< Psalms 39 >

1 To the chief Musician, even to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.
Wɔde ma dwonkyerɛfo no. Yedutun. Dawid dwom. Mekae se, “Mɛhwɛ mʼakwan yiye na mamfa me tɛkrɛma anyɛ bɔne; mɛto mʼano nnareka bere a amumɔyɛfo bɛn me yi.
2 I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.
Enti meyɛɛ komm a manka asɛm papa biara mpo nanso mʼapinisi mu yɛɛ den.
3 My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then I spoke with my tongue,
Me koma ho guan no wɔ me mu. Midwinnwen no, ogya dɛwee; afei mede me tɛkrɛma kasae se:
4 LORD, make me to know my end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.
“Awurade, ma minhu me nkwa awiei ne me nna dodow; ma minhu sɛnea me nkwa si twa mu ntɛm so.
5 Behold, thou hast made my days as an hand breadth; and my age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. (Selah)
Woayɛ me nna sɛ nsateaa baako pɛ; na me mfe dodow nyɛ hwee wɔ wʼani so. Onipa nkwa yɛ ɔhome bi kɛkɛ.
6 Surely every man walketh in a vain show: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.
Onipa redi akɔneaba nyinaa no, ɔte sɛ sunsuma bi kwa; ɔhaw ne ho nanso ɔyɛ kwa; ɔboa ahonya ano na onnim nea ɛbɛyɛ ne de.
7 And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.
“Afei Awurade, dɛn na merehwehwɛ? Mʼanidaso wɔ wo mu.
8 Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish.
Gye me fi me bɔne nyinaa mu; mma mennyɛ nkwaseafo aserewde.
9 I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it.
Meyɛɛ komm, na mammue mʼano, efisɛ wo na woayɛ eyi.
10 Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thy hand.
Yi wʼasotwe fi me so; wo nsa ano amanehunu amene me.
11 When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. (Selah)
Woka nnipa anim, na wotwe wɔn aso wɔ wɔn bɔne ho; wosɛe wɔn ahonya te sɛ nwewee; onipa biara yɛ ɔhome kɛkɛ.
12 Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear to my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.
“Awurade, tie me mpaebɔ, tie me sufrɛ; nsiw wʼaso wɔ me su ho. Me ne wo te hɔ sɛ ɔnanani, sɛnea na mʼagyanom nyinaa te no.
13 O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I depart, and be no more.
Yi wʼani fi me so na manya nkwa bio, ansa na mafi ha a mente ase bio.”
