< Titus 1 >

1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is according to godliness;
Akwụkwọ ozi a si nʼaka m, Pọl, odibo Chineke, na onyeozi Jisọs Kraịst, onye ahọpụtara ime ka okwukwe ndị Chineke, na nghọta banyere ịmara eziokwu ahụ na-eduba na ndụ ịsọpụrụ Chineke gaa nʼihu,
2 In hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the world began; (aiōnios g166)
nke a dabere nʼolileanya maka ndụ ebighị ebi, nke Chineke onye na-adịghị agha ụgha kwerelarị na nkwa tupu mmalite nke oge. (aiōnios g166)
3 But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed to me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;
Mgbe oge imezu nkwa ahụ ruru, o mere ka okwu ya pụta ìhè site na nkwusa oziọma, nke e nyefere m nʼaka idebe, dị ka Chineke Onye nzọpụta anyị si nye ya nʼiwu.
4 To Titus, my own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
5 For this cause I left thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:
Ahapụrụ m gị na Kriit ka i dozie ihe ụfọdụ a na-edozibeghị, ka ị họpụtakwa ndị okenye nʼobodo niile, dị ka m siri nye gị nʼiwu.
6 If any is blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of dissipation or rebellion.
Ọ ga-abụ onye a na-enweghị ihe ịta ụta, ọ ga-abụ onye na-alụ otu nwanyị. Ụmụ ya bụ ndị kwere ekwe, ndị ama na ha anaghị ebi ndụ ọjọọ, maọbụ na-eme isiike.
7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money;
Ebe ọ bụ na onye nlekọta nʼahụ ihe banyere chọọchị Chineke, ọ ga-abụ onye na-enweghị ihe ịta ụta. Ọ gaghị abụ onye nganga, onye na-ewe iwe ọkụ, onye na-aṅụbiga mmanya oke, onye na-alụ ọgụ mgbe niile, onye hụrụ ego nʼanya.
8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober minded, just, holy, temperate;
9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convict those who contradict.
Ọ ga-abụkwa onye jidesiri oziọma ahụ nke kwesiri ntụkwasị obi aka ike dịka eziri ya. Nke ga-eme ka o nwe ike gbaa ndị ọzọ ume site na ozizi ahụ nke zuruoke, nakwa ịtụ ndị ahụ na-eguzogide ya mmehie ha nʼihu.
10 For there are many rebellious and vain talkers and deceivers, especially they of the circumcision:
Nʼihi na e nwere ọtụtụ mmadụ ndị na-ekweghị, ndị na-ekwu okwu efu, na ndị aghụghọ, nke ka nke, ndị si nʼotu ndị obibi ugwu pụta.
11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest gain.
Aghaghị ịkwụsị ha maka na ha na-akụzi ihe ha ekwesighị ikuzi nʼihi ego, si otu ahụ na-eme ka ọtụtụ ezinaụlọ gbasaa.
12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.
Ọ bụ otu onye nʼime ha, onye bụkwa onye amụma ha kwuru okwu banyere ha sị, “Ndị Kriit niile bụ ndị ụgha. Ha kwara obi nʼazụ dị ka anụ ọhịa jọrọ njọ. Ha bụ ndị umengwụ nwere akpịrị ogologo.”
13 This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
Nʼezie, okwu a bụ eziokwu. Nʼihi nke a, baara ha mba nʼolu ike banyere mmehie ha ka ha nwee ike zuo oke nʼokwukwe,
14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
ka ha kwụsị ige ntị nʼakụkọ ifo ndị Juu na-akọ, maọbụ iwu nke ndị jụrụ ịnabata eziokwu nyere.
15 To the pure all things are pure: but to them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
Ihe niile dị ọcha nʼebe ndị dị ọcha nọ, o nweghị ihe ọbụla dị ọcha nʼebe ndị rụrụ arụ na ndị na-ekweghị ekwe nọ. Nʼihi na uche ha na akọnuche ha rụrụ arụ.
16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and to every good work disqualified.
