Revelation 1
1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to him, to show to his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel to his servant John:
Révélation de Jésus-Christ, que Dieu lui a donnée pour montrer à ses serviteurs les choses qui doivent arriver bientôt: il les a fait connaître en envoyant son ange à Jean, son serviteur,
2 Who bore witness of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
qui a annoncé la parole de Dieu et le témoignage de Jésus-Christ, et toutes les choses qu'il a vues.
3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it: for the time is at hand.
Heureux celui qui lit et ceux qui entendent la parole de cette prophétie, et qui observent ce qui s'y trouve écrit! Car le temps est proche.
4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be to you, and peace, from him who is, and who was, and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before his throne;
Jean, aux sept Églises d'Asie. Que la grâce et la paix vous soient données de la part de celui qui est, qui était, et qui vient, de la part des sept esprits qui sont devant son trône,
5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. To him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
et de la part de Jésus-Christ, le témoin fidèle, le premier-né d'entre les morts, le prince des rois de la terre. A celui qui nous aime, qui nous a lavés de nos péchés par son sang,
6 And hath made us kings and priests to God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
et qui nous a faits rois et sacrificateurs pour Dieu son Père, à lui soient la gloire et la force, aux siècles des siècles! Amen. (aiōn g165)
7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also who pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
Le voici qui vient au milieu des nuées! Tout oeil le verra, même ceux qui l'ont percé; et toutes les tribus de la terre se lamenteront à cause de lui. Oui, amen!
8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.
Je suis l'Alpha et l'Oméga, dit le Seigneur Dieu, celui qui est, qui était, et qui vient, le Tout-Puissant!
9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Moi Jean, qui suis votre frère et votre compagnon d'affliction, de royauté et de patience en Jésus, j'étais dans l'île appelée Patmos, à cause de la parole de Dieu et du témoignage de Jésus.
10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
Je fus ravi en esprit, le jour du Seigneur, et j'entendis derrière moi une voix éclatante, pareille au son d'une trompette,
11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia; to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.
qui disait: Ce que tu vois, écris-le dans un livre, et envoie-le aux sept Églises, à Éphèse, à Smyrne, à Pergame, à Thyatire, à Sardes, à Philadelphie et à Laodicée.
12 And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned, I saw seven golden lampstands;
Alors je me retournai pour savoir quelle était la voix qui me parlait; et, m'étant retourné, je vis sept chandeliers d'or,
13 And in the midst of the seven lampstands one like the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the breasts with a golden band.
et au milieu des chandeliers, quelqu'un qui ressemblait à un fils d'homme, vêtu d'une longue robe, et ceint à la hauteur de la poitrine d'une ceinture d'or.
14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
Sa tête et ses cheveux étaient blancs comme de la laine blanche, comme de la neige; ses yeux étaient comme une flamme de feu;
15 And his feet like fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
ses pieds étaient semblables à de l'airain rougi dans une fournaise, et sa voix était comme le bruit des grosses eaux.
16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
Il avait dans sa main droite sept étoiles; de sa bouche sortait une épée aiguë à deux tranchants, et son visage était comme le soleil, quand il brille dans sa force.
17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying to me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
En le voyant, je tombai à ses pieds comme mort; mais il posa sa main droite sur moi, et il me dit: Ne crains point. Je suis le premier et le dernier, le Vivant!
19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be after this;
Écris donc les choses que tu as vues, celles qui sont et celles qui doivent arriver après celles-ci,
20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven lampstands which thou sawest are the seven churches.
le mystère des sept étoiles que tu as vues dans ma main droite, et des sept chandeliers d'or. Les sept étoiles sont les anges des sept Églises, et les sept chandeliers sont les sept Églises.
