Psalms 61

1 To the chief Musician upon Neginah, A Psalm of David. Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer.

Načelniku godbe na strune, pesem Davidova. Sliši Bog, vpitje moje, ozri se v molitev mojo.

2 From the end of the earth will I cry to thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Od skrajnosti dežele te kličem, ko se pogreza srce moje; na skalo, ki bodi višja od mene, pelji me.

3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

Ker bil si mi pribežališče, stolp krepak zoper sovražnika.

4 I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the shelter of thy wings. (Selah)

Bival bodem v šatoru tvojem na veke; pribežal bodem pod peróti tvojih zatišje.

5 For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.

Ker ti, Bog, si poslušal obljube moje, dal si dedovino spoštujočim ime tvoje.

6 Thou wilt prolong the king’s life: and his years as many generations.

Dni dodaj dnevom kraljevim; leta njegova naj bodejo kakor mnogih rodov.

7 He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.

Ostane naj vekomaj pred Bogom; milost in zvestobo pripravi, da naj ga varujeti.

8 So will I sing praise to thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.

Tako bodem prepeval tvojemu imenu večno, opravljajoč vsak dan obljube svoje.
