Psalms 16
1 Michtam of David. Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
Ecrit de David. Garde-moi, ô Dieu, car je me retire vers toi!
2 O my soul, thou hast said to the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;
J'ai dit à l'Éternel: Tu es le Seigneur, en toi j'ai mon souverain bien.
3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
Les saints, qui sont dans le pays, sont les nobles en qui je prends tout mon plaisir.
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take their names into my lips.
Nombreux sont les maux de ceux qui courent ailleurs; je n'offre point leurs libations de sang, et leurs noms ne sont jamais sur mes lèvres.
5 The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
L'Éternel est mon lot, et la coupe qui est ma part; c'est toi qui m'assures mon héritage.
6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.
Mon domaine m'est échu dans de beaux lieux, et mon patrimoine est aussi mon délice.
7 I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night season.
Je bénis l'Éternel qui a été mon conseil; et, les nuits même, mon cœur me donne ses avis.
8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Je me suis proposé l'Éternel devant moi constamment; car s'Il est à ma droite, je ne serai pas ébranlé.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
Aussi la joie est dans mon cœur, et l'allégresse dans mon âme, et ma chair aussi repose sûrement;
10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou permit thy Holy One to see corruption. (Sheol h7585)
car tu n'abandonneras pas mon âme aux Enfers, et tu ne permettras pas que celui qui t'aime voie le tombeau. (Sheol h7585)
11 Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand are pleasures for evermore.
Tu me montreras les sentiers de la vie. En ta présence on trouve plénitude de joie, et dans ta droite, des plaisirs pour toujours.
