Psalms 106
1 Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks to the LORD; for [he is] good: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.
Hallelujah! Bekennet Jehovah, denn Er ist gut, denn Seine Barmherzigkeit ist in Ewigkeit.
2 Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? [who] can show forth all his praise?
Wer kann aussagen die Machttaten Jehovahs, kann hören lassen all Sein Lob?
3 Blessed [are] they that keep judgment, [and] he that doeth righteousness at all times.
Selig, die das Recht halten und Gerechtigkeit tun alle Zeit!
4 Remember me, O LORD, with the favor [that thou bearest to] thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;
Gedenke mein, Jehovah, mit dem Wohlgefallen für Dein Volk, und suche mich heim mit Deinem Heil.
5 That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thy inheritance.
Daß ich sehe das Gute Deiner Auserwählten, daß ich fröhlich sei in der Fröhlichkeit Deiner Völkerschaften, mich rühme mit Deinem Erbe.
6 We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.
Wir sündigten mit unseren Vätern, wir haben Missetat, Ungerechtigkeit begangen.
7 Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked [him] at the sea, [even] at the Red sea.
Unsere Väter in Ägypten begriffen Deine Wunder nicht, gedachten nicht Deiner vielen Barmherzigkeit, und sie widersetzten sich am Meer, am Meere des Schilfs.
8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.
Er aber rettete sie um Seines Namens willen, um Seine Macht kund zu tun.
9 He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.
Und Er bedrohte das Schilfmeer, und es trocknete aus, und Er ließ sie durch Abgründe gehen wie durch die Wüste.
10 And he saved them from the hand of him that hated [them], and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
Und Er rettete sie aus des Hassers Hand, und aus des Feindes Hand erlöste Er sie.
11 And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.
Und Wasser bedeckten ihre Dränger, nicht einer blieb von ihnen übrig.
12 Then they believed his words; they sang his praise.
Und sie glaubten an Seine Worte, sie sangen Sein Lob.
13 They soon forgot his works; they waited not for his counsel:
Eilig hatten Seine Werke sie vergessen, warteten nicht auf Seinen Ratschluß.
14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.
Und es gelüstete sie in der Wüste ein Gelüste, und sie versuchten Gott im Wüstenland.
15 And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.
Und Er gab ihnen ihr Erbetenes, sandte aber Magerkeit in ihre Seele.
16 They envied Moses also in the camp, [and] Aaron the saint of the LORD.
Und sie eiferten wider Mose in dem Lager, wider Aharon, den Heiligen Jehovahs.
17 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.
Die Erde tat sich auf und verschlang Dathan und überdeckte Abirams Gemeinde.
18 And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.
Und es brannte Feuer in ihrer Gemeinde, und die Flamme entflammte die Ungerechten.
19 They made a calf in Horeb, and worshiped the molten image.
Am Choreb machten sie ein Kalb und beteten das Gußbild an,
20 Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.
Und sie vertauschten ihre Herrlichkeit mit dem Vorbilde eines Ochsen, der das Kraut frißt.
21 They forgot God their savior, who had done great things in Egypt;
Sie vergaßen des Gottes, Der sie gerettet, Der in Ägypten Großes tat.
22 Wondrous works in the land of Ham, [and] terrible things by the Red sea.
Wunder im Lande Cham, Furchtbares an dem Meere des Schilfs.
23 Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy [them].
Und Er sagte, Er wollte sie vernichten, wenn Mose, Sein Auserwählter, nicht vor Ihm vor den Riß gestanden wäre, um Seinen Grimm vom Verderben zurückzuwenden.
24 Yes, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:
Und sie verschmähten das begehrte Land, sie glaubten Seinem Worte nicht.
25 But murmured in their tents, [and] hearkened not to the voice of the LORD.
Und sie beschwerten sich in ihren Zelten, und hörten nicht auf Jehovahs Stimme.
26 Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:
Und Er hob Seine Hand auf wider sie, sie zu fällen in der Wüste.
27 To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.
Und ihren Samen unter die Völkerschaften fallen zu lassen, und sie in die Länder zu zersprengen.
28 They joined themselves also to Baal-peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.
Und sie klammerten sich an Baal-Peor und aßen die Opfer der Toten.
29 Thus they provoked [him] to anger with their inventions: and the plague broke in upon them.
Und reizten Ihn durch ihr Tun, daß eine Plage ausbrach unter ihnen.
30 Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and [so] the plague was stayed.
Und Phinechas stand da und schlichtete, und der Plage ward Einhalt getan.
31 And that was counted to him for righteousness to all generations for ever.
Und ihm ward es zur Gerechtigkeit gerechnet ins Geschlecht und Geschlecht in Ewigkeit.
32 They angered [him] also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:
Und sie reizten zur Entrüstung am Wasser Meribah, und es war übel mit Mose um ihretwillen.
33 Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spoke unadvisedly with his lips.
Denn sie erbitterten den Geist ihm, und es entfuhr seinen Lippen.
34 They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:
Sie vernichteten die Völker nicht, wie Jehovah zu ihnen gesprochen hatte,
35 But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.
Und vermengten sich mit den Völkerschaften und lernten ihr Tun;
36 And they served their idols: which were a snare to them.
Und sie dienten ihren Götzenbildern und sie wurden ihnen zum Fallstrick.
37 Yes, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons,
Und sie opferten den Dämonen ihre Söhne und Töchter.
38 And shed innocent blood, [even] the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.
Und sie vergossen unschuldig Blut, das Blut ihrer Söhne und ihrer Töchter, die sie den Götzenbildern Kanaans opferten, und das Land ward durch Blut entheiligt.
39 Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went astray with their own inventions.
Und sie verunreinigten sich durch ihre Werke, und buhlten durch ihr Tun.
40 Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.
Und es entbrannte Jehovahs Zorn wider Sein Volk, und Sein Erbe ward Ihm zum Greuel.
41 And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.
Und Er gab sie in der Völkerschaften Hand, und ihre Hasser herrschten über sie.
42 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.
Und ihre Feinde unterdrückten sie, und sie wurden unter ihre Hand gebeugt.
43 Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked [him] with their counsel; and were brought low for their iniquity.
Viel Male errettete Er sie, doch sie widersetzten sich in ihrem Ratschlusse, und schwanden dahin in ihrer Missetat.
44 Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:
Und Er sah ihre Drangsal, wie Er ihren Angstschrei hörte.
45 And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.
Und Er gedachte ihnen an Seinen Bund, und es gereute Ihn nach Seiner vielen Barmherzigkeit.
46 He made them also to be pitied by all those that carried them captives.
Und Er ließ sie Erbarmen finden vor allen, die sie gefangen führten.
47 Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks to thy holy name, [and] to triumph in thy praise.
Rette uns, Jehovah, unser Gott, und bringe uns zusammen aus den Völkerschaften, auf daß wir bekennen den Namen Deiner Heiligkeit und preisen Dein Lob.
48 Blessed [be] the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.
Gesegnet sei Jehovah, der Gott Israels, von Ewigkeit und zu Ewigkeit! und alles Volk spreche: Amen. Hallelujah!
