Psalms 99

1 The LORD reigneth; let the people tremble: he setteth between the cherubim; let the earth be moved.

Psaume de David. Le Seigneur a régné, que les peuples exhalent leur colère; il est assis sur les chérubins, que la terre tremble!

2 The LORD is great in Zion; and he is high above all people.

Le Seigneur est grand dans Sion; il est élevé au-dessus de tous les peuples.

3 Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy.

Exaltez le Seigneur notre Dieu, et adorez l'escabeau de ses pieds; car il est saint.

4 The king’s strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.

L'honneur du roi aime la justice: tu as établi l'équité; tu as rendu la justice et le jugement en Jacob.

5 Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.

Exaltez le Seigneur notre Dieu, et adorez l'escabeau de ses pieds; car il est saint.

6 Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the LORD, and he answered them.

Moïse et Aaron ont été comptés parmi ses prêtres, et Samuel parmi ceux qui invoquent son nom. Ils invoquaient le Seigneur, et lui les exauçait.

7 He spoke to them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them.

Il leur parlait du milieu d'une colonne de nuée. Ils gardaient ses témoignages et les commandements qu'il donnait.

8 Thou didst answer them, O LORD our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance on their evil deeds.

Seigneur notre Dieu, tu les as écoutés; ô Dieu, tu leur as été propice, même en toi vengeant de tous leurs desseins.

9 Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.

Exaltez le Seigneur notre Dieu, et adorez-le sur sa montagne sainte; car le Seigneur notre Dieu est saint.
