1 Samuel 7
1 And the men of Kirjath-jearim came, and brought up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab on the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD.
Und die Männer von Kirjath-Jearim kamen und holten die Lade Jehovahs hinauf und brachten sie hinein zum Haus Abinadabs in Gibeah und heiligten Eleasar, dessen Sohn, daß er die Lade Jehovahs hütete.
2 And it came to pass, while the ark abode in Kirjath-jearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD.
Und es geschah von dem Tage an, da die Lade in Kirjath-Jearim blieb, wurden die Tage viel, und es waren zwanzig Jahre; und das ganze Haus Israel klagte hinter Jehovah her.
3 And Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return to the LORD with all your hearts, [then] put away the strange gods, and Ashtaroth, from among you, and prepare your hearts to the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines.
Und Samuel sprach zu dem ganzen Hause Israel und sagte: Wenn ihr von ganzem Herzen zu Jehovah zurückkehrt, so nehmt die Götter der Fremde und die Aschtharoth aus eurer Mitte weg und richtet euer Herz auf Jehovah und dienet Ihm allein, und Er wird euch aus der Hand der Philister erretten.
4 Then the children of Israel put away Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.
Und die Söhne Israels nahmen die Baalim und die Aschtharoth weg und dienten allein dem Jehovah.
5 And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you to the LORD.
Und Samuel sprach: Bringt zusammen ganz Israel nach Mizpah, daß ich für euch zu Jehovah bete.
6 And they assembled at Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured [it] out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and there said, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpeh.
Und sie kamen zusammen nach Mizpah und schöpften Wasser und gossen es aus vor Jehovah, und fasteten an selbigem Tage und sprachen allda: Wir haben gesündigt gegen Jehovah. Und Samuel richtete die Söhne Israels in Mizpah.
7 And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were assembled at Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard [it], they were afraid of the Philistines.
Und die Philister hörten, daß die Söhne Israels in Mizpah zusammengekommen, und die Fürsten der Philister zogen hinauf wider Israel. Und die Söhne Israels hörten es und fürchteten sich vor den Philistern.
8 And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry to the LORD our God for us, that he will save us from the hand of the Philistines.
Und die Söhne Israels sprachen zu Samuel: Schweig nicht still für uns, sondern schreie zu Jehovah, unserem Gott, daß Er uns aus der Hand der Philister rette.
9 And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered [it for] a burnt-offering wholly to the LORD: and Samuel cried to the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him.
Und Samuel nahm ein Milchlämmlein und opferte es auf als ganzes Brandopfer dem Jehovah, und Samuel schrie zu Jehovah für Israel, und Jehovah antwortete ihm.
10 And as Samuel was offering the burnt-offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel.
Und als Samuel das Brandopfer aufopferte, traten die Philister herzu zum Streite wider Israel, und Jehovah donnerte mit großer Stimme an selbigem Tage über die Philister und brachte Verwirrung unter sie, so daß sie vor Israel geschlagen wurden.
11 And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and smote them, until [they came] under Beth-car.
Und die Männer Israels zogen von Mizpah aus und setzten den Philistern nach und schlugen sie bis unter Beth-Kar.
12 Then Samuel took a stone, and set [it] between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Eben-ezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.
Und Samuel nahm einen Stein und setzte ihn zwischen Mizpah und Schen und nannte seinen Namen Eben-Haeser, und sprach: Bis hierher ist uns Jehovah beigestanden.
13 So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the borders of Israel: and the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
Und die Philister wurden gebeugt und kamen nicht mehr in die Grenze von Israel, und die Hand Jehovahs war wider die Philister alle Tage Samuels.
14 And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even to Gath; and the borders of it did Israel deliver from the hands of the Philistines: and there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
Und die Städte, welche die Philister von Israel genommen hatten, kamen zurück an Israel von Ekron bis Gath, und ihre Grenze errettete Israel aus der Hand der Philister. Und es war Friede zwischen Israel und dem Amoriter.
15 And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.
Und Samuel richtete Israel alle Tage seines Lebens;
16 And he went from year to year in circuit to Beth-el, and Gilgal, and Mizpeh, and judged Israel in all those places.
Und er ging von Jahr zu Jahr und zog umher nach Bethel und Gilgal und Mizpah und richtete Israel an allen diesen Orten.
17 And his return [was] to Ramah; for there [was] his house; and there he judged Israel; and there he built an altar to the LORD.
Und kehrte dann nach Ramah zurück; denn dort war sein Haus; und daselbst richtete er Israel und baute daselbst Jehovah einen Altar.
