Psalms 139
1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.
Untuk pemimpin kor. Mazmur Daud. Ya TUHAN, Engkau menyelami aku dan mengenal aku.
2 Thou knowest my downsitting and my uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
Engkau tahu segala perbuatanku; dari jauh Engkau mengerti pikiranku.
3 Thou dost scrutinize my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
Engkau melihat aku, baik aku bekerja atau beristirahat, Engkau tahu segala yang kuperbuat.
4 For there is not a word on my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
Bahkan sebelum aku berbicara, Engkau tahu apa yang hendak kukatakan.
5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thy hand upon me.
Engkau mengelilingi aku dari segala penjuru, dan Kaulindungi aku dengan kuasa-Mu.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain to it.
Terlalu dalam bagiku pengetahuan-Mu itu, tidak terjangkau oleh pikiranku.
7 Where shall I go from thy spirit? or where shall I flee from thy presence?
Ke mana aku dapat pergi agar luput dari kuasa-Mu? Ke mana aku dapat lari menjauh dari hadapan-Mu?
8 If I ascend into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. (Sheol h7585)
Jika aku naik ke langit, Engkau ada di sana, jika aku tidur di alam maut, di situ pun Engkau ada. (Sheol h7585)
9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
Jika aku terbang lewat ufuk timur atau berdiam di ujung barat yang paling jauh,
10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
di sana pun Engkau menolong aku; di sana juga tangan-Mu membimbing aku.
11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
Jika aku minta supaya gelap menyelubungi aku, dan terang di sekelilingku menjadi malam,
12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
maka kegelapan itu pun tidak gelap bagi-Mu; malam itu terang seperti siang, dan gelap itu seperti terang.
13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.
Engkau menciptakan setiap bagian badanku, dan membentuk aku dalam rahim ibuku.
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul well knoweth
Aku memuji Engkau sebab aku sangat luar biasa! Segala perbuatan-Mu ajaib dan mengagumkan, aku benar-benar menyadarinya.
15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and skilfully formed in the lowest parts of the earth.
Waktu tulang-tulangku dijadikan, dengan cermat dirangkaikan dalam rahim ibuku, sedang aku tumbuh di sana secara rahasia, aku tidak tersembunyi bagi-Mu.
16 Thy eyes saw my substance, not yet formed; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
Engkau melihat aku waktu aku masih dalam kandungan; semuanya tercatat di dalam buku-Mu; hari-harinya sudah ditentukan sebelum satu pun mulai.
17 How precious also are thy thoughts to me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
Betapa sulitnya pikiran-Mu bagiku, ya Allah, dan betapa banyak jumlahnya!
18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
Jika kuhitung, lebih banyak dari pasir; bila aku bangun, masih juga kupikirkan Engkau.
19 Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.
Kiranya orang jahat Kautumpas, ya Allah, jauhkanlah para penumpah darah daripadaku!
20 For they speak against thee wickedly, and thy enemies take thy name in vain.
Mereka mengatakan yang jahat tentang Engkau, dan bersumpah palsu demi kota-kota-Mu.
21 Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
Ya TUHAN, kubenci orang yang membenci Engkau, hatiku kesal terhadap orang yang melawan Engkau!
22 I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them my enemies.
Mereka sangat kubenci, dan kuanggap sebagai musuh.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
Selidikilah aku ya Allah, selamilah hatiku, ujilah aku dan ketahuilah pikiranku.
24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Lihatlah entah ada kejahatan dalam diriku, dan bimbinglah aku di jalan yang kekal.
