Ezekiel 38
1 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ、
2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him.
「人の子よ、メセクとトバルの大君であるマゴグの地のゴグに、あなたの顔を向け、これに対して預言して、
3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I [am] against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
言え。主なる神はこう言われる、メセクとトバルの大君であるゴグよ、見よ、わたしはあなたの敵となる。
4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thy army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts [of armor], [even] a great company [with] bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:
わたしはあなたを引きもどし、あなたのあごにかぎをかけて、あなたと、あなたのすべての軍勢と、馬と、騎兵とを引き出す。彼らはみな武具をつけ、大盾、小盾を持ち、すべてつるぎをとる者で大軍である。
5 Persia, Cush, and Phut with them; all of them with shield and helmet:
ペルシャ、エチオピヤ、プテは彼らと共におり、みな盾とかぶとを持つ。
6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: [and] many people with thee.
ゴメルとそのすべての軍隊、北の果のベテ・トガルマと、そのすべての軍隊など、多くの民もあなたと共におる。
7 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled to thee, and be thou a guard to them.
あなたは備えをなせ。あなたとあなたの所に集まった軍隊は、みな備えをなせ。そしてあなたは彼らの保護者となれ。
8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land [that is] brought back from the sword, [and is] gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall all dwell in safety.
多くの日の後、あなたは集められ、終りの年にあなたは戦いから回復された地、すなわち多くの民の中から、人々が集められた地に向かい、久しく荒れすたれたイスラエルの山々に向かって進む。その人々は国々から導き出されて、みな安らかに住んでいる。
9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.
あなたはそのすべての軍隊および多くの民を率いて上り、暴風のように進み、雲のように地をおおう。
10 Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, [that] at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:
主なる神はこう言われる、その日に、あなたの心に思いが起り、悪い計りごとを企てて、
11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
言う、『わたしは無防備の村々の地に上り、穏やかにして安らかに住む民、すべて石がきもなく、貫の木も門もない地に住む者どもを攻めよう』と。
12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thy hand upon the desolate places [that are now] inhabited, and upon the people [that are] gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.
そしてあなたは物を奪い、物をかすめ、いま人の住むようになっている荒れ跡を攻め、また国々から集まってきて、地の中央に住み、家畜と貨財とを持つ民を攻めようとする。
13 Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all its young lions, shall say to thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?
シバ、デダン、タルシシの商人、およびそのもろもろの村々はあなたに言う、『あなたは物を奪うために来たのか。物をかすめるために軍隊を集めたのか。あなたは金銀を持ち去り、家畜と貨財とを取りあげ、大いに物を奪おうとするのか』と。
14 Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know [it]?
それゆえ、人の子よ、ゴグに預言して言え。主なる神はこう言われる、わが民イスラエルの安らかに住むその日に、あなたは立ちあがり、
15 And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:
北の果のあなたの所から来る。多くの民はあなたと共におり、みな馬に乗り、その軍隊は大きく、その兵士は強い。
16 And thou shalt come against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.
あなたはわが民イスラエルに攻めのぼり、雲のように地をおおう。ゴグよ、終りの日にわたしはあなたを、わが国に攻めきたらせ、あなたをとおして、わたしの聖なることを諸国民の目の前にあらわして、彼らにわたしを知らせる。
17 Thus saith the Lord GOD; [Art] thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days [many] years, that I would bring thee against them?
主なる神はこう言われる、わたしが昔、わがしもべイスラエルの預言者たちによって語ったのは、あなたのことではないか。すなわち彼らは、そのころ年久しく預言して、わたしはあなたを送って、彼らを攻めさせると言ったではないか。
18 And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord God, [that] my fury shall come up in my face.
しかし主なる神は言われる、その日、すなわちゴグがイスラエルの地に攻め入る日に、わが怒りは現れる。
19 For in my jealousy [and] in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel.
わたしは、わがねたみと、燃えたつ怒りとをもって言う。その日には必ずイスラエルの地に、大いなる震動があり、
20 So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping animals that creep upon the earth, and all the men that [are] upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be overturned, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
海の魚、空の鳥、野の獣、すべての地に這うもの、地のおもてにあるすべての人は、わが前に打ち震える。また山々はくずれ、がけは落ち、すべての石がきは地に倒れる。
21 And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man's sword shall be against his brother.
主なる神は言われる、わたしはゴグに対し、すべての恐れを呼びよせる。すべての人のつるぎは、その兄弟に向けられる。
22 And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that [are] with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
わたしは疫病と流血とをもって彼をさばく。わたしはみなぎる雨と、ひょうと、火と、硫黄とを、彼とその軍隊および彼と共におる多くの民の上に降らせる。
23 Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I [am] the LORD.
そしてわたしはわたしの大いなることと、わたしの聖なることとを、多くの国民の目に示す。そして彼らはわたしが主であることを悟る。
