1 A Psalm of David. Give to the LORD, O ye mighty, give to the LORD glory and strength.

En Salme af David. Giver HERREN, I Guds Sønner, giver HERREN Ære og Pris,

2 Give to the LORD the glory due to his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

giver HERREN hans Navns Ære; tilbed HERREN i helligt Skrud!

3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.

HERRENS Røst er over Vandene, Ærens Gud lader Tordenen rulle, HERREN, over de vældige Vande!

4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.

HERRENS Røst med Vælde, HERRENS Røst i Højhed,

5 The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars; yea, the LORD breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.

HERRENS Røst, den splintrer Cedre, HERREN splintrer Libanons Cedre,

6 He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.

faar Libanon til at springe som en Kalv og Sirjon som den vilde Okse!

7 The voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire.

HERRENS Røst udslynger Luer.

8 The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.

HERRENS Røst faar Ørk til at skælve, HERREN faar Kadesj's Ørk til at skælve!

9 The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and maketh bare the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.

HERRENS Røst faar Hind til at føde, og den gør lyst i Skoven. Alt i hans Helligdom raaber: »Ære!«

10 The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever.

HERREN tog Sæde og sendte Vandfloden, HERREN tog Sæde som Konge for evigt.

11 The LORD will give strength to his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.

HERREN give Kraft til sit Folk, HERREN velsigne sit Folk med Fred!
