Psalms 21

1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

(Thơ của Đa-vít, soạn cho nhạc trưởng) Lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu, vua vui mừng nhờ năng lực Chúa, được đắc thắng, người hân hoan biết bao.

2 Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withheld the request of his lips. (Selah)

Chúa ban điều lòng người mơ ước, không từ chối lời môi miệng cầu xin.

3 For thou meetest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.

Chúa đãi người thật dồi dào hạnh phước, đưa lên ngôi, đội cho vương miện vàng.

4 He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it to him, even length of days for ever and ever.

Người cầu xin được sống dài lâu, Chúa cho đời người dài đến vô tận.

5 His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.

Nhờ chiến thắng Chúa ban, người quang vinh tuyệt đỉnh, được bao phủ trong vinh dự, và uy nghiêm.

6 For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.

Ngài tặng người những ơn phước vĩnh hằng, cho người hân hoan bởi Ngài hiện diện.

7 For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.

Vì vua đặt niềm tin nơi Chúa Hằng Hữu, nơi Đấng Chí Cao đầy dẫy nhân từ, vua sẽ không lay chuyển, không suy vong.

8 Thy hand shall find out all thy enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.

Chúa sẽ ra tay tìm bắt kẻ thù. Tay hữu Chúa sẽ nắm lấy họ.

9 Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thy anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.

Chúa xuất hiện, sẽ khiến họ như lò lửa, trong cơn giận họ bị Ngài nuốt, ngọn lửa hừng sẽ đốt họ tiêu tan.

10 Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.

Con cháu họ tuyệt diệt khỏi mặt đất, không còn ai sống sót giữa cõi đời.

11 For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.

Chống đối Chúa, họ mưu toan ác kế, chẳng bao giờ hy vọng được thành công.

12 Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thy arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.

Chúa sẽ khiến họ quay lưng chạy trốn, khi thấy tay Chúa giương cung.

13 Be thou exalted, LORD, in thy own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.

Nguyện Chúa Hằng Hữu được tán dương về năng lực của Ngài. Chúng con xin ca tụng Chúa quyền oai.
