Psalms 63

1 A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

«Ψαλμός του Δαβίδ, ότε ευρίσκετο εν τη ερήμω Ιούδα.» Θεέ, συ είσαι ο Θεός μου· από πρωΐας σε ζητώ· σε διψά η ψυχή μου, σε ποθεί η σαρξ μου, εν γη ερήμω, ξηρά και ανύδρω·

2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

διά να βλέπω την δύναμίν σου και την δόξαν σου, καθώς σε είδον εν τω αγιαστηρίω.

3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

Διότι το έλεός σου είναι καλήτερον παρά την ζωήν· τα χείλη μου θέλουσι σε επαινεί.

4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

Ούτω θέλω σε ευλογεί εν τη ζωή μου· εν τω ονόματί σου θέλω υψόνει τας χείρας μου.

5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

Ως από πάχους και μυελού θέλει χορτασθή η ψυχή μου και διά χειλέων αγαλλιάσεως θέλει υμνεί το στόμα μου,

6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

Όταν σε ενθυμώμαι επί της στρωμνής μου, εις σε μελετώ εν ταις φυλακαίς της νυκτός.

7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

Επειδή εστάθης βοήθειά μου· διά τούτο υπό την σκιάν των πτερύγων σου θέλω χαίρει.

8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

Προσεκολλήθη η ψυχή μου κατόπιν σου· η δεξιά σου με υποστηρίζει.

9 But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.

Οι δε ζητούντες την ψυχήν μου, διά να εξολοθρεύσωσιν αυτήν, θέλουσιν εμβή εις τα κατώτατα μέρη της γής·

10 They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.

θέλουσι πέσει διά ρομφαίας· θέλουσιν είσθαι μερίς αλωπέκων.

11 But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

Ο δε βασιλεύς θέλει ευφρανθή επί τον Θεόν· θέλει δοξασθή πας ο ομνύων εις αυτόν· διότι θέλει φραχθή το στόμα των λαλούντων ψεύδος.
