Luke 17
1 Then he said to the disciples, It is impossible but that causes of sin will come: but woe [to him] by whom they come!
彼は弟子たちに言った，「つまずきのもとがやって来ないということはあり得ないが，自分を通してそれらがやって来るその人は災いだ！
2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should cause one of these little ones to fall into sin.
これら小さな者たちの一人をつまずかせるよりは，首に臼石をかけられて海に投げ込まれる方が，その者にとっては良いだろう。
3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother shall trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he shall repent forgive him.
注意していなさい。あなたの兄弟があなたに対して罪を犯したなら，彼をとがめなさい。悔い改めたなら，許しなさい。
4 And if he shall trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day shall turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
彼が一日に七回あなたに対して罪を犯し，七回戻って来て，『悔い改めます』と言ったとしても，彼を許さなければならない」 。
5 And the apostles said to the Lord, Increase our faith.
使徒たちが主に言った，「わたしたちの信仰を増やしてください」。
6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard-seed, ye might say to this sycamine-tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it would obey you.
主は言った，「もしあなた方に一粒のからしの種ほどの信仰があるなら，このイチジクグワの木に，『根こそぎにされて，海に植えられよ』と言えば，それはあなた方に従うだろう。
7 But which of you having a servant plowing, or feeding cattle, will say to him immediately, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to eat?
ところで，あなた方のうちのだれが，畑を耕すか羊の番をする召使いがいるとして，彼が畑から帰って来た時に，『すぐに来て食卓に着きなさい』と言うだろうか。
8 And will not rather say to him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drank; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
むしろ，『わたしの夕食を整えなさい。着替えて，わたしが食べたり飲んだりしている間，わたしの給仕をしなさい。その後で，食べたり飲んだりするがよい』と言うのではないか。
9 Doth he thank that servant, because he did the things that were commanded him? I suppose not.
その召使いが命じられたことを行なったからといって，主人は彼に感謝するだろうか。そうは思えない。
10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all the things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which it was our duty to do.
同じように，あなた方も，自分に命じられたことすべてを行なった時は，『わたしたちは取るに足りない召使いです。自分の義務を行なったまでです』と言いなさい」 。
11 And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
彼がエルサレムへの途上にあり，サマリアとガリラヤの境界を通り過ぎていたときのことである。
12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, who stood at a distance.
ある村に入った時，十人のらい病人たちが彼に出会ったが，彼らは遠くに立っていた。
13 And they lifted up [their] voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
彼らは声を上げて言った，「師イエスよ，わたしたちをあわれんでください！」
14 And when he saw [them], he said to them, Go, show yourselves to the priests. And it came to pass, that as they were going, they were cleansed.
彼はそれを見ると，彼らに言った，「行って，自分を祭司たちに見せなさい」 。出かけて行く途中で，彼らは清められた。
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
彼らのうちの一人は，自分がいやされたのを見て，大声で神に栄光をささげながら戻って来た。
16 And fell down on [his] face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
イエスの足もとにひれ伏して，彼に感謝をささげた。しかも，それはサマリア人であった。
17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where [are] the nine?
イエスは答えた，「十人が清められたのではなかったか。それなら，九人はどこにいるのか。
18 There are not found returning to give glory to God, save this stranger.
神に栄光をささげるために戻って来たのは，この他国人のほかには見いだせないのか」 。
19 And he said to him, Arise, depart: thy faith hath made thee whole.
それからイエスは彼に言った，「立ち上がって，行きなさい。あなたの信仰があなたをいやした」 。
20 And when he was asked by the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation.
神の王国はいつ来るのかとファリサイ人たちに尋ねられて，彼は彼らに言った，「神の王国は人目につくようにして来ることはなく，
21 Neither will they say, Lo here! or lo there! for behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
人々が，『見よ，ここだ！』とか，『見よ，あそこだ！』などと言うこともない。というのは，見よ，神の王国はあなた方の中にあるのだ」 。
22 And he said to his disciples, The days will come, when ye will desire to see one of the days of the son of man, and ye shall not see [it].
彼は弟子たちに言った，「あなた方が人の子の日々を一日でも見たいと望みながら，それを見ることのできない日々が来るだろう。
23 And they will say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after [them], nor follow them.
人々はあなた方に，『見よ，ここだ！』とか，『見よ，あそこだ！』などと言うだろう。出かけて行って，彼らの後に従ってはいけない。
24 For as the lightning that lighteneth from the one [part] under heaven, shineth to the other [part] under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.
いなずまが天の下の一方の端からひらめき出て，天の下の他方の端にまで輝きわたるように，人の子も自分の日にはそのようだからだ。
25 But first he must suffer many things, and be rejected by this generation.
だが，彼はまず多くの苦しみを受け，この世代から退けられなければならない。
26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
ノアの日々に起きたとおり，人の子の日々においてもそのようになるだろう。
27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark; and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
ノアが箱船に入るその日まで，人々は食べたり飲んだり，めとったり嫁いだりしていたが，洪水が来て，彼らすべてを滅ぼしてしまった。
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;
同じように，ロトの日々に起きたとおりになるだろう。人々は食べたり飲んだり，買ったり売ったり，植えたり建てたりしていたが，
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed [them] all:
ロトがソドムから出て行ったその日に，火と硫黄が天から降ってきて，彼らすべてを滅ぼしてしまった。
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
人の子が現わされる日にも，同じようになるだろう。
31 In that day, he who shall be upon the house-top, and his furniture in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
その日には，屋上にいる者は，家の中に自分の家財があっても，それらを取り出そうとして降りてはいけない。畑にいる者も同じように，後ろを振り向いてはいけない。
32 Remember Lot's wife.
ロトの妻のことを思い出しなさい！
33 Whoever shall seek to save his life, shall lose it; and whoever shall lose his life, shall preserve it.
自分の命を救おうと努める者はそれを失い，自分の命を失う者はそれを保つのだ。
34 I tell you, in that night there will be two [men] in one bed; the one will be taken, and the other will be left.
あなた方に告げるが，その夜，二人の人が一つの寝床にいるだろう。一方は取り去られ，他方は残される。
35 Two [women] will be grinding together; the one will be taken, and the other left.
二人の女が粉をひいているだろう。一人は取り去られ，一人は残される」 。
36 Two [men] will be in the field; the one will be taken, and the other left.
37 And they answered and said to him, Where Lord? And he said to them, Wherever the body [is], thither will the eagles be collected.
彼らは答えて彼に言った，「主よ，どこでですか」。 彼は彼らに言った，「どこでも死体のあるところ，そこにハゲワシたちも集まって来るだろう」 。
