Luke 17
1 Then he said to the disciples, It is impossible but that causes of sin will come: but woe [to him] by whom they come!
Jésus dit à ses disciples: Il est impossible qu’il n’arrive des scandales; mais malheur à celui par qui ils arrivent.
2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should cause one of these little ones to fall into sin.
Il vaudrait mieux pour lui qu’on lui mît au cou une meule de moulin, et qu’on le jetât dans la mer, que s’il scandalisait un de ces petits.
3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother shall trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he shall repent forgive him.
Prenez garde à vous. Si ton frère a péché contre toi, reprends-le; et s’il se repent, pardonne-lui.
4 And if he shall trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day shall turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
S’il pèche contre toi sept fois dans un jour, et que sept fois dans un jour il revienne à toi, en disant: Je me repens, pardonne-lui.
5 And the apostles said to the Lord, Increase our faith.
Alors les Apôtres dirent au Seigneur: Augmentez-nous la foi.
6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard-seed, ye might say to this sycamine-tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it would obey you.
Et le Seigneur leur dit: Si vous avez la foi comme un grain de sénevé, vous direz à ce mûrier: Déracine-toi, et plante-toi dans la mer; et il vous obéira.
7 But which of you having a servant plowing, or feeding cattle, will say to him immediately, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to eat?
Qui de vous, ayant un serviteur qui laboure ou fait paître les troupeaux, lui dit, lorsqu’il revient des champs: Approche-toi vite, mets-toi à table?
8 And will not rather say to him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drank; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
Ne lui dira-t-il pas: Prépare-moi à souper, et ceins-toi, et sers-moi jusqu’à ce que j’aie mangé et bu; après cela, tu mangeras et tu boiras?
9 Doth he thank that servant, because he did the things that were commanded him? I suppose not.
A-t-il de la reconnaissance pour ce serviteur, parce qu’il a fait ce qu’il lui avait ordonné?
10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all the things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which it was our duty to do.
Je ne le pense pas. Et vous de même, quand vous aurez fait tout ce qui vous est commandé, dites: Nous sommes des serviteurs inutiles; nous avons fait ce que nous devions faire.
11 And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
Et il arriva, tandis qu’il allait à Jérusalem, qu’il passa par les confins de la Samarie et de la Galilée.
12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, who stood at a distance.
Et comme il entrait dans un village, dix lépreux vinrent au-devant de lui; et, se tenant éloignés,
13 And they lifted up [their] voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
ils élevèrent la voix, en disant: Jésus, Maître, ayez pitié de nous.
14 And when he saw [them], he said to them, Go, show yourselves to the priests. And it came to pass, that as they were going, they were cleansed.
Lorsqu’il les eut vus, il dit: Allez, montrez-vous aux prêtres. Et comme ils y allaient, ils furent guéris.
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
Or l’un d’eux, voyant qu’il était guéri, revint, glorifiant Dieu à haute voix.
16 And fell down on [his] face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
Et il se jeta le visage contre terre aux pieds de Jésus, lui rendant grâces, et celui-là était Samaritain.
17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where [are] the nine?
Alors Jésus, prenant la parole, dit: Est-ce que les dix n’ont pas été guéris? Où sont donc les neuf autres?
18 There are not found returning to give glory to God, save this stranger.
Il ne s’en est pas trouvé qui soit revenu, et qui ait rendu gloire à Dieu sinon cet étranger.
19 And he said to him, Arise, depart: thy faith hath made thee whole.
Et il lui dit: Lève-toi, va; ta foi t’a sauvé.
20 And when he was asked by the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation.
Les pharisiens lui demandèrent: Quand viendra le royaume de Dieu? Il leur répondit: Le royaume de Dieu ne vient pas d’une manière apparente;
21 Neither will they say, Lo here! or lo there! for behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
et on ne dira pas: Il est ici, ou: Il est là. Car voici, le royaume de Dieu est au dedans de vous.
22 And he said to his disciples, The days will come, when ye will desire to see one of the days of the son of man, and ye shall not see [it].
Puis il dit à ses disciples: Des jours viendront où vous désirerez voir un jour du Fils de l’homme, et vous ne le verrez pas.
23 And they will say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after [them], nor follow them.
Et l’on vous dira: Il est ici, il est là. Mais n’y allez pas, et ne les suivez pas.
24 For as the lightning that lighteneth from the one [part] under heaven, shineth to the other [part] under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.
Car, comme l’éclair resplendit et brille d’une extrémité du ciel jusqu’à l’autre, ainsi sera le Fils de l’homme en son jour.
25 But first he must suffer many things, and be rejected by this generation.
Mais il faut auparavant qu’il souffre beaucoup, et qu’il soit rejeté par cette génération.
26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
Et comme il est arrivé aux jours de Noé, ainsi en sera-t-il aux jours du Fils de l’homme.
27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark; and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
Les hommes mangeaient et buvaient, se mariaient et donnaient leurs filles en mariage, jusqu’au jour où Noé entra dans l’arche; et alors le déluge vint, et les fit tous périr.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;
Et comme il est arrivé encore aux jours de Lot: les hommes mangeaient et buvaient, achetaient et vendaient, plantaient et bâtissaient;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed [them] all:
mais le jour où Lot sortit de Sodome, il tomba du ciel une pluie de feu et de soufre, qui les fit tous périr.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
Il en sera de même le jour où le Fils de l’homme sera révélé.
31 In that day, he who shall be upon the house-top, and his furniture in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
A cette heure-là, que celui qui sera sur le toit, et qui aura ses effets dans la maison, ne descende pas pour les prendre; et que celui qui sera dans les champs ne retourne pas non plus en arrière.
32 Remember Lot's wife.
Souvenez-vous de la femme de Lot.
33 Whoever shall seek to save his life, shall lose it; and whoever shall lose his life, shall preserve it.
Quiconque cherchera à sauver sa vie, la perdra; et quiconque la perdra, la sauvera.
34 I tell you, in that night there will be two [men] in one bed; the one will be taken, and the other will be left.
Je vous le dis, en cette nuit-là, deux seront dans le même lit: l’un sera pris, et l’autre laissé.
35 Two [women] will be grinding together; the one will be taken, and the other left.
Deux femmes moudront ensemble: l’une sera prise, et l’autre laissée. Deux hommes seront dans un champ: l’un sera pris, et l’autre laissé.
36 Two [men] will be in the field; the one will be taken, and the other left.
Prenant la parole, ils lui dirent: Où sera-ce, Seigneur?
37 And they answered and said to him, Where Lord? And he said to them, Wherever the body [is], thither will the eagles be collected.
Il leur répondit: Partout où sera le corps, là aussi se rassembleront les aigles.
