Galilee.
And at once the news of him went out everywhere into all the region of Galila and its surrounding area.
29 Then on leaving the synagogue they came at once, with James and John, to the house of Simon and Andrew.
And immediately, when they had come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Shimon and Andreus, with Yaquv and Yukhanan.
30 Now Simon's mother-in-law was ill in bed with a fever, and without delay they informed Him about her.
Now Shimon's mother-in-law was sick in bed with a fever, and immediately they told him about her.
31 So He went to her, and taking her hand He raised her to her feet: the fever left her, and she began to wait upon them.
And he came and took her by the hand, and raised her up. The fever left her, and she served them.
32 When it was evening, after sunset people came bringing Him all who were sick and the demoniacs;
At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all who were sick, and those who were possessed by demons.
33 and the whole town was assembled at the door.
And all the city was gathered together at the door.
34 Then He cured numbers of people who were ill with various diseases, and He drove out many demons; not allowing the demons to speak, because they knew who He was.
And he healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons. He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew him.
35 In the morning He rose early, while it was still quite dark, and leaving the house He went away to a solitary place and there prayed.
And early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there.
36 And Simon and the others searched everywhere for Him.
And Shimon and those who were with him followed after him;
37 When they found Him they said, "Every one is looking for you."
and they found him, and told him, "Everyone is looking for you."
38 "Let us go elsewhere, to the neighbouring country towns," He replied, "that I may proclaim my Message there also; because for that purpose I came from God."
And he said to them, "Let us go somewhere else into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because I came out for this reason."
39 And He went through all Galilee, preaching in the synagogues and expelling the demons.
And he went into their synagogues throughout all Galila, preaching and casting out demons.
40 One day there came a leper to Jesus entreating Him, and pleading on his knees. "If you are willing," he said, "you are able to cleanse me."
And a leper came to him, begging him, and knelt down and said to him, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean."
41 Moved with pity Jesus reached out His hand and touched him. "I am willing," He said; "be cleansed."
And being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, "I am willing. Be cleansed."
42 The leprosy at once left him, and he was cleansed.
And immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was made clean.
43 Jesus at once sent him away, strictly charging him,
And he strictly warned him, and immediately sent him out,
44 and saying, "Be careful not to tell any one, but go and show yourself to the Priest, and for your purification present the offerings that Moses appointed as evidence for them."
and said to him, "See you say nothing to anyone, but go show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing the things which Mushe commanded, for a testimony to them."
45 But the man, when he went out, began to tell every one and to publish the matter abroad, so that it was no longer possible for Jesus to go openly into any town; but He had to remain outside in unfrequented places, where people came to Him from all parts.
But he went out, and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread about the matter, so that Yeshua could no more openly enter into a city, but was outside in desert places: and they came to him from everywhere.
