Psalms 96
1 O sing to the LORD a new song: sing to the LORD, all the earth.
Syng HERREN en ny Sang, syng for HERREN, al Jorden,
2 Sing to the LORD, bless his name; show forth his salvation from day to day.
syng for HERREN og lov hans Navn, fortæl om hans Frelse Dag efter Dag,
3 Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.
kundgør hans Ære blandt Folkene, hans Undere blandt alle Folkeslag!
4 For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.
Thi stor og højlovet er HERREN, forfærdelig over alle Guder;
5 For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.
thi alle Folkeslagenes Guder er Afguder, HERREN er Himlens Skaber.
6 Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
For hans Aasyn er Højhed og Hæder, Lov og Pris i hans Helligdom.
7 Give to the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give to the LORD glory and strength.
Giv HERREN, I Folkeslags Slægter, giv HERREN Ære og Pris,
8 Give to the LORD the glory due to his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.
giv HERREN hans Navns Ære, bring Gaver og kom til hans Forgaarde,
9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.
tilbed HERREN i helligt Skrud, bæv for hans Aasyn, al Jorden!
10 Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.
Sig blandt Folkeslag: »HERREN har vist, han er Konge, han grundfæsted Jorden, den rokkes ikke, med Retfærd dømmer han Folkene.«
11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and all it containeth.
Himlen glæde sig, Jorden juble, Havet med dets Fylde bruse,
12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it: then shall all the trees of the forest rejoice
Marken juble og alt, hvad den bærer! Da fryder sig alle Skovens Træer
13 Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.
for HERRENS Aasyn, thi han kommer, han kommer at dømme Jorden; han dømmer Jorden med Retfærd og Folkene i sin Trofasthed.
